Ya as much as I hate to admit it, I know you are right. My Corso is the biggest love bug. However, I’m pretty sure if someone was hurting me I really don’t think he’d just sit there. I’ve tried to find someone to fake attack me but no takers. lol

Got a stray Corso years ago that was 2 years old...named him Boss, and he passed at 10 from cancer. He was a great protector, but he loved our 4 daughters and 10 grandkids. He was coal black, 150 pounds...and he will always be missed. So, we would disagree with needing a certain bloodline. Shower them with love and exercise them at least an hour a day.

Next dog, don't feed them dry bag food that you wouldn't eat, if that's what you were feeding em. That's the cancer.

Cancer was around long before processed dog food. There can be many factors

@@MarinoK9I think you are wrong about that. Cancer in dogs is off the charts. What they eat must be a big part of it. Dog food is too high in carbs and not enough good proteins.

@@MarinoK9 we all have cancer cells …I’m saying that it has escalated because of bad dog food especially dry dog food. If you think feeding your dog 100% dry dog food is healthy then you are doing a disservice to dogs.

Most ppl fear Rottweilers, our neighbors when I was little had 2 and one got out of the fence & attacked my brother ripped his leg appart they had 12 foot tall gates that opened in their driveway/front yard to get cars in & out, but 2 days ago I seen one at petsmart & he tucked his tail when I said "hey buddie" & made eye contact with it, he was a year old & clearly very shy/timid to strangers i told the owner lady " he dosent know he could eat any dog in here like a snack" 😂 she said "no he surely doesn't"😊 he was a sweet shy lover boyyy

Yes, the show circle ⭕ and the pet market has watered down the Roman Molossians on average, you have do some research to find working line's, which are not for the average person...💪✌️

Id say the main exception to the rule would be livestock guardian dog breeds like kangals or other livestock guardian breeds who have continued to be used as livestock guardian dogs not been so popularized in the pet market

    • @MarinoK9
      @MarinoK9  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

No exception to any rule. You are mixing apples and oranges. Livestock guardian is a totally different job with totally different dogs than a home security dog. Cattle and sheep herding dogs still do their jobs, but their job isn't to be man stoppers. I'm talking about man-stopping breeds.

@@MarinoK9 I'll give you that, but I'd still feel a lot more confident with a Kangles 's natural guardian abilities then a dog like a German Shepherd that's kind of been watered down for the pet market nowadays.

bro most people have homeowners insurance, and once they turn above 40 years old, nobody wants a dog that actually bites people.. because that is not a false sense of security it is called a uninsurable risk. 7 out of 10 dogs wont bite anyone... no matter what you do ... I have 3 dogue de bordeaux . people are just scared of them,. they are not a danger to anyone. except because they are 3 if they attacked a prowler I'd have trouble saving his life., cheers i had a Cane corso she bit a guy right in the face that sat beside her in the back seat or a 235ix BMW 1989 . kid almost lost an eye

Hmm??? He paid 3,500.00 for the dog to guard his home. This dog would not protect his home, and he was surprised the dog allowed me to pet him. Many people want dogs that will truly protect their home (just like this dude) but fall for the scam... that IS a false sense of security! When the dog you thought would protect your home won't... that, by definition, IS a false sense of security... There is NO risk! When my dogs bite the person who just broke into my property, I'm 100% legally in the clear. I'm NOT scared of your dogs! Very few dogs scare me. Same with the criminals breaking into your property. They know your dogs are for looking at and not a real threat. Too each their own, but our dogs bring us true security and peace of mind.

Are you comparing a Bordeaux to a Corso.lol. Thats like comparing a .50 cal round to a .22. I would bet your "Corso" was not breed standard and had mixed dna which means it's not a Corso. My experience over the last 12 years- the American version "Corso" from 80s or "non traditional" will run away, bite random people, won't protect and have zero prey or working drive. The intelligence doesn't carry over well either. Vet bills follow as well. I have yet to meet a breed standard traditional Corso in person over the last 3 years since I got my boy. Been to TX, CA, Utah, Wyoming, Las Vegas, AZ, Colorado. Only the over size 160lb "Corso" version. My dog works like an all terrain vehicle. He protects me or any property he is designated, swims like a fish, will jump into a tree to catch a squirrel or bird, hunts wabbits, turkeys, or anything walking on four legs, defends against stray dogs- he guarded my bros house while we visited and chewed up 2 pits loose in the neighborhood a few months ago in TX. Countless interactions in the mountains with fox, cats. He's rattle snake trained to alert me of their presence, therapy trained to help me with mobility and mental health, search and rescue trained to find lost hikers and dead bodies. Almost service trained, but was deemed too protective, because if I am on the ground hurt he will not let you get close at all. I researched the breed for 8 years before purchasing, called Italy breeders, read Corsi books. I have the whole family tree from Corsica, Italy that shows the bloodlines from decades ago of my dog. Just the shear energy presence of my dog in his CGC training classes made Malinois, shepherd, huskies, pits, rotts turn their back to him as he walks by or they piss on themselves.
People are just purchasing or breeding for the notoriety the name brings not for the working capability. Take care of the dog you have of course , but don't put expectations on them because you will be let down. The name Cane Corso translates to "body guard or guard dog." If your "Corso" does not live up to the name , then you know what you don't have.
If the guy in Utah that we had interactions with in the Ogden area at Fort Boneventure ever reads this- he had 14 huskies that tried to attacked us on the side of the mountain; he is a witness to what a Corso can do at the age of 2 years old. I gave bite command and he swiftly attacked the Alpha bitch leading the pack and the second bitch behind her. Second occassion, in the same area the guy had only 8 r 9 of the huskies. Same scenario except this day they pack fanned out into a chevron shape and tried to surround us. I didn't give any command this time as they crept up on us from behind running full speed and once the first bitch was within 15 feet my boy launched himself into her side like how a dolphin kills a shark. The bitch yelped and the rest of the packed retreated. My guy did not follow and stayed with us the whole time as they ran down the mountain to the owner who had all these dogs stuffed into a 2 door hatch back car. My 14 year old daughter was with us on both occasions if you happen to want to discredit my story. The time seemed like it stopped during those two altercations, but I am confident in what dog I have because he has been tested and passed with flying colors each time.
I've had pits, rotts, terriers, grew up with a neighbor that had a mountain lion as a pet. The traditional Corso is way more impressive and athletic. 6ft fence is not enough, any dog chew toy made he will destroy within 10 minutes. Only deer antlers and moose antlers will suffice. The bite force is crazy! I talked a trainer into to entering my house with a bite suit and he left bleeding from his head as my dog latched onto his arm threw him off balance into the wall and hit his head. One entry with me present and one without. Trainer stated the bark alone would deter most from entering as you can feel it vibrate through your bones. The bite was worse with me present and slightly less without, but I feel my dog caught onto the training and realized I am just standing outside waiting.
I may not have the baddest dog or breed, however, I am only advocating for my experience and knowledge as an owner.

@kushandwater8590 @kushandwater8590 you must be new here. I'm the one who published "The Corso Hoax." I'm more than fully aware that these Corsos are NOT pure Cirsos.... Nobody with these bloodlines has pure dogs. And no. I wasn't comparing anything to the Corso. Good dogs are there you find them. The guy I'm talking about said he owned two of those dogs and thither two that he personally owns wouldn't really hurt anyone. I wasn't talking about the entire breed.... I only read the first two sentences of your comment.. you were mistaken twice in those few sentences, , so there was no need for me to go any further. Best of luck!
