My family LOVES your family! It's always such a joy when yall have a new podcast or video out. Personal convictions are different from things that God hates. Christians cannot sprinkle a little Jesus on something that is dark and demonic in origin and think God is going to be okay with it. We can learn a lot from the Israelites while waiting on Moses when he was on the mountain. We are suppose to be set apart. Be in the world but not of the world... we have to remember, God is never changing! Much love ❤
Halloween, it's one of the oldest Christian Holy Days, part of the Triduum... Satan jumps on every Jewish and Christian Holy Day because satan doesn't have any... Read my post, Godspeed
Christianity renamed Christmas from yule ( mid winter) Easter was co-opted from spring equinox. We can dominate this one also celebrate biblical martyrs. Shine that hand out bible verses to the people or Church business cards. Say hi. Say God bless you.
Our church in Hutto, TX hosts block parties on Halloween! We believe that it’s the one day people come to your door so we have a responsibility to be a bright light on a dark night. At the block parties we hand out food, candy, and fliers for our church and we don’t serve alcohol or have scary displays. I just love the idea of reaching people who you normally couldn’t reach ❤
I love your comment concerning AA. I have taught Celebrate Recovery, and the fact is in any addiction we must get healed through Jesus Christ and walk daily with the Holy Spirit. We must get connected through the Church and use James 5:16 (the whole verse not just part B). I have been a pastor since 1993 and truly believe many look to systems and not to Christ. Thank you for your voice and stand strong in your conviction!!!
I’m a 67 year old grandmother and I remember struggling so vividly with the whole Halloween issue as far as letting our children participate, neither my husband nor I grew up in Christian homes so participating was the norm for us but receiving Jesus Christ as our Saviour in the mid 70’s we had many questions back then. I do think it’s best to go with your convictions. So God bless you for taking this topic on.🌻
My best friend growing up lost his dad ( heart attack) I remember my friend calling me a day asking did I think his dad went to heaven he was a good guy .I told him unfortunately hell is filled with good people there is only one way but I would pray with him.a couple weeks later my friends dads brother called him and told him I thought you should know that your dad spoke with me this past Thanksgiving about God and was able to lead him in prayer of salvation.
May the Lord bless you both from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic! We don't celebrate Halloween here because it's focused on witchcraft and magic We celebrate life in Jesus not death. Thanks for sharing this episode!
Granger and Amber, I really appreciate your response to the Halloween question. My wife and I have been having similar discussions. My wife has been more on the page of making Halloween more fall festival like you guys did and it’s taken me time to come around but your response was what really helped me make a decision. Thank you for your examples of what it is to be true followers of Jesus Christ.
Turning Halloween into a fall festival is closer to the Celtic, pagan celebration of harvest time. You are removing the original Christian celebration of the martyrs that began sundown the night before the actual hoy day of November 1st, called All Saints Day. The evening before a holy day is All Hallows Eve i.e. Halloween. You are letting secularism win over the holiday if you do that. Rather, take back the holiday that honored those who gave their lives for Christ! Dress your children as Saints and teach them about the saints who represent the church triumphant!
Love You Guys so much and always appreciate your viewpoint/convictions. I understand the struggle some feel about Halloween. As a Christian store located in a mall- the mall has a candy giveout from all participating stores. After much prayer we have a great peace about giving out "Jesus Loves You" gift bags every year with a few pieces of candy and at least two little toys with cross/scripture and the response is overwhelming. Last year we ran out of candy and as I said-" I'm sorry we ran out of candy but I have these little crosses and a small motorcycle with message". they all said "that's so much better". Sometimes-just be the Light in the darkness.
My friend we can’t retrospectively pray for someone’s salvation. When someone dies that’s it. And that’s why it is so gravely important to share the gospel while they are ALIVE!😊
One of the oldest Christian Holy Days from the time Stephen was martyred & John was beheaded. It's part of the Triduum. Halloween = the eve of All Hallows Day Hallows = Holy I hope this helps and you remember your Christian friends & family that have gone ahead into eternity on this High Holy Day in the the Christian Church.
Neither where christmas and Easter the saved co-opted Christianity into pagan rituals so can we bring the good news into Halloween. This a chance to let your light show in a world of darkness. On their darkest night.
@sonofgodcomingsoon9914 Halloween is not a pagan Holiday = Eve of High Holy Day. One of the oldest Christian Triduum celebration. Read my post to understand ancient church history. Satan tries to piggy back on Biblical Holy Days, because satan doesn't have holidays. Saint Stephen the first martyr along with The Beheading of John started All Hallows Eve, All Hallows Day and All Souls Day the Day if Remembrance in the early church. 300-400 AD May the Peace of the Lord be always with you, Godspeed ☠️👻🎃❤️
Me personally I don't think halloween is godly because if you think about it god isn't about monsters and goblins or anything scary. But with that being said I do celebrate halloween With my kids they love dressing up and going and getting candy we have a church not far from us and they have food and activities for the kids and everything and so that's what we do every year ❤❤❤❤❤
It’s my birthday… so I’m good with it! I have lots of fond memories of my Halloween birthdays. Trick or Treating, having good laughs with our neighbours and treat givers, as well as our family. Listening to some folks, I must be demonic for being born on Halloween. Seriously, it’s not a demonic holiday at all. It’s a harvest celebration. One problem with religion is that you allow an organization to interpret and attach meaning to events and people are not allowed to question or challenge it. There could be a distortion of the original concept. There could be misrepresentation based on organizational or personal bias. Having said this, there’s a place for religion in society (the world needs it more than ever) as it brings hope, and develops faith in people. It gives people strength and courage. These are wonderful blessed things.
Amber is one of my favorite guests!!! I remember growing up as Catholic as a little girl. We always had to go to mass for All Saints Day before we would get to go trick or treating. 🤪 I am no longer Catholic for many other reasons but I do understand not celebrating the demonic aspect of it. Ya’ll are so good together!!! ❤
If you were a real Christian and new half of what you are talking about you’d know it is a Christian holiday. Might wanna actually start reading the Bible. Bet your kids are real smart
Grace & Peace to you and Amber. Hot Button topic for sure today! AA and Al-Anon Programs and Fellowship, have given our family 36 years of sobriety and a new way of living. I am willing to have a conversation with you directly about how these programs work in and out of Christian community. It's not just knowing the 12 steps, but a complete surrender to God, as we understand Him, that leads to acceptance of our powerlessness over the effect of alcoholism.. Thank you for all you do on this platform. I hope this particular topic will not cause your message skew in an unintended direction. Tracy, a grateful member of Al-Anon.
Our church has a Fall festival and shares the gospel with the neighborhood. I usually leave out candy and tracts for kids who may come by our house. We've also started celebrating Reformation Day at home and it's been fun to learn church history and have themed treats. I agree about personal conviction. I let my kids dress up for harvestfest but they know that anything that celebrates the occult/death is off limits. Also, we don't watch horror movies or engage in anything that glorifies death or fear. 🙏 I don't think my kids have ever missed out...there's so much innocent Fall fun out there. Also, the Biblical Feast of Tabernacles and Trumpets are so much fun in the Fall and can teach kids Biblical history. 🍁🍂
Once you look into the dark history and see the symbolic meaning of Halloween you won’t look bad at saying no for your family. Even pumpkins and carving is part of the dark art of Halloween. We celebrated for years but had to stop.
May the Peace of the Lord be always with you, Godspeed The Triduum, All Hallows Eve (Halloween), All Hallows Day (All Saints Day), All Souls Day (Day of the Dead) 🌙🕸🍺🔥👻☠️🎃💀 Next is Advent, Hanukkah, Xmas, Epiphany, Sader, Fat Tuesday (Madi Gras) Passover The Blood Sacrifice (Good Friday), Easter, Ascension, Pentecost 🔥 etc... Find yourself an Anglican, Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, or Hebrew Calendar...
Granger I couldn’t agree more with you on how so many local churches have completely failed at having a biblical leadership structure therefore completely failing to shepherd their flock. Unfortunately too many churches are more worried about numbers on a tally sheet and being appealing to the world when they should be focused on shepherding the flock. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying evangelism and reaching the lost is not important but too many churches aren’t align like the Bible prescribes and the flock suffers. Love you two and I appreciate this ministry. I will be adding y’all and your family to my daily prayers. God bless you both!
Christianity renamed Christmas from yule ( mid winter) Easter was co-opted from spring equinox. We can dominate this one also celebrate biblical martyrs. Shine that hand out bible verses to the people or Church business cards. Say hi. Say God bless you.
"Fall Festivals" ate also worldly and Pagan...IE solstice's. God doesn't need ANY of this and even in Isaiah he tells his people their Feast Days and burnt offerings are abominations.
@@Mandalor_the_Lonely The solstice is Latin for 'sun' and 'to stand still'. It's literally where the Sun is the highest/lowest point in the sky ie the longest and shortest day. There's nothing Pagan about the longest and shortest day
I struggled for a few years as well on the Halloween issue. Being the mom who says no, while all the other kids talk about all the fun they are going to have and how they will dress up on Halloween makes it hard. Sin is sin and mingling in darkness is not to be tolerated. Adonai put it on my heart to not partake of things of this world, especially the demonic, and explaining that to my daughter was so hard, especially since her heart is so inncocent. We are to train up our children in the way of Adonai, not of this world. That is something I have to remind myself when it comes to "celebrations" rooted in the demonic (including the distorted celebration of Christmas, aka buying a bunch of things and celebrating Santa Clause, instead of focusing on the birth of our Messiah, celebrating the Easter Bunny, ect), music, and entertainment that destroys the mind and blots out our Creator. This world idolizes everything but our Creator!
When our kids got to be about 7 or 8 years olds. We got conviction on halloween so we started renting a couple clean family movies and bought pizza, pop and their favorite candies. They were fine with that. Trying to give them an opinion instead of saying you can't go trick or treating. This was back in the 90's. Thank you for all the great content you have on both channels.
My brother was murdered on Halloween 1982 so as I grew up I hated it,then I grew up and had my own kids, and I let my kids celebrate, and it's ok to let your kids have fun there's so many ways to enjoy this Holiday,It doesn't have to be demonic my goodness, all these things exist and to not celebrate it with our families is wrong,we've celebrated it for hundred thousands of years❤
Well, I’m going to guess that today’s responses will bring about some strong responses, but I do hope fold will step back for a bit and really ponder what y’all said. What they thought they heard you say at first may not be a true representation of what you really meant. I know I’m going to need to digest this a bit. You gave us much to consider. As always, love it when Amber is on with you. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
So you just decorate your house with holly and pine boughs and have removed Jesus from December 25th? That is what you are doing by removing the Christian meaning behind All Hallows Eve aka Halloween and just celebrating the pagan celebration to honor the god of the harvest! You are letting evil win.
Our church and another church in our area have harvest parties. Nothing goulish or evil related. We have games and trunk or treat where candy is passed out. The trunks have themes like candy land or fish bowl. There's a chili cook off & contest. Cake walks, crock pots full of soups and casseroles to share. The community is invited. It's a fun alternative.
I grew up in rural Indiana where my father farmed. Fall was so special because it meant harvest of all of his hard work. We celebrated Halloween more as Fall and even had a special family night. We even pulled taffy and had games. I never once thought of demons. I taught my sons the the same. This comes from a midwest farmer's daughter who got spanked for playing tag in the sanctuary. My Father meant business!❤
Remember the thief on the cross . I know there will be some people in heaven that cried out for forgiveness just moments before they died. But you are true only God knows who is in Heaven and I am so thankful that he is my one true judge because so many people judge people unjustly everyday. But My God is a Fair and Just God. He truly is my Best Friend❤
Wow! Some awesome things to think about. We can pray for loved ones who have passed kinda like a time machine idea. I get it. And I never heard that people who end up in hell will not be repented. That opens my eyes too.
Our Halloween has slowly changed to more of a harvest celebration because it's just become so much more evil in the last few years. When my granddaughter was little she loved Curious George Boofest so now she's 9 and we still fill the yard with pumpkins and and we have a fire in our firepit and eat smores. I think we will add the " candy extravagandy" this year! 😅
I agree that’s it’s all about each individual persons conviction. If you let your kids dress appropriate and do it all in fun. It ok. My family has a memorial tradition. We take the kids out early and all meet to eat supper together. My husband was a baptist preacher. He loved to watch the kids dress up. Get the candy. Then when we got older. He loved to sit on the porch and pass it out. He’s been gone 18 months. I still get sad at Halloween. Because we made great memories. All in fun.
We had an alternative to Halloween when we were raising our children. Our church put on a harvest festival for the kids where they could dress up appropriately and play game and win candy. They had fun and did not miss out. 😂
I have a family member who is a Captain with the Fire Dept. he told me he see's unspeakable things happen around Halloween, we raised 5 children without Halloween because I refuse to celebrate a day where people are hurt. We had a family night with movies and our kids never felt deprived. My convictions may not be others and that's fine.
Listen to the Holy Spirit. Hold firm to your convictions. We are not missing out on anything,we are gaining everything. We do not celebrate Halloween or any kind of party on Oct. 31st. We do celebrate the Lord's feasts, which is a commandment
I wouldn’t celebrate Halloween as a Christian. You have to ask what it is you are celebrating and or for what purpose. To have a good time ect. All seems like worldly reasons to celebrate not to mention the demonic influence. This holiday is not of God. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John2:15
It's one of the oldest Christian Holy Days, part of the Triduum. Read my post. Satan uses every Jewish and Christian Holy Day because satan doesn't have any... Godspeed ❤️
I can understand why he would react that way. Many times when someone says they have to give something up, it's often followed by them telling you why you shouldn't do it either.
For me personally as Christian I do not do anything on Halloween, I was convicted years ago from The Holy Spirit. however I have not and will not judge people who do things differently then I do. I believe it is a personal decision and we should respect each other’s beliefs/convictions.
God word say we shouldn't Deuteronomy chapter 18; 9, 10, 11, 12 13, 14. I tell everyone to google it i, i used to work at a hospital people was putting raze blaze in apples and candy they told people to come and have it xray before they eat it. Most people today is scares to tell people the truth God word is for everyone , we know that some won't except his word. Matthew 6: 33.
We lived in the San Antonio area at one time and our church always had a fall party on halloween. The youth would put together booths in the class rooms and in the activity hall there were lots of games and food going on. Out side the parents had their trunks decorated and the kids got to go around trunk or treating. It was awesome because that was it. Our kids did not go around to the neighbors or around town trick or treating. The rule was that no one could paint their faces and no one could dress up in evil costumes. It was a blast, innocent and satisfying for the whole family.
The best thing to someone’s question is direct them to what the Bible directs such as 1 Cor 10:21. Or simply ask what would Jesus do. Then you’d answer your own question. Kids can’t make decisions because they are still learning from us parents.
Listening to all the podcasts and hearing the way you speak about church... I see you guys having a Christian ranch in the future the helps people! My cousin owns milestone ranch in Blum tx. I see you guys having a place similar to that. I see you bringing the addiction help you speak of, into your church and help people at your place... hints why I think you guys started with building out the barn 🤷 Just my opinion, but super awesome!
Our church has an Oct 31st party for our community. We have seen many saved through this outreach. BUT I also believe you must follow your own convictions that are from God. I also believe that the local church needs to get involved in recovery program. We have churches in our Area that have wonderful programs that are for the whole community. One has a men's and women's home. Good discussion today.
We go to a Missionary Alliance church that hosts a great pumpkin party every year. Numerous bounce houses, carnival games, a hay ride, Photo Booth, and lots and lots of candy being given out. People dress up in family friendly costumes and everyone in the community is welcome to this event. Numerous families start attending our church, because of this event. Our children LOVED going every year. They have outgrown it as our youngest is in middle school. As a family on Halloween we all dress up in family friendly costumes and go visit the Grandparents, aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, and very close friends. Our children get unbelievable amounts of treats and gifts by just stopping at those 10-15 houses. To me this eliminates the yuckiness that can be associated with Halloween.
Growing up, I never once went trick r treating. I never dressed up. I'm 28 now, and I never felt like I was missing out. Idk about yall, but my church always had harvest festivals on the night of Halloween, and it was always a great time games for the kids, pot luck, white elephant.
I think Halloween should be a teaching tool and used for that to explain the difference between good and evil. I do believe if you treat it like I did that you dress up as good---princesses and cowboys and such and keep it in perspective then Halloween is ok. We do a trunk or treat at our church with families getting together and dressing up as someone biblical. We use it as a teaching tool like that. Also each kid can tell the trunkers a bible verse and get an extra candy. It is treated more as a celebration for fall and the harvest. Also a lesson for kids to learn about the bounties of this time of year. We also bring in a ton of pumpkins representing the harvest. If taught and kept in perspective, I feel like it is ok. I also see keeping things from kids puts more emphasis on what you are trying to keep from them. I would rather use it as a lesson. My best friend use to keep candy from her kids. When they did get to have it they wanted to gorge themselves with it. One of her little girls would wake up out of a sound sleep if she heard a candy wrapper being opened. When she finally did let them have candy, it became not such a big deal and their interest in it became a whole lot less. I call it the apple syndrome. If adults couldn't resist, how do you expect kids? Just lose it as a teaching tool and why it is wrong to dress as demons and such. Love you guys! You're Texas neighbor in the hill country!
I think the only thing Christians should do is like some do just hand out fliers but I think there should be a group of people doing worship and having prayer night over the people on Halloween.. to get more info watch the Richard T. Railey videos about Halloween on his page
My church does a fall festival with decorated car trunks, and it's called trunk o treat. There's games, and hot dogs and hot chocolate. This gives the kids an opportunity to enjoy the fall and fun of being with kids of like belief and not missing out of fun of treats.
Christianity renamed Christmas from yule ( mid winter) Easter was co-opted from spring equinox. We can dominate this one also celebrate biblical martyrs. Shine that hand out bible verses to the people or Church business cards. Say hi. Say God bless you.
@j...bro. partially true. Xmas nor Easter was never renamed. The dates were move to comform with current calendar events of that time by various Catholic Pope's The Eastern Orthodox use a different calendar. From the Western Catholic Churches. Funny how the Western Churches adopted the majority of Paul's writings from the Eastern Church in the KING JAMES AND REVISED KJ BIBLE 🤔 Paul started Haga Sophia in Mesopotamia before Peter started the church in Roman. According to folklore (oral traditions of the Christian church), the pagans adapted Christian Holidays for their benefit. May the Peace of the Lord be always with you... Godspeed ☠️👻🎃❤️
What do you think what I should do ? I ship Ethan and Marine from return to Halloweetown I’ve shipped them since childhood my mom and aunt does not want me to make that couple anymore Marnie is a good witch.. but she’s more like a queen with magic powers my mom and aunt doesn’t want me to go to the Halloweentown I do like fantasy and fairytales
We do Halloween with cute things and lots of pumpkins and yes candy. We don't have things that are scary or gross. We just treat it like it's Fall and Thanksgiving.
This isn't necessarily something that married couples with dual incomes consider. I just think Halloween is a tremendous waste of money. You go to multiple parties, maybe 3-4 over a Halloween weekend. Each one is themed differently so you're supposed to buy a new costume for each or tailor a costume and it's like $40 per. I know people in dire financial straits who own many halloween costumes, it's absurd.
Hi! I am being blessed by the podcasts I've watched so far! Praise the Lord! Granger, I 100% agree with you about AA. AA was founded by a person who did a séance while on LSD which brought forth the BIG BOOK they use (it was spirit led, but NOT by God's Spirit). It has an occult background. My father was an alcoholic. Albeit he stopped drinking due to AA, he NEVER fixed the underlying issues....SIN. Although he raised us Catholic (won't go there on that non-Christian religion), AA made him drift from God and made God some higher power he could make up to suit his needs. One of the very steps is to turn your life over to God AS YOU UNDERSTAND HIM. What that means is, if you want God to be a doorknob....then he is a doorknob. It causes idolatry and teaches relative truth rather than objective truth....Jesus is the only Truth! It sent my dad on years and years of "soul searching", spiritualism and caused him to create his very own god/religion. Fast forward to me (47 yrs old July 2021) crying out to Jesus and then saved. Praise Him for His mercy!! After that I spent months and months trying to get my dad to see the lies he was believing....he would argue with me that I was wrong and he knew better. After prayers to God to humble my prideful father, February 2023 my father was fatally hit by a car up the road from his house. He had a massive brain bleed and swelling. He was unresponsive for a week. After more begging and prayer that God would have him HEAR me, the Lord woke him up the day we were going to let him go. He was 100% cognitive and shook his head yes to every question I asked him. He didn't make it but was alive for two days. The Lord gifted him mercy. And I know the Holy Spirit worked to convict him. I don't know where my father's heart was 100%, but I trust my God is good and righteous. With that said...I'm 100% convinced AA was the beginning of the end for my father...and I believe it's a detriment more than a help. As you said, Jesus is the ONLY one who can save us and fix us. AA only deals w/ the surface but not the underlying CAUSE of addiction which is undoubtedly SIN. I look forward to more podcast! God bless you!!! - Jennifer
You nailed it as far as convictions, I allowed mine to dress up for Halloween and we did Santa and I personally see nothing wrong with either but that is me. I was brought up in a Christian home as we raised our child in a Christmas home. We are for sure to be apart from the world but have to tread lightly when children are younger. It can come across that being a Christian takes out the fun. I love what you all did last Halloween. My child is grown and I help with Fall Festival at my church on Halloween night. We use it as a time to minister and meet people in our small southern town.
I didn't grow up in a Christian Home and we have always done Halloween. My kids dress up and go trick or treating. Costumes are not anything scary and we give out candy, hot chocolate and coffee. Every other year our church does a fall festival. Everyone's convictions are different. I have friends who do not participate at all.
Had this discussion with a friend the other day. He doesnt know the Lord and thought it was crazy that we didnt celebrate Halloween. I also told him though, just becasue i dont, doesn't mean you cant. It os just my conviction for my family.
I think it can be used to glorify God. Churches put on trunk or treats and halloween events all the time and its all fun and innocent. The original Christmas tree was used in a pagan ceremony. as long as were not dumping blood on the Christmas tree and worshipping Satan I think a Christmas tree is innocent. its just a tree. Just like halloween is just a chance for your kids to dress up like their favorite character. As far as my family goes my kids will never dress like demons or killers. It will be a day for candy and imagination to be their favorite super hero and we'll celebrate at church events. this is all IMO obviously. Love y'all!
A lot of the things we celebrate blindly have evil roots. Some ppl dont think we should be celebrating thanksgiving either. Its all about perspective in my opinion. Ppl will and honestly should do what they think is best instead of blindly doing what some celebrity or church leader says. Pray and ask for guidance.
Christmas isn’t a Christian holiday either. No one knows the day Jesus was born. What should be discussing is whether the way a person celebrates Halloween violates the word of God.
When we die it is too late for anyone to get save you cannot repent when you dead . i wouldn't wast my time praying for the dead to late. Yes most of my family is dead some was saved some wasn't .
Do you do Santa in your house? Recently I have felt convicted about not lying to my children about Santa. If I lie about something simple, how can they trust me with bigger things? They still get the same amount of stuff. We still have imagination and stories about Santa. But we don’t say “Santa came into our house and dropped off these presents.” What are your thoughts?
I gave up Halloween, Christmas, and Easter 3 to 4 years ago...sadly my mother who is Christian thinks im taking away from my son and he doesnt understand sincr hes Autistic and sees friends in school celebrating.
I've noticed that the Lord has called many people out of the man made traditions. It's been about 4ish years that my family has stopped christmas, halloween and easter as well. We celebrate God's Feasts as he commanded instead. It's actually been a blessing and much more peaceful and enjoying! So many have been decieved that God has just changed and it's okay for us since we are grafted in, to do what we want and to worship how we see fit! Too many people do things based on emotion and tradition when the Word tells us that our heart will deceive! I don't know any loving parent, who is going to have laws and rules for their children to abide by and then adopt another child-whom they also love.. and let them do whatever makes them happy! No, they are going to be expected to all abide by the parents rules! Unfortunately though, many don't want to see it. It is a lonely road but don't be shaken or discouraged! Jesus will walk it with you! Remember, many are called but few are chosen and the path is narrow! But stay on the path that leads to everlasting life!! Also, in the new kingdom.. are we going to be partaking in christmas, easter, or halloween? Nope! But we will God's appointed Feasts!
Your heart is in the right place. But it's okay to celebrate/ remember both Feast & Lesser Feast under the New Covenant given by Christ. As we should celebrate/remember all Feast from the old Covenant too. Satan tries to piggyback on Jewish & Christian Holy Days since satan doesn't have any...
One I think it is okay that you are reading old questions not previously responded to from your Amber questions folder. When I grew up and I'm older than Granger to me halloween was just a night of dressing up in a costume to get free candy and yes when I was young I believed in Santa and the Easter Bunny but I also new from a young age that Christmas was Jesus' birthday and Easter was a celebration of his resurrection. To the man who wrote in about the struggles he and the wife had conceiving before being blessed I know of a couple she being about 20 years younger than her husband who is my age and they live off the taxpayers and they have 7 kids and expecting 2 more any day now. It makes me mad that they keep popping out kids and live off the government and when I was younger and wanted children I was only ever blessed with one. Back then I was mad that I couldn't have more, mad that the one I was blessed with came at a very bad time of my life. Now that I am older and my life is different I am glad my one and only was the only one cause more would have kept me connected to those I would not want in my life now but also I would not have connections I have now. Does it still anger me of this couple that keeps popping out kids yep but I also know there is nothing I can do about it so I just try to move on and soon I will really be moving and start building new friendships in the new neighborhood and church in the new state that will be home.
I disagree with what you told that young man about his Dad, & the reason I do is because what the WORD say's In Luke 16:26 In the NKJV That there is a great Gulf fixed so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us. Once a person has passed from this life they are sealed in what ever state they passed away in.... I understand the hurt & the wanting to have your parents saved, I have both of my parents that went to a dead Church, that they believed you were either picked for heaven or you weren't & there wasn't a thing you could do about it. And That is NOT what the WORD of GOD Say's at all but that is what they died believing, so are they in Heaven? I honestly can't say that they are they never referred to God or Jesus by their names it was always the Man up stairs. That speaks loud & clear to me that they were not saved, because No One that is saved would ever talk about God or Jesus using that term. Now about Halloween, We have to look at this day or the group of days as Satan sees them, not as we see them. these days are set aside for Satan, they are HIS MOST HOLY OF HOLY DAYS, where he is Honored & there are Blood Sacrifices done on these days in his honor, look up how the Satanic world looks at Halloween & you'll never question again if you should allow your kids to take part in it. When my kids were little and growing up we took them out to dinner & sometimes to a movie depending on if we could find one that was ok, or we'd take them to PUTT PUTT & to the DQ & I'd buy them candy to have at home, but I never let them take part in any thing that would give or that would bring Satan Glory.......
We lived in an area that had an active coven of witches. They did human sacrifices. Halloween was especially a time of increasd demonic activity. No, we do not celebrate Halloween, needless to say. We cannot celebrate a Holiday that celebrates evil. The question I ask is, why is this Holiday so important to Christians that they argue over it?
NOTE; That while we Can Pray for those whom are still here with us to accept Jesus and come to Salvation, we Cannot however pray for anyone whom has passed away to go to heaven. Salvation is a personal decision that can 9nly be made while alive here on earth!!! There is no place in the Scriptures where it says that we can pray for the dead in fact it says we are not to pray for the dead.
Much love ❤
Very well said ❤
Halloween, it's one of the oldest Christian Holy Days, part of the Triduum... Satan jumps on every Jewish and Christian Holy Day because satan doesn't have any...

So God bless you for taking this topic on.🌻
Thanks for speaking on the failures of the church. We can only do better when issues are acknowledged. YeeYee ❤️❤️❤️
Granger and Amber,
I really appreciate your response to the Halloween question.
I am blessed to be part of a church family that supports and promotes Celebrate Recovery.
Conviction is from the Lord. He don't change. If he Convicted you about something. That is forever
My friend we can’t retrospectively pray for someone’s salvation. When someone dies that’s it. And that’s why it is so gravely important to share the gospel while they are ALIVE!😊
Halloween is NOT a holiday.
One of the oldest Christian Holy Days from the time Stephen was martyred & John was beheaded. It's part of the Triduum.
Halloween = the eve of All Hallows Day
Hallows = Holy
I hope this helps and you remember your Christian friends & family that have gone ahead into eternity on this High Holy Day in the the Christian Church.
Neither where christmas and Easter the saved co-opted Christianity into pagan rituals so can we bring the good news into Halloween. This a chance to let your light show in a world of darkness. On their darkest night.
If you're not going to celebrate Halloween just don't celebrate no holidays pagen holidays
300-400 AD
May the Peace of the Lord be always with you, Godspeed ☠️👻🎃❤️
Me personally I don't think halloween is godly because if you think about it god isn't about monsters and goblins or anything scary. But with that being said I do celebrate halloween With my kids they love dressing up and going and getting candy we have a church not far from us and they have food and activities for the kids and everything and so that's what we do every year ❤❤❤❤❤
Great video! Love that Amber was the guest. Ya'll are an awesome team!
The podcasts with amber are the best. Thank are for putting these out every Monday. God bless
Amber is one of my favorite guests!!! I remember growing up as Catholic as a little girl. We always had to go to mass for All Saints Day before we would get to go trick or treating. 🤪
I am no longer Catholic for many other reasons but I do understand not celebrating the demonic aspect of it. Ya’ll are so good together!!! ❤
That is a BIG NO on Halloween for my family. The demonic holiday has never been part of our family.
It's one of the oldest Christian Holy Days, part of the Triduum.

It's actually not demonic...

Celebrate Recover > AA ❤️
@@WarriorX-xq8nnyou can find something evil in everything. Let's face it your ancestors likely committed crimes against humanity
Once you look into the dark history and see the symbolic meaning of Halloween you won’t look bad at saying no for your family. Even pumpkins and carving is part of the dark art of Halloween. We celebrated for years but had to stop.
Amen sister!
Its all very dark. This video goes into some things about Halloween I never heard before th-cam.com/video/ur27-Iws-AA/w-d-xo.html

I grew up without Halloween and didn't miss it. We traveled or went to our church's harvest party
Not to mention the woke churches that are emerging
Christianity renamed Christmas from yule ( mid winter) Easter was co-opted from spring equinox. We can dominate this one also celebrate biblical martyrs. Shine that hand out bible verses to the people or Church business cards. Say hi. Say God bless you.
Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them.
Some churches have Fall festivals. It's a celebration of Fall not Halloween.
There's nothing Pagan about the longest and shortest day
Thank you for this 😭🙌🏼🙏🏻♥️ PLEASE MORE ON FORGIVING YOURSELF!!!(or on how we can’t)
We do the same.
Any holiday is what you make it. In every home in America each holiday is a little different. We each have our own traditions.
I feel that way too. My Son Son said to me please Mommy don't take this away from me. So I am Convicted about it.
Love you guys together on the podcast! God Bless! ❤️🙏❤️
I agree totally. We also didn’t have our son believe in Santa Claus ever. It is Jesus Birthday.
So you just decorate your house with holly and pine boughs and have removed Jesus from December 25th? That is what you are doing by removing the Christian meaning behind All Hallows Eve aka Halloween and just celebrating the pagan celebration to honor the god of the harvest! You are letting evil win.
❤
Christmas isn’t the day of Jesus’s birthday.
I did not do this. Christmas is Jesus Birthday
@@zerohecks4864 I’m sure it isn’t, but it’s the day set aside to celebrate it!
You Two Have Great Answers on this Issues 😊😊😊😊
I grew up in rural Indiana where my father farmed. Fall was so special because it meant harvest of all of his hard work. We celebrated Halloween more as Fall and even had a special family night. We even pulled taffy and had games. I never once thought of demons. I taught my sons the the same. This comes from a midwest farmer's daughter who got spanked for playing tag in the sanctuary. My Father meant business!❤
Great podcast
Would love to hear your thoughts on Christians celebrating Christmas and Jeremiah 10
When it rains it rains on the just and the unjust. Wow! Love that.
Full moons have interesting increases in stat's for human behaviour.
The best thing people can do is totally ignore all social media, it has ruined the world.
I agree. There are some positives but the negatives far outweigh the positives.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ centered 12 step program a good alternative to AA
We celebrate reformation day
Thanks Griz,,🙏🙏
What’s up man haven’t watched these in forever
Listening to all the podcasts and hearing the way you speak about church... I see you guys having a Christian ranch in the future the helps people! My cousin owns milestone ranch in Blum tx. I see you guys having a place similar to that. I see you bringing the addiction help you speak of, into your church and help people at your place... hints why I think you guys started with building out the barn 🤷
Just my opinion, but super awesome!
I am Lutheran and we celebrate reformation Day on
Oct 31.
Don’t fast late specially, with your kids
Our church has an Oct 31st party for our community. We have seen many saved through this outreach. BUT I also believe you must follow your own convictions that are from God.
I also believe that the local church needs to get involved in recovery program. We have churches in our Area that have wonderful programs that are for the whole community. One has a men's and women's home.
Good discussion today.
🙌
Granger!! Saw you in Albuquerque! Much love! I will email you for some stuff I have goin on in life! God bless y’all! ❤
in my family we just get Halloween candy when it is on sale
Lots of churches have trunk or treats kids can go to
I think Halloween should be a teaching tool and used for that to explain the difference between good and evil.
Of course it’s not okey
My church does a fall festival with decorated car trunks, and it's called trunk o treat. There's games, and hot dogs and hot chocolate. This gives the kids an opportunity to enjoy the fall and fun of being with kids of like belief and not missing out of fun of treats.
Its a Halloween celebration. It’s ok, you can say it. Why are people so soft and convinced of scary religious stuff. It’s pretty freakin silly 😂

@j...bro. partially true. Xmas nor Easter was never renamed. The dates were move to comform with current calendar events of that time by various Catholic Pope's The Eastern Orthodox use a different calendar. From the Western Catholic Churches.
Funny how the Western Churches adopted the majority of Paul's writings from the Eastern Church in the KING JAMES AND REVISED KJ BIBLE 🤔
Paul started Haga Sophia in Mesopotamia before Peter started the church in Roman. According to folklore (oral traditions of the Christian church), the pagans adapted Christian Holidays for their benefit.

Honestly, I wait till all the candy is on sale the next day. 🤪
Granger Smith I have a question my church is having a fall festival candy and all decorations on cars candy is that a sin
If you research Halloween you’ll find even the candy had an original purpose for Halloween.
" go to hell fear " ....
Love y'all!
It's one of the oldest Christian Holy Days, part of the Triduum.
Paul said When I go to Rome I am a Roman. But he was still always a Christian. Rome turned to believe christ. Be like Paul.
We don’t want to do Halloween we feel convicted
We hate Halloween at our house. Our church doesn’t celebrate it and we call it fall harvest festival.
What about Christian’s having tattoos?
Will London not being doing her YT channel?
Christmas isn’t a Christian holiday either. No one knows the day Jesus was born. What should be discussing is whether the way a person celebrates Halloween violates the word of God.
A kid dressing as Spider-Man or SpongeBob and eating candy is not violating shit. Get over yourself
Everything about "Christmas" is a lie, beginning with the date.
I gave up Halloween, Christmas, and Easter 3 to 4 years ago...sadly my mother who is Christian thinks im taking away from my son and he doesnt understand sincr hes Autistic and sees friends in school celebrating.
My mom thinks I'm trying to be Jewish

Is Granger reading comments today? ✋
I don't like Halloween so I don't pass candy out
