My guess is that that they wanted killer so they picked no one to see what will happen, that or they were just curious (I would've done the same after the NM route- I love him-). I honestly thought there was going to be the option of literally not choosing anyone so if you do that, killer would stare at them on their screen like "then why the hell are you here????" and then it would've ended there with the "CONGRATULATIONS! YOU WASTED YOUR DAMN TIME!"
