South Western Railway Class 158 and Class 159 are very nice trains. Very reliable and smooth.

I was using the Waterloo-Reading line at the weekend was quite cool to see 159s on the line - I think they're lovely trains to ride!

BR built, and built too last too, you won't see the IETs in service for more than 20 years I bet you!

The original SWT seats on those trains are absolutely amazing. So comfortable. Just a shame that the new SWR seat moquette are so uncomfortable and firm, shame as all the other fleet wouldve had the old moquette. These trains are just great for comfort. I love the motors on these trains as well, used to always get excited to see one of these trains arrive into woking and listen to the loud powerful engines as they depart as a young kid 😂.

Great video and review, good value for money as well for that trip. The first class section looks really nice 👍

It's probably the best regional first class in the country!

If you know where to look there are seats with extra legroom!

Sometimes on engineering weekends, weird services like this start operations

As I may have mentioned before, I lived in Twick'nam (sorry Twickenham, for the posh) until I left for uni.
Daniel triggered this memory: On Twickenham Station, the announcements were made by voice by platform staff, the one I remember most was "Alder Wa'erloo except North Sheen". 🤣

I wish they brought back a trolley service with drinks & light refreshments :(

I personally wouldn’t say the 159s are terrible in standard class - room for improvement for sure but I’d pick these over the 7xx trains and possibly the 8xx series - I think the 444s are probably more modern but neither touch the 442 - best long distance train ever on the SWR network

Never got to try the 442s unfortunately but heard they're good. I just find the 159s in standard to be a bit cramped, i really like the 444s and in all honesty provide a greater level of comfort then the IEPs

@@danielstripreports the 444s are well built trains (very much based on the 442 design) - I really like them

@@AnthonyFurnival the class 442s and 444s have a great design

You should release two videos per week. That is what popular TH-cam Creator Jack Jack Productions does

Well I'm quite restrained with GCSEs round the corner, I am aiming to get to 2 videos a week from now, got a race from green park to Heathrow to see what's faster the tube or tfl rail. I have Avanti Vs lner first class coming up as well as comparing the 3 ways to get to Birmingham from London by train, those will be released on a Monday as bonus videos with Friday being reserved for trip reports. Post GCSEs I'm aiming to do 2 trip reports a week.
