Thank you. I've seen a lot of overly complicated demonstrations online but you were straight to the point and precise.

You did a very nice job explaining. I’m in an OT Program now and a few of the landmarks are different. Our professors told us to place the axis inferior to the lateral malleolus and align the moveable arm parallel to the sole of the heel because the metatarsals can allow for more or less movement

arent inversion and eversion measured in neutral position of the tibiotalar joint? in order to avoid movements at the ankle joint and so that all the inversion-eversion happens at the subtalar joint??

You should be measuring the RoM from Neutral position. You can clearly see that that's a LOT more than 5 degrees of dorsiflection. Anyway, i was just here to check out which points you use for orientation.

Don't you need to remember the neutral position of the foot for doors/plantar flexion measurements? You measured dorsi and plantar but was that from 0?

Steven,This is a great question. You do not need to physically place the foot in zero degrees (neutral DF/PF) prior to measuring. However, to get an accurate measurement, you must read your goniometer from the correct neutral starting point. There are many starting points or "zeroes" on a goniometer, and you need to know which one you are using for each joint motion within the body.

Do you read the red numbers for dorsiflexion/plantarflexion

You use the smaller goniometer for the ankle, which generally does not have two separate sets of numbers (black and red). You just need to make sure that when you read the goniometer, you start it from a 90 degree position (ankle neutral). Does this help?

Um but what I’ve learned the range for foot inversion is about 30 degree and eversion is about 25 degree😅

seriously - why don't you just reshoot these whole 2 minutes - why would you upload such a badly produced "duh" language, white washed video when it comes to health care - truly - i've now seen it all... yuck!
