  • Rock Mushrooms, Radkowskie Rocks in the Table Mountains
In the fairy-tale pine forest studded with mushroom-shaped rock formations of the Góry Stołowe National Park
On the Polish side of the sandstone world along the Czech-Polish border, one of the natural attractions of the Table Mountains (Góry Stołowe) National Park is Skalne Grzyby (Mushroom Rocks), an area covered with pine forest, characterized by bizarre rock formations hidden in dense pine forests. As a result of erosion, we can discover this unusual landscape on cozy tourist roads winding comfortably between 5-6 m high sandstone formations that resemble hat mushrooms.
The length of the tour: 6.5 km
Duration of the tour: 2 hours
Difference in level: 90 m up, the same down
    Starting point:
Batorówek, parking lot, one and a half km north of the village of Batorów. The Mushroom Rocks are located on the eastern edge of the National Park, looking at the map it seems like an obvious approach to go directly to Batorów from the main national road of the NP, the road between Kudowa Zdrój and Radków, on the access road branching off south of Karłów, but this road is in terrible condition, max. can be walked with a good off-road vehicle. It's worth avoiding a bit, it takes approx. After 1 km, take the road leading to Duszniki Zdrój, on which after the village of Łężica, turn left towards Szczytna. After entering Szczytná, we turn left and reach Batorów.
    Nature of the tour:
An easy, simple walking tour on well-marked, well-maintained tourist roads and paths with a minimal level difference.
    Description of the tour
The Batorówek parking lot is located on the edge of a beautiful clearing with a rain shelter, we take the gravel road marked Blue and Yellow to the pine forest. After a comfortable 8-10 minute walk, we reach a fork in the road, we turn right from the wide carriageway (towards Rogacz) onto the cozy forest path marked Yellow, which soon leads through the truly astonishing red scum of the Czerwona Woda (Red Water). We follow the stream for a while, then we wander along a pleasant forest footpath.
We cross a carriage road, then we also switch to a wider road, but later, keeping slightly to the left, the yellow signs lead further into the forest, where the first rock formations already appear. Our path turning west soon reaches the barely noticeable cone of Rogacz (684 m), then we cross the tourist road marked Red at a sheltered cottage. We stay on the cozy footpath marked with yellow stripes, and more and more often we see specially shaped boulders on the side of the road or a little further into the forest.
Our path, covered with a soft carpet of conifers, winds through a fairy-tale forest, between bizarre rock formations, towers, mushrooms, and walls. At the next fork in the road with a sign, we reach the tourist road marked Blue, we turn right towards Karlów, the Yellow and approx. follow the blue signs for another 400 meters. This section also contains fantastic sandstone cliffs, at the next junction the Yellow and Blue signs separate, we continue to follow the Yellow towards Karłów, but we can make a detour to the viewpoint on top of the rock called Pielgrzym, which is approx. It is 900 m away on the road marked Blue.
Continuing along the Sárga út, our pleasant forest path meanders between more magical stone mushrooms, rock needles, and towers. After one and a half km, the Red sign joins us on the right, and after a few steps we reach a signposted intersection at a rain shelter. We say goodbye to the Yellow road, turn left onto the wide carriage road marked with a Red lane in the direction of Rogacz. Another carriageway joins the road that slowly turns to the southeast from the right, and after a comfortable walk we reach a Y-shaped junction. The red marked road leads to the left here, stay on the right branch, the wide unmarked road, into which the Blue lane tourist road enters from the left after a few minutes. Staying straight on the gravel road, following the blue signs, we soon reach the well-known junction, from where the yellow road joins us, and we reach our starting point at the Batorówek parking lot.
