I say give the guy a shot. Bedard spoke highly of him for what that's worth, he's not a scout with years of experience looking for these intangibles in prospects, but he did play against him in a league he dominated, and said he was one of the harder players to play against.
The fact that Bedard said he was the hardest center to play against is encouraging and in my future comment spot it looks like ND has a more positive offensive game than we thought
I think you all sounded very similar when reviewing the Carter mazur pick. Over age, low ceiling grinder/200 footer. Now he's one of our most promising prospects and rose dramatically
You at least have to admire the fact that these three, especially Brad and Evan, seemingly have no issue with making idiotic public comments and being grossly wrong with most of their takes. I mean...up until about 5 months ago Brad had spent the past 5 years dying on the hill that Rasmussen was no better than an AHL player.
I love the insights you guys offer, but at what point can we start giving Stevie the benefit of the doubt. You all said the same sort of things about Seider when he was drafted. Have you watched the interview with Danielson from last night. Seems like a super mature, intense kid with a big upside.
Offensive upside???? Big guy, late birthday playing against his peer age group with top line minutes and he scored 78 points in 68 games which is anything but impressive for a guy in the top third of this draft in particular. Have to hope that very meh offense is due to his teammates being not very good because I see this pick aging about as well as the Zadina one.
Will have to get back filled for this day’s picks due to family commitments. Enjoy the drama today, folks. Hope Danielson makes us feel dumb. Totally fine at 17 for me, but I can see the appeal if the upside is there. I really liked St. Louis’s picks with Dvorsky, Stenberg, and Lindstein. I would have liked us going with Moore and trading back into the first to snag a D. Maybe they go after Danny Nelson, Riley Heidt, or Whitelaw and Dragicevic.
Dude, the discussion on how heavy Danielson or Sandin-Pelikka or whoever is when they're drafted is one of the most regressive and retarded discussions possible. So many kids grow like 30 lbs the year or two after they're drafted. It literally means nothing
I could care less about weight, I'd have happily taken Benson at 9 and he's quite small, but unlike Danielson he has actual offensive ability, an area that the Wings currently are devoid of.
I absolutely hate this pick when Dvorsky was still available. Seems like they gave up on so much potential just to get a righty. As basically all scouts seem to think Danielson has a 2nd line center ceiling and from their interviews it sounds like Yzerman and Draper has the same idea. Meanwhile Dvorsky has the same 3rd line floor as Danielson has, but he definitely has the potential to become a 1st line goal scoring center. And he's younger, more experienced and further along in his development. You don't get many chances to pick up potential 1st line centers, at least if you intend on becoming a better team any time soon and not keep picking in the top 10.
Danielson will now win the Calder and the Wings social admins will use this lol

Some of These comments aged like milk

I remember when I wanted Pat Lafontaine over Stevie Yzerman because he scored more goals.
To be fair, Lafontaine was a great player in his own right
they both the same level of player..
PP..last min of game situations..
CLUTCH PLAYS!
@@kYA00hthey were not the same level of player

We desperately needed a right-handed Center
yeah the Danielson's pick is so intriguing especially at 9
right shot?
left handed?
different brain resourcing..probably a playmaker?
never seen this kid play

Guy was a captain at 17, dude seems dialed in 24/7

He’s a pass first player just needs to shoot the puck
Ryan - I was right ! Evan - Uh oh 😂 you guys are awesome
Listening to the Podcast since a few months and now looking into the faces for the first time 😅
Always great coverage and interesting views to me
crazy how low almost all the guys you have listed went drafted much later than expected

Interesting that Moore is ranked after Danielson for NA Skaters.

Same muppets crying over the Seider pick. 🤦🏻
