As an avid gym-rat, aspiring strongman, and student currently taking a lot of math/physics, it is impossible to not respect the ease with which this man converts his massive, stored potential energy into violently explosive kinetic energy (drugs or no drugs). Truly fucking impressive man
8 years later and I still haven’t found a deadlift video that amps me up the way this one does. It makes me want to eat my fucking barbell, every time.
during the time of this video, there was at least one commenter going around all the most well known 'underground' so to speak lifters channels and posting straight bait/trolling. there was a video during this time where pete actually went in on the commenter verbally and then he deleted the video that same day. it was just a troll trying to get under pete's skin and pete let it be known how he felt about the commenter as seen in this video and the one i'm talking about that we may never be able to see again unless it's out there somehow or maybe pete still has it of course
Pete, your an animal! It is amazing to see how the bar bends when you lift that 780 pounds. Again, I am predicting that you will be the first person to pull 1,000 pounds off of the floor at your body weight or at a body weight not much more than what you currently weigh. You really inspire me to lift!
Great lifts, Pete. Here's a new challenge: Put on some classical music, take perhaps Beethoven's 8th symphony, and see if you're able to lift in similar fashion. Post results.
Actually I was going to start making videos in the future, just want to lay out a good channel and upgrade a camera for better quality before I get started
LOL....that 225lb reaction cracked me up. Was like you were thinking...**what is this garbage..ahhhhh, need more weight** lol. Pete, gotta tell u man, I get so amped when i see your vids. Thanks for the inspiration.
2023, this video is what got me started doing regular compounds after I started in the gym 5 years ago “YOU LIKE THAT SHIT YEAH TALK SHIT NOW” Forever a goat and I love to come back to Pete when I look at the people in the fitness industry today
There is no fakeness whatsoever in Pete's behavior after the 780 for a triple. He isn't messing around, there is no joking around, this is serious and he means it.
I love everything about this video. The music, the ghetto washroom basement setup, how you throw the weights down to the floor like you hate them. Watching this before every deadlift day dude, keep it up!
I forget the term, but the way the plates are spinning during those rows makes it even harder, as opposed to them being stable. crazy strength. misc classic.
Who seriously goes onto someone else's video just to hate when that person doesn't do anything but mind their own business? Thanks for the videos Pete, some of us really enjoy them!
Dude I love the intensity. Really shows your passion for lifting. Think I'll watch this video before my deadlift days in the wendler program. Speaking of which, Have you tried Wendler?
Has anyone else noticed how the bar has to move back over mid foot before it leaves the ground? His first rep: he pulls, the bar moves over mid foot, then the bar leaves the ground. Also, on the third rep he hit the ground a little too far forward, and the bar has to again slightly move back over mid foot. It's weird how you start to notice this stuff once you've seen a video 1000 times.
Benedikt Magnusson, the strongest deadlifter of all time, does touch-and-go reps. Richard Hawthorne, possibly the strongest pound-for-pound deadlifter in the world, does touch-and-go reps. There must be something to it.
pete go more crazy on your warm ups please, i actually paused before you did 135, because i was legit excited to see the damage done to that puny weight. MOAR PETE
Skxptical 1.in the video i mentioned he looks quite small, i doubt a genetic freak like pete would look so small whilst on gear. 2 in the following 5-6 months he blows up and his deadlift goes from low 7's to 800+ pounds and it is within this time frame that he has said he began using. 3 you have to realize that much like any other human trait there is a bell curve for strength/size potential and the rate at which it can be added and for these traits atleast on the deadlift pete is at the far right of the bell curve. even if some people can never reach 700lb deadlift even on gear doesn't mean that genetic outliers like pete do not exist.
