Thanks for the review Jenny - I have a No.17 (short version) and a No.19 and No. 20 (long versions) in the green and cream livery. They are fabulous coaches - the best rolling stock items I have ever seen produced by Peco. They are more detailed and sophisticated than the bug box coaches and they run very well. There are no body fit, or other quality problems, with my examples. I'm looking forward to picking up No18 in the Col. Stephens green livery when it becomes available.
Thank you for covering OO9 models! Slight correction though, both the long and short versions came out at the same time, 2 liveries so far. I have all 4 in the Victorian livery and they look great.
I have fond memories of travelling on these when I visited the Ffestiniog in 2012. These were very ahead of their time - early bogie carriages, and early use of the bow siding principle.
The sides and ends of the coach are moulded in a tan colour. The main livery colour is painted on. The end parts of the body are held in place with a pin on the inside which can be seen when the roof is off. A gentle push on the ends opposite the pin should close up the gaps you have found on your model.
This one (Ffestiniog) is in Wales, not England. It's 1ft 11.5 inch gauge. There are many different narrow gauge railways in the UK with different gauges, but 1'11.5", 2'3" and 2'6" seem to be the most common.
£60 for a 6 inch coach, not a chance, no lights, no passengers, wonky sides. I know they will sell as 009 has been starved for years, every other layout at exhibitions is now 009. But I am sure you have seen acurascale new coaches at about the same price? Even Hornby & Hattons genesis coaches at half the price. I really think they are way too expensive.
I have 3 of these bowsiders and mine are fine construction wise. Cost wise....i dont mind paying fifty odd quid for a nice looking coach that you dont have to build up and paint yourself. I remember the old white metal gem 009 coaches, they were pretty crude and as said you would have to carefully build them, paint them and construct the roof yourself...it would take hours and hours. Now i can do half a days overtime at work and hey presto i can buy a superior coach. As JK says they are made in UK and should be supported unlike other companies who make 009, charge more and make it all in China. The more 009 we buy the more companies will produce and save me hours in trying to scratch build something that looks awful😂

Looks good to me. Reminds me of my crazy trip on the Ffestiniog Railway.
My 009 is just in the store, can't wait to be paid and restart the hobby I gave up when I bought a house had a wife and kids.
Will Peco be making this coach in 0-16.5?
narrow gauge railways in England: what is there most? 2ft narrow gauge or 3ft narrow gauge?

Have always liked Peco, but I don't model UK prototypes:( OO9 is great scale/gauge, makes for small layouts which keeps costs down for entry lower.
