Turkey television have made so many historical series and many of them are excellent but the love and attachment we feel with ertugrul series and entire cast is unmatchable ❤️❤️
Best series I have ever seen. I am hooked ... I am in season 4 episode 55. Captivating drama which has some historic basis. The ottoman empire was not achieved easily. We had to defeat so many great armies . Mashallah these people were incredible heroes that have not been remembered in history . And the drama is beautiful and clean. No embarrassing stupid scenes. I am proud of Turkish people and history . Yes very much our brothers.
@Akboga He obviously means Muslims. The basis of the Ottoman Empire was Islam, Turks fought for the Islamic faith so stop trying to be over-smart. We Muslims collectively take pride in our shared history and no one has the right to be bothered by that.
@Akboga Muslims of the sub-continent(and other parts of the world) take pride in Ottoman history because Islam was at the very center of the purpose of establishment of the empire and the spirit of Islam is what sustained the empire, the fact that Ottoman Emperors held the position of Caliphs of the Ummah makes it quite obvious. The history of the Ottoman Empire is primarily a shared Islamic history of Muslims globally and also Turkish history and Turks have all the reasons for taking pride in it, but any Turk who takes pride in it only as a Turk while ignoring their Muslim identity is probably delusional. Also, just to make it clear, Muslims of the subcontinent take pride in Ottoman history not for any lack of great Muslim empires of our own, which everyone is aware of, but the fact that Ottomans kept Islam at the very center of their Empire makes us respect and take pride in them more than the Muslim Empires of our own region. And if you really are hung up with the race, then Delhi Sultanate itself was a Turkish Sultanate and there is no dearth of Turkish blood in the Muslims of the subcontinent. Since the time of the Delhi Sultanate Turks along with Persians, Afghans, Mughals, and later on some groups of new Indian Muslims became a part of the noble classes in the Indian subcontinent, so a lot of richer and other "khandani" Muslims in India/Pakistan have Persian, Turkish and other Central Asian origins
@Akboga We North Indians and Pakistanis have a very mixed racial ancestry hence we tend to not have strong racial-ethnic affiliations. But this makes it easier for us to simply accept a Pan-Islamic identity and hence you will find people from these parts(especially Pakistan) most vocal about global Muslim brotherhood. I being from these parts am not a fan of Muslims celebrating their racial identities and am highly critical of Muslims giving more importance to their racial/ethnic identity more than Islam. But at the same time, I appreciate Turks out of all the most, for maintaining a very healthy balance between celebrating their ethnicity, culture, traditions while maintaining the centrality of Islam in their identity. Persians on the other hand tend to give precedence to their racial identity over Islam(just a personal view, again not applicable to every Persian, just a very broad and general observation). I do agree with your point about Arabs, especially in the context of the way they were used to dismantle the Ottoman Empire by the British. The worst part is that all the national Arab groupings/identities are a very modern, colonial-era construct, seeded by the colonizers to weaken the Ottoman integrity(in which they unfortunately ultimately succeeded). Ultimately I think Muslims should ignore stereotyping people belonging to different ethnic/racial groups, this is the only way to ensure Muslim bonhomie. And these general statements fall flat more often than not when we meet individuals from any of these ethnic/racial groups, we can find Muslims who are very enthusiastic about global Muslim brotherhood from all regions/ethnicities and on the other hand, Muslims who shy away from their Muslim identity also can be found among all ethnic groups and regions.

This becomes clear when they contemplating a political marriage during season 3. Ertugrul was willing to engage in a political marriage in Season 05 but not season 03? Why? Because he was worried he would fail to be equitable and just between his wives? No...purely because of emotional reasons. A good example, was when in Season 04, Sultan Alaedeen Kaykubad gave his fair reasons to why he wanted his son from Ayuubid Princess to be the next in line to take over. He did not let his emotions or romance overtake his decision--that would not be responsible as a leader of the state.
