Competition is good, but to let competition ruin friendship is something else, cole is king, learn from him.
This just my thoughts: their beef over the years have always been friendly and playful but Cole took it out of proportion and realized he disrespected Kendrick and his works. He could either damage his career and lose fans he don't know or damage his friendship and lose someone he know personally. These were my thoughts only because I often got into situations like this with my family and friends. Although I would have apologized in private.
Absolutely accept and respect it, my thing is I just wish he chose to first of all wait for Drake to respond to see if it was really about him or mainly Drake, and then after that decide to either go all in or all out. Either do the speech without apologizing and simply saying hey this ain’t what I’m on, or going all in and being the next coming of Takeover/Ether. Instead he reacted before Drake who’s mainly involved and is in this awkward cringe in-between state after apologizing for it and it’s gonna hurt his legacy and rep badly.
I rock with Cole, but this whole situation is weird. Like, for as high on a pedestal and high vibration as the fan base holds him to, he should've not released that and just called Kendrick. Bro said what he said cause he wanted to say it. I feel like he had some lyrics similar to what I'm about to say: but words are like bullets, once you let wm fly there is no taking them back. I head it, how can I not look at you and think 🤔 how did you truly feel when you said that? I don't either of these men personally nor could I say I know beyond a shadow of a doubt what will happen, but, if I was Kendrick right now? I'm responding/dissing back. The very fact Cole named might delete later shows he was iffy from the jump.. make a decision and stand on it or don't move at all.
He dissed Kendrick on Wax in public so he apologized on in public. You don't call someone's catalog overhyped and boring in front of a crowd and then apologize in private. He did what he needed to do
Imagine during OVO fest during the height of the Drake vs Meek battle… Drake went on stage and apologized for Back 2 Back…. nah he went on there and played all the memes behind him while he performed the song! That’s HIP HOP.

Honestly, I respect both perspectives. On one hand, Cole is a rapper and always raps about how he’ll smoke anyone and all that yadda yadda yadda. I guess he kind of threw that out the window. If you love the competition in Hip-Hop, then this was disappointing. On the other hand, I respect why Cole apologized for the diss. First, Kendrick didn’t disrespect Cole or actually threw out a bar that left us all in shock. Secondly, Cole responded to Kendrick due to the pressure from the world, causing him to say things he didn’t want to say or ones he didn’t believe. One example is when he mentioned Kendrick’s catalog and later admitted that he didn’t want to discredit it. Nobody really agreed with that anyway. So yeah, Cole’s heart wasn’t in this “beef,” so there’s no way we could have gotten a good fight between the two because Cole’s bars wouldn’t be genuine or even good. Drake is the one I’m keeping an eye out for. If Drake were to pull this stunt, then it would affect his image immensely.

It's not that everyone's overly sensitive, it's that Kendrick stoked the coals and made hip hop something to be excited about again after a long period of meandering. He challenged "the top 3" to bring their A game, to help push hip hop and the culture further. It was never about beef, it was about evolution and excitement for everyone involved. You people need to stop acting like anybody is saying he can't just not respond lol. That ain't the problem at all. the Problem with his apology is, that he spent the last 3 years inviting everyone to come at him and that he's the greatest etc just for him to act humble now he's being tested. If you're really mature and you don't want the smoke than do you. but just stop talking about smoking everybody's favourite rapper and being muhammed ali etc and just stick to you relatable shit. Ain't nobody taking you puffing your chest out serious after this so just stick to what you're really about its that easy🤷♂

@@simsom4L If they're such good friends, why does Kendrick keep mentioning J Cole in his diss songs?? I'll wait...🤔
He could have called Kendrick
From the get go.
I highly doubt Kendrick is responding to anything
That's what I said you have his phone number don't go public with it.
He did what he needed to do
"What is competition? I'm tryna raise the bar high
Who tryna jump and get it" KDOT
Bro apologized faster than I could hear the song
Nah, I still think J.Cole thought his diss was mid & he reverted to my spirit for not being able to go at Ken 😊
Facts… everybody was calling his diss mid or soft… “No Diddy”….. I don’t think J Cole knows how to handle a battle… he can rap tho…
Imagine during OVO fest during the height of the Drake vs Meek battle… Drake went on stage and apologized for Back 2 Back…. nah he went on there and played all the memes behind him while he performed the song! That’s HIP HOP.
It takes alot of courage to say f*** everybody on the internet and just be yourself

People love to say “keep it real” but get mad when it gets real 🤦🏽♀️ I’m proud of J Cole because he decided to keep it real with himself . At the end of the day he can only depend on himself and GOD. Most instigators are straight cowards. Always watching a fight but never in the fight. 🙄
