yeah, I've disabled all tags and focussed more on title and description, one of my new video has just started dominating the Retro Synthwave search, if my competition don't launch a live I'm at the top of search, Thanks Brian! and I've dominated that search for over a week now and views are picking up!
Hello, I just watched Kevin Kolbe's video with yourself this morning. Good stuff, your story is very inspiring, you overcame a lot of bumps in the road. Glad you are in a better place now. I came over to your channel, just found this video now. You have a way with words, your message comes across loud and clear. Even better, you are a relatable, down to earth guy. I just started my channel a little over a month ago, trying to learn as much as I can. Thank you for explaining the importance of impressions, good video titles, and thumbnails. You gained another subscriber. Looking forward to checking out your other videos, to see what tools I can use along my journey. Thank You. Take care.
Hi Brian! Watched to the end again. I have to say this was really helpful. I've been struggling with how to compete and several experts suggested using YT search to see what people would see pop up first. But NO ONE has suggested adding a word or two to help narrow that field down. I'm going to start working on that right away! Thanks again!
I am a firm believer in key word phrases. I try to think about what an average person would type in the search field and that is what I use for my keyword phrase. Another great video my friend.
I get quite excited when my views come from youtube search because it means someone searched and like the look of my thumbnail and clicked on it. Great video. Thanks Brian.
I must say out of everyone who explains seo and how to get ranked and rank in search. You are the only one who actually told us how to do it. The rest want to charge or beat around the bush. Thank you. This video was so eye opening for me. I have been reworking my titles. "CLOSING CREW" Thanks you.
I always watch till the end. I think most tips don't apply to me but then I hear you say something that I can work with. Not going to miss the opportunity to learn ( I busted up my knee while filming. I have a video stuck that I can't post because I need to add a bit more to it. Painful fun...to be cont )
My friend, I’m so glad you mentioned this because the fact of the matter is, I’m gonna be making another video literally saying if you don’t leverage these methods, you will struggle.
Easy with your covert calls for sub for sub. If you’re not doing that, then I apologize, but I’m pretty sure and I think we both both know what’s happening here. Because typically I’ll just go ahead and delete and block channels that do that. Cheers my friend. Good luck you can’t cheat. Sub for sub is just that.
I noticed the thumbnail image on this video was different on my TV from the phone , that's😢 the first time I've ever seen that , cheers again Brian for the information
Really good information to this newer TH-camr. I just changed my focus on my channel, hoping it’s more true to my passions as well as will get more subs. 😊
Yes, absolutely. But understand the baseline metrics need to be there as well. All the things I share. All our dependent on good CTR and good average Federation as well as other metrics. What’s beautiful about this method is that it reduces the competition.
What is this "easy mode" factor on YT? I don’t get it. A number of YT commentators say ít now… But the best time to start YT is now (since five years ago is no longer available). YT is not “easy” . There is also much more competition now than ever. YT has said multiple times ít is favoring small channels more now. I’ve heard it before. I find this hype term inappropriate and irritating.
It’s easier because often you can publish a video with not as much attention to detail and things such as editing, or fancy thumbnails and still do well. For example, many videos I’ve published have literally hardly any editing and they’ve done well. That makes it “easy” …
I kinda see it this way too. Despite the new “easy, low effort” videos, you’re still competing with soo many other new creators. So, although you don’t have to work harder to create perfect looking video, you still have to work hard to ride the new wave properly.
@ I’m starting to see some pushback developing online regarding this. Several YT commentators are using the ‘easy mode’ term. The more I think of it, the more I think it is hype
Awesome, my friend. These two methods I outlined in this video are Uber. Powerful and are helping me get back on my feet again. It’ll work for anybody especially you, my friend. You can make it happen.
There's defin something magical about 10% ctr. Sometimes it takes youtube a while to find the right audience but man once it hits those videos really take off. I've had 0.9% ctr in the 1st 6 months baloon to 10% and then just explode!
Isn’t that crazy my friend. Just goes to show you that a video never really dead. Sometimes a video will take months to takeoff, but then kaboom out of nowhere. The views come.
I had a video that I released 2 months ago beginning of October 1st week. I got a 177 views, then it flatlined for about 2 weeks. All of a sudden bam, now it's at almost 2000 views, very happy for my channel, only a 119 subscribers, but It's better than nothing for sure🎉 yep, I'm realizing I'm getting more impressions and I'm not pushing out my content to subscribers, because I noticed that subscribers don't really watch your videos they subscribe and then they leave the subscription sitting there.I'm just pushing my videos out without my Subscribers being notified and my videos have been doing better.
Stick with it, my friend this happens all the time! Focusing on a season on TH-cam, rather than an individual video is powerful. Because when we look back at a season, we can see the growth that happened. As long as we’re uploading regularly.
I'm in a small niche (Vintage lifestyle) and I know that, but I don't understand why TH-cam isn't showing my videos to people that watch the big channels in my niche. Lately I'm getting around only 1k impressions... 😓 It's very demoralising as I put in so much work!
Because your metrics that I mentioned are not good enough, my friend. It hurts to hear that, but it’s true. When you improve your watch time overall and CTR you’ll be more likely to get views. The good news is if you really follow the method in this video you’ll have an easier time competing with other channels.
So Brian, how do you propose leveraging these popular topics for a niche like “living more adventurously after 40” without the risk of getting trapped by the algorithm to produce the same types of videos even when that’s not your really passion for doing TH-cam. I hope you understand my question
I’m sure there’s plenty of search terms that you can apply that are out there. Same with finding other channels that are covering popular topics and you can do the same. One thing to know is sometimes people think they’re in a niche and they’re not they just kind of make something up That suits them. Remember, it’s gotta be about the other view out there. Voice dictated hope this helps.
Isn’t Dough Dash essentially capitalizing on the so called “easy mode” ??? I will often spend time on title and thumbnail and get average views and comments… if I skip those steps- it gets a ton of views and subs. 😂 TH-cam is a dopamine machine, just like most social media. We all need to remember that. It will play you like a thirsty man who has a wife at home. 😂 Don’t fall for it, just keep improving, keep going. Brian, I love ya, I’m a huge fan, but what about these left handed mugs? I was duped. My mugs will say, “Duped by Brian’s left handed mugs” 🎉😊 ❤
She’s been uploading pretty consistently for a while. 3 to 4 years. She switched from short form to long form and it worked for her. She’s over 40 so. And yes, her content would fall under “easy mode“. Which isn’t necessarily “easy it’s just more about she doesn’t really edit her videos or make thumbnails.
Small steps add up my friend. Here’s a tip for you. Do not measure your progress in video results and views. Instead, focus on seasons where you upload. Summer winter, etc. When you look back on a season, you’ll be amazed at how far you can go. Versus measuring the views of your first one or two videos. That can be depressing for sure. Good luck to you.

Great information Brian. Your video popped up on my recommendation page! So glad it did. I will watch this one a few tines and take notes😉
awesome my friend, glad you found it helpful.
Glad to see you back and consistent with uploads! You help me grow my channel when I first started on TH-cam!
Glad to hear it!
As a small channel trying to grow, these tips are helpful. Routing for the other small creators out there!

Really good information to this newer TH-camr. I just changed my focus on my channel, hoping it’s more true to my passions as well as will get more subs. 😊

Thanks Brian. Just wondering if it’s worth changing the title of existing videos?
Yes, absolutely. But understand the baseline metrics need to be there as well. All the things I share. All our dependent on good CTR and good average Federation as well as other metrics. What’s beautiful about this method is that it reduces the competition.

Dude, that’s so awesome to hear! Did you use the method where you find smaller channels that are all covering the similar topic? Or the SEO method?
@BriangjohnsonTv yes and yes
@BriangjohnsonTv the small channel with a 250,000 views and I jumped in on the topic and had the same title

50 views a day would be amazing
I think so too, my friend. That’s the power of search. Targeting both brows and search has been really helpful for me the last few months.
TH-cam is technical
Very much, so however, we can reduce much of the technical aspects if we take the time to understand what’s most important.
