@@DayByDayVlogs I think you should get a 15 to 16 hand horse because if they are shorter or dosent have a lower belly your feet might be below there belly.
If you’ve only worn the boots 6 times they might not be fully broke in yet and you might not be used to it since you haven’t ridden in them in a while!!
@@angelr856 It actually does matter! It's easier for the horse to carry a heavy rider who sits still and carries their own weight than a heavy rider who is bouncing all over the place. Of course too much weight is too much weight and even being a good rider won't take it away, but it will make it easier and less harmful for the horse.

Of course it will cause problems and be uncomfortable for the horse to put on too much weight on his/her back, but by being a good rider you can make it easier for the horse. When you sit still, carry your own weight and sit on the center of the saddle it will be easier and more comfortable for the horse no matter the riders size. It's allways uncomfortable for the horse to have a bouncing rider who sits skew on the other side of the saddle. I have actually a proof of this. I let my sister who is a beginner trot my horse for several meters while i was leading. My horse absolutely lost it, he pinned his ears and tried to bite me. He is a strongwilled horse so i really wasn't suprised of him showing how he absolutely hated having an bouncing rider. Before this i had never let any beginner trot with him. This is still a phase every rider will go throught and happily we have horses who will put up with us. However if you are heavy and on the limit of the weight the horse can carry you may cause even more problems by being an unexperienced rider.
That saddle is an Australian Range Saddle. You can ride all day in it, and not be too sore at the end of the day. They are very comfortable. I loved the one I had. And I always was able to put the English saddle on to compete with. But for a relaxing hack, I always used the the Australian. My goodness, Larocca has great cannon bones. Short and strong. A short back. Very nice pastern angles. Nice slope to her shoulder, that is was you need you to look out for Laura. And at least 1000 pounds, big through the chest, not narrow. If you're serious about a Paso Fino, ask her to keep an eye out for one for you. She knows your size and what size Paso would be best for you. Just a suggestion. The boots stretch from the heat of your foot and wearing them often. If you leave them sitting for a while they could shrink back to original size when they were bought. I would recommend conditioning your boots and leaving them on your feet to get them back to normal. I hope this helps! Love you and your family 💞

Saddle was definitely a tucker saddle. They are so comfortable! And I have a paso fino and she is so amazing! Out of all my horses she has the best attitude and temperament!

So wonderful that these fancy footed Fino have shown you that they are the horse for you. One reason people love GAITED horses is of course their smoothness. They have a high head set which I think gives the new riders more control and confidence. Normal horse carry heads lower which gives the horse more opportunities to buck, spook or act up. Get those GAITED horses going and their brain is connect to that quick little gait that says left cover some ground. Yup they are the horse for you😁 Susan

The leather just might be stiff on the boots. Even if you are not wearing them make sure they are stuffed and if you can condition them for a bit. My boots get stiff between rides in the winter!

So excited for you to get your new horse, but keep in mind that each horse can only carry a max of 20% at the most and that includes tack. Just keep that in mind as you don't want to damage your horses back.

Laura, I have rode in a saddle that you rode on Larocca too. It was amazing, and I really liked it! I rode on a Clydesdale and we used that saddle. It made the ride so much more enjoyable.
YES my boy also LOVES treats. He always looks for them, tilts his head, or puts his head through my arm 😂that's what he's doing in my pfp, LOVE my paso.

Honestly, Laura I think you’ve found the perfect breed for you! They bring out so much confidence in you. As long as it’s the right weight and has good joints honestly I think a Paso Fino would be perfect.

The first time I really galloped my horse was in a huge open field. It was like the smoothest thing I have ever felt on a horse. I could hardly feel the ground under us it was amazing.
Glad you enjoyed your ride Laura and definitely good to experience a few different Paso Finos, rather than base your view just on one you’ve ridden 👍 The owner made a lot of sense in terms of her comments regarding rider weight, horse etc, although interestingly a lot of riding schools/ trekking centres in tne UK have a maximum weight of 13 stone ( 182Ibs) and some less than that. The confirmation is extremely important as Camilla was saying, so something to be very aware of when you go to look at any prospective horse and I suppose it’s always in our horses interest to try and loose weight if need be for their benefit, as ultimately it’s always going to be better for them. The horses fitness and age is important too, fitter horses and those in their prime are in general terms going to be able to cope more, than let’s say an unfit, overweight, old horse. So much to consider when buying any horse, but as I’ve said before, I think you are much more well informed and considered now, so I hope the mare you are going to view works out 😊
The mare was at camillas way back when she was young so she knows her and her size and everything about her. She thinks we will be a great fit snd that she will make a great little horse for me! It helps to have her as such a good reference.

Watching the paso finos trot is like watching an old western movie when they speed up the reel, I think they are absolutely lovely.

The owner at this farm gives a very good explanation of the pasofino and how its more then a general rule and what to look for.

Laura, I have rode in a saddle that you rode on Larocca too. It was amazing, and I really liked it! I rode on a Clydesdale and we used that saddle. It made the ride so much more enjoyable.
YES my boy also LOVES treats. He always looks for them, tilts his head, or puts his head through my arm 😂that's what he's doing in my pfp, LOVE my paso.

I love galloping and the adrenaline rush that comes with it! I love the wind in my hair and rush! Lol my favorite is doing it bareback!! My guy is so smooth and he’s a like C4 packed rocket! 😂 Glad you guys had such a fun time! Looked like a blast! Wish it was closer
For your horse I would go by the 20% rule Where you and the tack together are 20% of the horses weight
It looks like a Tucker endurance saddle. Amazing saddles. I just sold mine because it didn't fit my horse. Broke my heart as ivecwanted one for years.

Honestly, Laura I think you’ve found the perfect breed for you! They bring out so much confidence in you. As long as it’s the right weight and has good joints honestly I think a Paso Fino would be perfect.

The first time I really galloped my horse was in a huge open field. It was like the smoothest thing I have ever felt on a horse. I could hardly feel the ground under us it was amazing.

Glad you enjoyed your ride Laura and definitely good to experience a few different Paso Finos, rather than base your view just on one you’ve ridden 👍 The owner made a lot of sense in terms of her comments regarding rider weight, horse etc, although interestingly a lot of riding schools/ trekking centres in tne UK have a maximum weight of 13 stone ( 182Ibs) and some less than that. The confirmation is extremely important as Camilla was saying, so something to be very aware of when you go to look at any prospective horse and I suppose it’s always in our horses interest to try and loose weight if need be for their benefit, as ultimately it’s always going to be better for them. The horses fitness and age is important too, fitter horses and those in their prime are in general terms going to be able to cope more, than let’s say an unfit, overweight, old horse. So much to consider when buying any horse, but as I’ve said before, I think you are much more well informed and considered now, so I hope the mare you are going to view works out 😊

The mare was at camillas way back when she was young so she knows her and her size and everything about her. She thinks we will be a great fit snd that she will make a great little horse for me! It helps to have her as such a good reference.
