- This week Martin and Roman are delving into Technology! We've already briefly visited the aliens in a previous episode, but Roman is back at it again when it comes to where technology suddenly spiked in the 1950s.
Roman is determined to find out what money-making invention his Dad MIGHT have up his sleeve and how changes in technology impacted him throughout his life.

Tomorrow's world was a great program woof woof
I bet Martin remembers when plug sockets at home used to smell of fish if they overheated.
What? Really?? 😂

@@seanjamescameron well I'm glad we've advanced past that! 🤣😂
I’m 56. The ‘wheeley TV’ bottom shelf at my primary school had the instruction booklet on it. My parents couldn’t afford to have a colour television, so when I got my first job as a qualified barber I made sure that I got a colour TV and a VHS video recorder. My brother got a telephone installed and paid the telephone bill for them. Mum won a stereo and a microwave (I remember watching a baked potato go around through the little window with awe), but the one thing they never did get was a car. They never really went anywhere and were big on walking. We loved tomorrow’s world. Thursday was a good evening. Tomorrow’s world and Top of the Pops. A Fray Bentos minced beef and onion pie, mash and beans and those two great shows. I was as happy as a pig in sh*t.
I am 52' Yesi remember wheeley TVs at my first school from age 4 !
I know what Martin means about when colour tv came along. It was next level. When I was a kid I always wanted a colour tv watch. To have a transportable tv, seems we have that now.
watching snooker in b/w was way more interesting as you had to guess the ball colour and getting it right was fab...soon as it was colour I was like oh well but as soon as I saw cartoons in colour I was like holy smoke its like magic
We only gad a b/w TV and at Christmas used the tray out of boxes chocolate to look at the screen turn ut to coliyr
We had a transportable tv. My mum put the black and white big back portable on the top of her shopping trolley and she’d wheel it to the pub she worked in and leave me and my late brother in one of the empty rented rooms to watch it while she did her shift. Totally transportable but we’ve come a long way since then.
Sorry Ro..I'm with your Dad. I understand my dogs different barks!!!
Yes !! Oh a dog (or cat) translator would open so many minds to their pets! Love it 😊
Imagine knowing what your pet really thinks about you 😂
@@betagombar9022 exactly!! All those side eyes and head turns 😂
Tomorrow’s world was a great programme. I remember when they showed us the indestructible Compact Disc for the first time
Please ask your dad all about his childhood, his earliest memories, best and worst things that happened to him, meals, holidays, exams, Christmas and birthdays and his teenage years. I wish I’d spoken more to my parents about those years. It really gives you an idea of why your parents are like they are today.
Martin is only six years older than me. The Pepsi can pencil case existed then. We had novelty pencil cases, however I tended to go for a large coloured furry one full of novelty erasers and pop a point pencils. Novelty erasers, sharpeners and different sorts of fun pencils were sold out the front of a shop on their forecourt up the road from me. They had them in a small wooden market style square basket display, lots of square baskets joined together on legs and each one had been filled with a different stationery item. I remember that shop to this day. Another shop was a couple of streets down. It was a grocery/sweets/tobacconist. As a teenager I used to get a pack of ten JPS cigarettes and an absolutely huge gobstopper with a fizzy coating on the outside I could just about fit it in my cheek. If you were caught with sweets at school you had to share. I wasn’t sharing so I got that and stuffed it in my cheek. If I was asked to share I’d just pull it out and offer it to the person to the side of me and watch them recoil.
So funny you both have a wonderful sense of humour 😂🤣 but I agree it would save a lot of dogs from being destroyed or abused if we could understand them👍😱
You two are so funny honestly. Im pissin myself laughing at Martin talking about that hair cutter . Me and my twin sister had “ the bowl “ cuts ,then that thing arrived. We were terrified of it…….. the blades…just one slip and oops 😮😅
Talk about memory lane 😊 we had the first colour tv on the street and the neighbours would come around 1 night a week and squash in to be amazed !! It was like opening Pandora’s box once a week for them and for us we would just stare at it amazed and couldn’t believe what we were seeing it really did feel like the rest of the world was black & white 😂😂
Brilliant podcast as always chaps, has got my weekend off to a fun start 😂
Such a lovely podcast...at 33.44 they really look like each other in their enjoyment
I absolutely love this podcast & being able to watch you is just next level 😂it’s so entertaining & I love when Roman goes “oh Christ!” when he dad says something 😵💫!
I just love this podcast it so cheers me up 😂👍❤️
I had a irn-bru can pencil case when i first started secondary school back in 1996
I can totally understand what you mean about the colour tv. My younger sister once said to me and my bro. So when did colour come in the world. We had to explain it was only the tv that was black and white 😂
Better camera transitions than the last one and the split screen is good. The issue is when there are rapid exchanges and it flits between them with every word or two. It needs a split screen at those points.
I'm the same age as Martin and I used to work in the office of a proper old fashioned print works, I remember the Comp Room very well
Dog Translated would be THE BEST
You guys crack me up and I love the relationship you have xx
Everyone googling LED Slippers 😂

Omg I would so buy one of those dog collars and would love it if they did It for other animals too. Have always wanted to know what my pets are thinking xx
Oh and nice jeans Martin ,Tu
At 51 went to my 1st festival and last ,the toilets were wheelie bins with sawdust, i literally didn't have a poop for 3 days and as a woman i just peed in a cup in my tent lol 😅😅😅

Im only half way in this clip but im laughing cos these convo's are so ADHD. If I hadnt already known u another ADHD'r I think Id guess ha ha. Tomorrow's World - theres a blast from the past, Martin.
Don't buy into the pill thing to survive
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think the Americans have used captured fallen UFOs in Area 51 to get the technology for their modern stealth planes.
Of course there is a flying car. It was featured on The Grand Tour th-cam.com/video/5hbFl3nhAD0/w-d-xo.html
I don't dislike Roman but I think he feels so threatened by his Dad's fame and good looks that he tries to belittle him which is sad
To be honest, I think Roman is a lot smarter than his dad. Martin often behaves like he‘s still a teenager instead of a 62 year old guy.
I don't think so, it's a normal parent /child relationship... kids always think they know more than their parents
@@eratog4604 Martin is just a big kid. Very immature.
Our soul purpose in life is that we must know our God Almighty and Jesus, who He sent so that we have eternal life when we die.
Jesus is the only way to heaven without being known as a true son or daughter we are lost and will be cast out into outer darkness, for all of Eternity.
There is one way through one door that we must enter where Jesus stands waiting, for those who know Him as their Lord, Saviour, Judge, and Redeemer will be granted entery into His Kingdom forever.
Every religion has a god who loves them. If His name isn't Jesus, then it is a false religion, Jesus said My sheep hear My Voice and a stranger they will not follow. Satan has come to deceive this world through many religions, Jesus came for those who believe, follow, and obey Him, they will be with Him forever, and ever.
Omg who asked for this rant😮
