He just has the same influences. He played the Montreux Jazz Festival with BB King in 1999, so I doubt the White Stripes were much influence on him seeing as their first album came out that year. They just come from the same musical background. Blues doesn't get any attention these days, so you may not realize just how derivative the White Stripes are as well. Thats the whole thing with Blues...the music is rarely original, therefore the PERFORMER is the key. It evens the playing field, so the truly passionate ones shine. Thats Jordan!
