Beautiful camcorder ,still have one of these and the sd900 as well,Still stands up well in 2021 ,do have more modern 4k panasonic and sony but find the 3mos sensor very pleasing to the eye with well balanced colors.Have managed to get the lens hood on the Panasonic HC-VXF990 4K Camcorder to fit the HC-X920.PART NUMBER Panasonic SYK0602 Hood.
Are your hands "average size"? What I'd like to know, not being able to get my hands on one locally, is whether or not this will go into a coat pocket without too much difficulty. I want to take (something like) this on a skiing holiday and I don't want a Go-Pro. Do you think it's doable? Ta - and is it a good camera?
I'm not sure if this camcorder will connect to my ancient PC. At the moment I use a Panasonic mini DV NV-GS280 which connects via a firewire- kind of square and clunky. Is this the same thing?!
Dave, I make technology videos, like yourself. And I'm looking to buy a new camera, do you think I should buy a DSLR or a camcorder costing around the same? Cheers
Hey. Is this camera NTSC/PAL switchable? I ask this because on previous panasonic (and other brands) models you were stuck at 50p if you bought the PAL version. 50P/25P is in many cases a VERY unfortunate thing in this digital day and age where so much of the footage is to be uploaded on the web etc. Pretty much all pc screens run at around 60 Hz refreshrate which makes pal footage look jittery - not smooth like with 60p/30P footage. I am aware that you may still need to use pal when shooting under certain artificial light sources, because of the the 50 Hz mains frequency and all that. However, I do most of my filming outdoors and prefer 60p over 50p in all situations. Thanks.
No it's not better. Get the Sony hx50v you will love it. Less money and same quality and smaller. I have Panasonic tm900 and Sony hx30v and I love them both. HX30v video quality is very good I wish I bought Sony first and didn't spend all that money on TM900. TM900 can micro zoom on things and HX30v cant.
I love my current HDC HS 900 and am looking forward to getting this camera myself !
You can test recoder that
Nice Dave, look forward to seeing it perform.
That's a really sweet looking camcorder Dave. Can't wait to see some footage from it :)
thanks... do you know if one can buy a regular infrared remote contro to operate with it?
Yes if you prefer a built in projector and if u want to use it to watch your movies videos etc from tablet laptop smartphone
Awesome review Dave!
ustream feature is nice
Hi I think you were unaware that under the packaging there is a lens hood and cable which you left off in the unboxing!
How do you do remote control?
Sorry I no longer have this to check.
Hi
Did you forget about the EVF on the back?
Can't wait for the video test on this. I'm looking at a camcorder upgrade and this is the one I'm looking at.
Hey Dave. I was wondering if you are planning on doing a review of the Fujifilm X100s?
Looking forward to seeing the review!

Can you turn the wifi off, or is it always turned on?

Which do you prefer the hc-x920 or the Canon or the hf-g25?
could you please do a review after having used this camera?
Is the panasonic x920 and the panasonic x929 the same camcorder ?
Do you know if the Sony HDR pj790v is better or not ?
Does it come with the microphone, or do you have to buy one seperately?
