    I love this pipe. There's a few installation flaws but hey when your working on a mountain you kinda just wing. I did 2.2 miles of this pipe for sunday river ski resort in maine for their snowmaking system.

    "Work hard, work safe, work smart" I think that will be our new company slogan.
    I will bring this up at next Wednesdays safety meeting.

      You'll have to get that approved by JR I'm afraid. Thanks for watching.

    When using The TR flex fitting, is it necessary to wedge the pipe for tracing, or does the lock ring act as a wedge to transfer current?

      We do not recommend the use of bronze wedges for connecting the Ductile Iron joints for tracer/locating purposes. Tracing wires, etc should be used for non-metallic piping such as pvc. If the intent is to bond the joints for Electrical thawing, we recommend application of our Cable Bond connection. For additional purposes such as a form of Cathodic protection, we recommend properly bonding the joints via Thermite welding. Below are links to two excellent blogs that may be some help.

    Is this rebranded US pipe?

    • @McWaneDuctilePipe
      @McWaneDuctilePipe  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, thanks for your question. US Pipe invented the TR Flex joint, and all other manufacturers have paid for the right to produce their own versions. All McWane Ductile pipe is produced at one of our three foundries in Ohio, New Jersey, or Utah.

    Maximum deflection achieved tr flex?

    • @McWaneDuctilePipe
      @McWaneDuctilePipe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the diameter of the pipe, but TR Flex joints can be deflected between 1.5 and 5 degrees. Smaller diameters can be deflected more than larger ones. Here's a link to our TR Flex brochure with a chart that shows max deflection for each pipe size me make. Thanks for the question.

    Why is this better than a locking gasket?

    • @McWaneDuctilePipe
      @McWaneDuctilePipe  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your question. It’s really a matter of preference and application. TR Flex is easier to disassemble and also easier to identify as a Restrained Joint connection if it has to be excavated after installation.
      You should not use locking gaskets for HDD, bridge crossings or pipe on support applications.
      And depending on diameter, it can also be the less expensive option, too.
