You actually earned 6 XP for the peaceful outcome for the two older gentlemen, and you could've easily failed it by trying to get higher offers from them, but you handled it beautifully. I like Mr. Ox, despite his slightly sinister aura. I like his particular variant of heterochromia, and if you save first before attacking him, you'll notice he isn't what he appears.
A Nephandus is alway possible. Could also be a Kue Jin or something much more exotic. A malkavian playthrough implies he is indeed something quite disturbing (what exactly is unknown but your character can just say things like "I think I know what you are, I'm getting away now" and "Is that hell I smell" ) .... Also if you attack him he disapear in a flash of light and an evil laugh... Worth nothing that it's a common remark in the communauty that his name , Mr Ox, sounds very close to Niu Tou (Ox head) , one of the two guardian of the underworld in some chinese myths...
Making peace is the more humane, and also I believe the more advantageous option. Let old blood be old... and the 6 XP is a much better bonus than any amount of money since you can't buy skill books easily. Mr. Ox is one sinister fellow. And it seems to me he's more... spiritually attuned than a normal man. I wonder if he also dabbles in magic, or alchemy.
Mr. Ox has a special curse planned for his old enemy, and he at least believes that it will work. Or maybe it will only work in that it will be an example to other superstitious thieves!
I have came up to a game. This game is called. Listen to your heart. All you have to do to play this game is to understand the rules. First, you've got to understand in your heart what is good or evil. Then, you have to listen to your heart and give an answer. If you somehow make a mistakes. You are still not wrong, but you can ask the question again. Did I listen to my heart. This game is free and it will work with anything and any question you may have. There is no limitation beyond that. Have you ever wondered where god reside? Well, you can start by asking yourself this question. And wathever you chose to do the answer is in this game. Enjoy.
Helen is using *her* noodle, even though it's technically dead.
I love the quests in Chinatown yes very fun
It has a very movie vibe to it. Maybe a little David Lynch, and a little Quentin Tarentino, and a little Coen Brothers.
you have to wait for him to get into the bar. Yeah, he won't talk to you unless he goes to sit down.
I'm so glad you rethought taking this quest.
For that juicy 6XP, I sure am too.

Not the noodle shop I'd want to eat at! Kind of like Satriale's Port Store in The Sopranos.
And this, kids, is why tontines are illegal. Someone aaaaalways gets greedy and starts speeding up the whole "last man standing gets the goods" bit.
"Helen, how did you get so strong?"
"I mediated an argument between retired hitmen and stole some eyes from a noodle shop."
Isn't that how all heroes gain their power?
@@Kikoskia Only suckers lift weights.
Lu Fang sure likes to pee.
Thinking about it, wondered if maybe there was a mage or hedge mage in Bloodlines, and I have a suspicious feeling Helen just met one.
I think he's something much worse. If you're a Malkavian, you get a hint that he's connected with the Yama Kings.
Nice progress
I suspect Mr. Ox is some sort of mage. But I'm not sure if he's Euthanatos.... or Nephandus.

@@s.m.2523 oh, so literal demon is an option then.

@davidg4288 Interesting words. I'm eager for Thursday now to see how it'll play out.
Loving this play through!
Go back and forth between the chinese dudes to get better share of the money.
It is not money I seek, but experience.
Now say it three times fast!
