This is a cram review of Unit 1: Kinematics for AP Physics 1 2023.
I covered the following concepts and AP-style MCQ questions.
    - displacement, velocity, acceleration
    - displacement vs time graph, velocity vs time graph
    - slope and area of different graphs
    - free-fall
    - projectile motion
    - center of mass, and its velocity

🎯 Key points for quick navigation:
🎓 The presenter, Eugene, introduces himself as an academic coach and professional tutor, sharing educational content on kinematics for AP Physics 1.
📘 Kinematics focuses on how objects move, emphasizing displacement, velocity, and acceleration without addressing the forces behind motion.
🔄 Displacement differs from distance by considering only the starting and final positions, whereas distance accounts for the entire path traveled.
🏃 The velocity involves direction and magnitude, differing from speed, and is calculated based on displacement over time.
⏱️ Acceleration indicates how quickly velocity changes, with an emphasis on constant acceleration in the context of AP Physics 1.
📊 The analysis of motion graphs, such as velocity versus time and displacement versus time, helps understand acceleration and displacement.
🌐 Projectile motion as part of two-dimensional motion is covered, highlighting the role of gravitational acceleration and changes in velocity components.
📏 The use of kinematic equations in free-fall scenarios and other AP-style questions is explained to calculate various motion parameters.
🧮 Vertical Components: The time taken for two experiments to reach the ground is the same due to identical vertical velocity, displacement, and acceleration.
📉 Graph Analysis: A tangent line on a position vs. time graph determines the speed of a ball at ground contact, calculated to be approximately 5 meters per second.
⚖️ Center of Mass: Explains the concept of the center of mass and its calculation with multiple objects, useful for AP Physics.
🪂 Acceleration Components: Horizontal acceleration is zero, and vertical acceleration is constant (gravity), showing combined acceleration equals gravitational acceleration.
🖊️ Recording Motion: Using photogates and motion detectors accurately measures a moving object's velocity and acceleration, which must align with the object's direction.
ℹ️ Graph Interpretation: Selection of proper graph types (velocity vs. time) helps in analyzing acceleration scenarios, important for understanding constant positive acceleration.
🏹 Projectile Motion: Discusses the conditions and graph interpretation for launching an object at an angle, focusing on its vertical and horizontal components.
🎯 Dart and Target: Explains the interaction between a moving dart and a falling target, highlighting the relationship between their velocities and resulting positions.
🟰 The displacement of an object in a velocity-time graph is found by calculating the area under the curve.
📏 Questions about object displacement often involve interpreting graphs and calculating areas geometrically.
🌍 Constant acceleration in free fall is due to gravitational force, making C and D correct in certain scenarios.
🛤️ Objects on inclined paths generally experience constant acceleration, as demonstrated in example D.
🌌 The maximum height in projectile motion is influenced by initial velocity and gravitational force.
📊 In velocity-time graphs, the displacement can be zero if the areas of positive and negative regions cancel each other out.
🌀 An object spinning and moving simultaneously has non-zero displacement due to its translational motion.
📉 A decreasing velocity in a system suggests a constant acceleration, as seen in center of mass analyses.

    • @academic-coach-youhyun

The figure with green shade is a trapezoid. The upper base is 2 (vertical distance on the right side), the lower base is 3 (vertical distance on the left) and the height is 0.5 (width on the horizontal x-axis). Hope that clarifies everything :)
