Nozi Thank you for creating such a platform where we can talk about HIV/AIDS. I for one am living openly with HIV and have seen how difficult it is for parents to disclose to their children that's why most of them end up not looking forward to life and don't like their parents. Nozi are our mother and sister and we appreciate you. You are a powerhouse, we deserve some type of talkshow where parents can watch on TV because they are missing out. We are getting empowered here on TH-cam. Saidy I love you sis. I can see some elements of your story in my life. God bless both of you. Love from Botswana!

❤️❤️❤️❤️Thank you so much. I so relate to this, in 2018 we tried to tell my nephew why he was taking pills and all about HIV. Following year my sister came back to me and was stressed because my nephew told the doctor he doesn't know what the pills are for. Now I get it that we must engage him according to his age. Thank you again❤️

I remember when my aunt the only mom I know ever since my mom died told me about her HIV status, the first words she said to me were oh my baby so perfect as you are I wish I could hide you away from this imperfect world where men betry thire claimed loved ones.
And then she told me with a cracking voice (I am HIV positive) were her words we both became silent and hugged I said I love you I didn't wanna scare her away as I have heard people doing that to others and so I asked do we have electricity and she said no it's almost finished and even though she usually sends the kids to go buy it this time I offered.
Becouse I didn't how to react to the betrayal this man has committed to my mom and so I walked a distance I could have taken a taxi for and we never again spoke of it even when I came back from the shop becouse I didn't want to scare her away.

Taking this conversation to different levels as a child grows is such a challenge but unavoidable, especially if parents are no longer alive. At a very young age they get used to taking the pill, they remind you,but when they hit teenage years🥺It takes a different dynamic. But they shall grow up,we’re here to hold their hands. May God bless you and grant us all strength, courage and understanding hold them through life when they reach their lowest and fatigued moments.

I really love such quality content that I'm sure will make a difference, other than all I have learnt in this video and on this channel is that not all "superheroes" come in capes or how they are painted in society to be some animated beings(as well as angels) who are sometimes seen waay different from everyone else or on a pedestal instead of the open- mindedness of such glorified figures realistically living amongst us💫😍 also thank you so much sis Nozi for allowing the Lord to minister through and in you plus being the epitome of a "spiritual doctor" which is just as important as the qualified physical doctors that are upheld so greatly... Truckloads of love for both of you, keep inspiring and being the needed blessing in our lives💯🙏🏽indeed you are fulfilling your purpose and the ripple impact your efforts of awareness+education and empowerment probably surpasses your imagination, you are appreciated😁💋💌the only thing I disliked about this video is that it ended😂

I hit pause after she said that they tested them as kids at school. That's how she found out? They tested kids? Without their parents there or at the very least the consent of the parents. I'm so mad! Lemme go eat my oats first and calm down.

I once had a teenage patient who was born with HIV, the parents both died without telling the kids their status and tjis child's status. So, she was taking treatment because she mom had told her it's to prevent a rash (eczema that she had outgrown). I had to disclose to her and her older sister. Those are one of the worst days at the clinic when that happens.
Parents must disclose at around 8years upwards, kids are very smart nowadays. Uou can disclose with the help of a social worker, nurse, doctor or psychologist.

Please do not blame your aunt for anything. 1. Don’t forget she was also traumatised by loosing her sister and having to accommodate her nieces and nephew. You were both traumatised in a different way.
    2. A lot of people would have opted to put the kids up for adoption. She is a strong and very giving person. Please understand she was also having a hard time. Just appreciate her.

I think the shock from the nurse or tester came from the fact that you are 14. Maybe she did not think a 14 year old could be positive.

Is there any counseling whatsoever when one is testing for hiv guys? Coz I went through my first test last year I think and there was no counseling whatsoever not even that question Saidy mentioned of what would you do if you test positive or negative. Only question I was asked was if I am sexually active that was when I was going for my pap smear test then, at the time I was not, so the answer was no, that was it. I remember feeling so scared even though I was not sexually active at the time coz I knew you can get hiv through other ways, I was very scared, that was the longest minute of my life waiting for the test results. I think they really need to do better with hiv counseling it's just like with covid now, they need to take counseling very serious for these virus as they can be very consuming mentally. This was a great interview Nozie, thank you. We keep learning from you guys. Keep it up 🤗❤
