Those times when you and your pals in highschool just decide to form a band, go at your friend's small but free garage, just set up a drumset, carry amps and guitars, and just play out loud. God, I missed those days. Our band wasn't all perfect but it's a damn precious thing to us. Especially when we performed at the school's hall. Hope to play with my best pals again someday. We used to jam along songs like these. Awesome song.
I was in a punk band. You know how they say all you need to form a punk band is 3 chords and attitude? Well we tried to do it without chords or attitude or a name or any instruments. I guess the world just wasn't ready for a band with no songs and only one member. We broke up over creative differences and a difficult love triangle situation between Palmela, Handrea and myself.
@@pierreetienneschneider6731This sound was pretty distinct from 90’s music, it was more about rock “getting back to its roots” in the 60’s garage band sound. I guess he meant "this isn't the best single but...". Yes, Craig Nicholls talent is massively underrated, so many great songs, mind-blowing live performances as well to find. I'm proud to say I'm one of the people who looked deeper into their work to discover this.
They are definitely no copycat but there were bands with a somewhat similar sound. The Hellacopters are one band that somehow resembles what The Vines were doing on the alternative rock, post grunge, garage rock thing.

I can name one for certain. I remember noticing one of my favorite bands in the video back in the day and was like NO FKN WAY 😂 Killradio can be seen just above the Vines at :55 .. singer/guitarist in black long sleeve, bass player white tshirt . Excellent punk rock band that just recently reunited. Would love to know any of the other bands !

Omg. So, I remember this song from my childhood. Didn't know who sang it or even what it was called. Its infectious chorus, however, was all I could remember...but just the tune. Didn't even know he was singing actual words!? 😅 As frustrating as it was, I always knew that one day it would come across my path again. Somehow, it would. Well, today, it finally did. Thank you, A Perfect Pairing (2022)!
It was already in my ‘liked songs’ in spotify, but that list is so long i hadn’t heard it in a long while. A perfect pairing also helped me to find it again 😊
They actually can mute drums too for video shoots, at least dampen them. I sang for a rock band that shot a couple of music videos and the drums were just like "dink, tink, pep" no production crew wants to hear the same loud drumming over and over again to the same song when they shoot multiple scenes.
Way before Vines videos with their stupid 6 sec clips took over the world, The Vines already rocked the world. That guitar starting riff was one of the reasons why I picked on guitar back then :')

It seems music bands formed camaraderie. With electric music now people are making music alone.
