Carmine player here. I agree that the buffs were kinda unnecesarry however I disgree with the opinion that he lost his uniqeness. First off you were off with his vorpal trait. Without vorpal every dissolve move costs 300 vit whilst in vorpal it's 150. Normal throw and 5BBB regain 400 vit (I think) whilst 214BC does 1200. I only scratched the (bad) surface of what you can do with 5BBB being special cancelable but from what it looks like you can get some health back for below 3k damage combo that costs 100 exs. Generally I don't think Carmine should go for heal combos but that does not mean the buff is useless. 5BB is often canceled into 22X which is plus, thus players often shield there, this is where 5BBB command grab comes in handy since it grd breaks. This buff just makes gambles more in Carmine's favor since now he can convert that into damage more reliably (before he had to have chain shift ready to do a combo) and swap sides if he was doing corner pressure. In the Carmine is just an even bigger tormentor, HYAHAHAHA BE DEVOURED!!!
I agree ^ I think it’s still unique to have healing routes. I do not want the following change, just a thought experiment, but even if his heal routes became optimal, you’d still be at lower heath for playing neutral, meaning it will still take fewer hits to beat you. If they made his moves not cost health, then he would lose his uniqueness imo Splitting semantic hairs here tho with OP cause I agree that he doesn’t need it
While the buffs Carmine got are nice, I think they mostly amount to quality of life improvements. They aren't going to make him drastically stronger or really change his combo routes imo.
