She does know what she's doing. Like you said, she's a pro and there is actually a technique to hitting the rasp like this without damaging the vocals. I'm almost certain she knows it very well. When this was recorded, she'd been doing it for 25 years.
@@jordankeller7279 you might be right. And upon looking loser it's not as bad as I originally thought. That being said, look at the stress in her neck. Especially when singing that E note on the lyric "soar." That looks and sounds really strained to me. She's obviously a world class vocalist but even great singers can damage their voice. Look at James Labrie in 1994 to 1999. Just 5 years of straining can make you go from world class to just above average. I say this because I like Lzzy and want to see her continue singing for as long as possible :)
