BEEF KULMA RECIPE | TAUSUG SPECIALTY

  • Beef Kulma Recipe
    1kg Beef ( cut into cubes )
    2 cups water or beef stock
    6 clove garlic ( minced )
    2 large onion ( chopped )
    1 thumb sized ginger ( chopped )
    2 pcs Bay Leaf
    2 tbsp curry powder
    3 tbsp tomato paste
    1 can Coconut Milk or 2 cups coconut milk
    2 or 3 tbsp peanut butter ( any brand )
    1/2 cup all purpose cream
    1 bunch lemongrass ( pounded ) - you can add this also if you want
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Oil
    For veggies ( this is optional )
    Potatoes and Carrots
    Green and red bell peppers
    If you want to make it a lil bit spicy just add 2 pcs chillies ( chopped )
    For extra spices naman you can also add if available sa kitchen niyo.
    1 tsp paprika powder
    1 tsp cinnamon powder
    Procedure ( note : This is only my version, you can do yours naman, gawin niyo na lang guide to )
    1. After ko hugasan yung beef binabad ko sa suka at asin for almost 20 mins. This well help reduce bacteria sa raw meat and para lumambot din yung baka.
    2. Ibuhos ang pinagbabaran ( suka na may asin ) at hugasan ulit ng malinis na tubig.
    Cooking Time!
    (Inuna ko muna i fry ang Patatas at carrots para mas madaling lumambot, optional lang naman to. Mas matagal kasi pag sa last muna i halo lalo pat matigas yung veggies.)
    3. Magpainit ng pan at maglagay ng konting oil lang
    4. Sautè Onion, Garlic at Ginger, pag nag brown na yung aromatics tsaka ilagay ang beef at ilagay ang bay leaf, gisahin lang for atleast 5mins.
    5. Cover it, hanggang sa lumabas yung natural juice ng meat
    6. Add 2 cups of water and bring to boil, simmer in low heat hanggang sa mag dry yung water at lumambot ang baka
    Pag malambot na at dry na yung water
    7. Ilagay ang curry power, tomato paste, peanut, coconut milk at all purpose cream.
    Then simmer in low heat for 45 minutes
    8.add the bell pepper, season with salt and black pepper ( tanstahin mo na lang, nakadpende naman sa panlasa mo)
    9. Pag medyo malapot na, ilagay na yung Patatas at Carrots.
    10. Cover lang for atleast 10mins then ready to serve!
