I've seen a similar hack eisewhere - using a circular saw, nail gun, electric drill, several clamps, etc, etc. If I had the money to buy all that equipment, I sure as heck wouldn't be buying laminated chipboard stuff from Ikea.
It's a genius idea. BUT... the pole-wrap is super expensive!!!! It's like $67 that I can get from Homedpot... no smaller size available either. Where did you find yours?

Hi if I want golden handles on these, how do I do that? Do I glue it or can I screw it in over the glued pole wrap?
Yes just drill a hole straight through the pole wrap and drawer and just make sure you have a long enough screw to attach the handle.
