I saw the movie yesterday in my country. The movie is EXCELLENT. I went with no expectations because I didn't know what to expect from an animated film (besides Bakshi's work from 1978) and... at one point of the movie I forgot I was watching an anime. You can tell how much love and work was put into this, and the participation of the original LOTR team (Phillipa Boyens, Fran Walsh, Peter Jackson, Miranda Otto) is EVIDENT in the quality of the result. Also, great casting (Brian Cox is a perfect Helm). And the music is AMAZING, which is something that really worried me because of what an important part it has in experiencing the movies. Can't wait to see it again ❤ .
this is a fantastic film, really enjoyed it. im glad to see that work related to lord of the rings can be done well, as long as these guys are still involved. cant wait to see what is next.
Anime is another step up in telling a story in the middle earth stage and I say,it goes up another level and will see what is yet to come in Middle Earth.
One small thing that I’ve seen here and with HotD which annoys me, it’s not major but please stop using the word ‘ancestor’ where it doesn’t apply. Unless Hera marries her cousin Frealaf, Hera is not Eowyn’s ancestor. They share common ancestry through Eorl the Young and are obviously part of the same family tree, but Eowyn’s line comes from Frealaf, Helm’s nephew who starts the second line of Kings of Rohan, which ends with Theoden. See it happen with HotD too. Very minor but as someone who finds family trees so interesting, it’s annoying 😂
@mileswright7294 true, they missed alot out from the original books. Think the extended versions were closer to the books. This story is very short, but it's got a basic template to work to. All the major events should be the same as the original story with some obvious filler to extend the story. Just need wait and see. I'll wait and see how they end the story before spending any money on it.
You are delusional, and your choice to engage with content that you don’t enjoy just proves that you live a miserable live. Find something better to do buddy.
You should go read his letters and see what he actually thought of 'other minds and hands' expanding on his works. No one needs you to defend the professor because you're not reflecting his actual thoughts on such matters. Would you like to go read and then try again?
Oh shutup whennyoundidmt watch it .. I liked the take very much 🎉 Expected nothing after rings of power, but I was surprised. Very good take on more "ordinary" story with no wizards, demigods etc.
Hera was never named and there we go again, another movie changing the lore of professor Tolkien. In many movies and series we have been seeing men disappearing in the background and making women the heroes. In the trailer you hear a lot of dialogue that is proof it is all about a female story, about her being the best and the strongest and they should fear her. The worse was you can rule the world. So cringe, it disappointed me that Philippa Boyens has decided to join the band wagon of alternating the wonderful work of professor Tolkien. All the premiere interviews looked faked and forced. Here in Montreal, not one screen in IMAX, in AVX or any special screens are presenting the war of the rohirrim, only regular screens and not many theaters are having the viewing. I am not surprised. I hope the movie is good for the people who will be seeing it, I will stick to reading the many books of professor Tolkien. I can always watch the Peter Jackson movies.
I watched the anime and I’m gonna say she’s not that girl boss like other woke series. Ok I don’t buy the fight in the end that she can match the strength of a warrior like Wuf but other than that she is a woman who has vulnerability. I enjoyed it. It’s not the best but it’s better than the added story of female elf and Legolas in the Hobbit
I’m so excited to watch the film this Thursday!
It's not the world of Peter Jackson, its Tolkien, and Peter created a new story in that world.

Okay, but, Where's our Tom Bombadil series with Matt Berry?
This is actually a brilliant idea
Amazing movie
It’s very hard not be able to mention a character you like most when you claim you like the story so much. Come on Boyen, even Kenji can pick one.
***J.R.R. TOLKIEN'S THE LORD OF THR RINGS
John Ronald reuel tolkien?
Looking forward to this film.
Hopefully they stick to the story...................
They didn't for the original movies.

The early reviews I’ve read say they’ve done a decent job adapting Tolkien’s two pages
It's J.R.R. Tolkien's world. This is just Tumblr fanfic.

I dunno, seems like they really put a lot of love into it - maybe wait until you’ve seen it

@@EonaWondersNah. Everyone should love the female Elf and Legolas in the Hobbit Trilogy.
Dude, you are so wrong on expectations on the movie hahaha you can watch it, is good
I hate Hera voice actor, I think I'm gonna watch Japanese Dub version
