Ray allen is in impeccable physical condition. He looks like he can play for another 5 years at least. Pretty scary when you think about it. I don't remember him having any major injuries either. The definition of a pure shooter.
@kingdavid7049 Right what's so scary about it 😂 perfect example of what not going to the basket every drive gets u. Dwade could've had a longer career but he git banged up
All time great shooters don’t even know their own mechanics because they’ve been shooting that way for so long and it’s all just automatic for them. Curry and ray Allen both say they don’t dip and yet they dip on every shot.
That’s a true jumpshot, set shots these days get called jump shots when they are actually set shots, the definition of a jumper is ball released at peak of the jump, curry does a hybrid, Allen and Jordan did a true jump shot. Most young people do a set shot and call it a jumper when in actuality they bend their knees and jump as they release (the one motion you refer to), this is a set shot.
comparing his shooting form with newer players such as stef curry, klay, beal, you can see major differences. His shot looks flatter compared to the new guys. His set point is higher (higher degree of triceps use instead of shoulder usage), jumps higher, uses 2 movement (instead of 1 movement ala stef kurry). The new shooters uses less jumping and have lower set point, which uses less energy, hence longer distance.
2 motion my friend why? 2 motion - the release of the ball is at the peak of his jump and from top of a shooter's head. I know, because this is where I based my midrange/3pt shooting😁
asian dude because he shoots at the top of his jump. He brings the ball back and shoots at the top. Steph has a one motion shot. That’s why his range is soooo much longer then Rays.
asian dude lol I didn’t want to write a long paragraph. One motion is that when you catch the ball at your waste you go straight up with it, without having a pause anywhere. Steph Curry. Two motion is that you have a pause typically at the top of the shot. For example, Ray Allen catches the ball at his waste and shoots at the highest point of his jump, so he tends to hold the ball at the top of his head for a second and then shoots. Same with Kobe. Most NBA players used to shoot two motion shots because that’s what was taught. curry made the one motion more popular because he was such a good shooter and could shoot with so much range. One motion is quicker but is typically easier to block because it’s typically released at a lower angle. Two motion is slower but typically harder to block because it’s released at the top of the jump and at a higher point.
