If ever there was a dark horse, it was George in that group he was in...ah their name is on the tip of my tongue. I always dug this one more than many at the time. Thanks for the upload.
I grew up in the 50s and 60s in the USA -- Motown -- and I remember when the Beatles first arrived here. I am a quiet person, so I was drawn to George. In those early years, I saw a fan magazine where he said he wished for wealth and fame. And then later, when fame and wealth came to him, his heart turned to spiritual matters. I was very deeply influenced by this -- all my life. Thank you.
@@africareact When I was young , I played accordion -- until high school. Then I switched to guitar. I really loved it. I am just a so-so singer ... but when I lived in Japan in the 1970s, I learned Japanese songs to sing in karaoke. Songs are a good way to learn a language too, I think
If I may, here is a "George story" with a mystery song to discover -- LOL... as George did. George had an older sister who married an American and lived in rural southern Illinois. In the summer of 1963, the Beatles had caught on in Europe but were still completely unknown in North America. They took a break from recording, and George decided to visit his sister in the small town, where NOBODY knew him. It would be the last vacation in his life where he could travel so freely. And he LOVED that small town. And especially the record store -- where he would spend hours. He ended up buying many records ... but there was this ONE record he really loved. It was the B side of a single. Very obscure. The A side was "Always" -- a cover by James Ray. But the B side .... George would make world famous MANY years later. (Thank you!)
Wow! this is interesting. Thanks for the info, so does that mean that this song was from the B side? what other songs from the B Side did he make famous, I would like to listen to them
@ - I am going to subscribe and see your other videos so I can respond better. I was kind of amazed you chose Dark Horse -- which is a good song for sure. One song I always love to hear from him is "I Need You" from the film "Help." I wish I could answer your question on B sides of 45 singles. But there is one VERY unknown song -- the B side to Lady Madonna (Beatles) -- that displays George's deep spiritual side. "The Inner Light" -- I would play that song -- in high school -- more than the A side. LOL. "The farther one travels, the less one knows." .. From the Tao.

Aww! thanks for this info and I'm glad you became deeply influenced by him. Do you sing or play musical instruments as well?
