I will not take upon myself to generalize what make my fellow countrymen happy. Instead, I will list a few things that make me happy: 1. Most services function well, be it transportation, schools or even the critisized health care system is at least okay, 2. History have taught us that, in times of crisis we need to stick together and pull in the same direction, (example: how fast we joined NATO), (and more privately that also goes for people who otherwise don´t want to interact with their neighbours (ha-ha)), 3. Nature is indeed very important and I use it to go for walks or collecting berries or mushrooms (and skiing in the winter), 4. I find it important to integrate to society in your own way also outside work (sports, theater, music, whatever makes you happy), 5. Safety, Finland is no utopia but I consider crime rates to be low in general and it is very safe to go about life, 6. The understanding that it is possible to live a fulfilling life without being a millionare (or even without having the most expensive car in the neighbourhood).
I am from Finland. The nature is paramount, nothing replaces the quiet of a forest. But! The trust and the work life balance is the key. How can you be happy without security and trust? How can you be happy without loving your actual life? Work is something you do, not who you are.
@@saturahman7510 Ok sorry gotta rant in finnish to this one: Mitä sä Satu oikein selität? Miten köyhyys liittyy nyt tähän, paitsi että jopa köyhät voi saada hyvää palvelua, ei vain rikkaat? That tax percentage is probably including also what the employer pays. If you are a median earner in Finland, 3200+ euros a month, you have at least a 2200+ net income. And you have to remember that you don't have to pay for anything social after that, i.e. retirement, health care, social security, etcetera are already included in the reduction from gross to net.
i live in northern finland nowdays, and mosqitoes are huge and evil here :D unlike in southern finland! In fact, i love short summers, they are PAIN for some of us, we like cold weather! i cant imagine me, myself, in huge city (huge as finnish huge, example, helsinki).
Russia and russian people are quite different matter. The individual people are mostly considered OK, a lot of imigrants are working just like anybody else. Mostly hard working people. The russian government is another matter. Autoritan rule and impulsive expandionist state of mind has made sure that the Finnish defence forces take it serious and conscription is a must when living next to them. Basic idea is that we can't avoid it if they attac, but we sure can make is really costly if they do such move. With 30/1 advantage in population in a 1-1 war they most likely would win in the end, but the would have to loose way more bodies than the total population of Finland, and still end up with guirella warfare here and there for years later. Even russians know that they really can't take an easy victory here. Now with Nato bacup, the odds are even worse for Russia. Personally I'm not worried. Russia might be impulsive, but they aren't stupid enough to wast millions of people for some forests and lakes. At least in Ukraine there is oil, gas and agricultule that has some economical value. Makes a lot more sense to go for that.
That 57% must be the highest it can get for only some of the filthy rich. Working as a nurse, i think the highest tax ive ever payed is more like 24%. Its a bit misleading to generalize that its that high in Finland, i dont know anyone whos ever had tax % even close to that.
who has 57% tax from income? you have to be filthy rich. Normal is about 10-30%. Atm I'm helping ppl in need as a job and ofc that isn't considered as important job so it doesn't pay that well so i have income tax 8%. Ofc there's mandatory job insurance, health care: number of things but they are about 10%. That pays healthcare, education, social security. I live comfy and I like my job and my tax rate is about 20% all.
As a Finn, I see many Russian people that are perfectly okay but the country has been always sus. Starting a war ("special operation") in Ukraine is a prime example of this.
Of course Kouvola has the building that gets branded as 'ugly'... And the saying 'happy' is a bit misleading, since I'd say that generally we think "things could be worse." So it's closer to general content, with room for improvements.
I would not work without 5 weeks of vacation per year, you just need to recharge your brain. You'll be super productive and excited to work again after some real time with family and enjoy summer propely. Work times... well, random for me. I prefer doing my work in two parts, work like 3-4 hours at morning, have little longer day break, maybe go training or play something, do the rest at afternoon. Coding 8 hours straight is just a killer, melts your brain and you are not really productive then.
For the crime rates, I think all except traffic crimes has been going down, Helsinki might have highest amount of violence crimes but it is also the most populated city. Environment and nature is making huge difference and the fact you can get into forest in short amount of time anywhere in Finland is important. Income tax depends how much you make, that 54% must be some of the wealthiest finns. My income tax is 27%
Finland used to have really good crime clearance rates meaning that pretty much every criminal got caught. Unfortunately, this has been going downhill about the last two decades which has increased crime rate a bit. The current status is not that bad yet but as a Finn, I'm worried if it gets any worse in the future. The interesting part is that the society must sometimes pay more than the actual damage caused by the criminal caused to solve the crimes. For example, street mugging or robbery causing slight damage may cost several hundreds euros to resolve when pushed through the bureaucracy but it must be done because otherwise the society gives a clear signal to criminals that slight criminal activity would be punishment free. However, the police currently seems to be a bit too trigger happy to quit searching the criminals if the expected amount of work clearly exceeds the damages caused.
No I do not.I think it is a good joke.Especially when our now a days goverment is planning to save on all sorts of public services that are very important to people who are dependant on them.Did not vote these parties so I have no sympathy for them.Hope the Ruotsalainen kansanpuolue sees the light and exits the government.
Actually the final blow to Nokia came from Micro$oft who sent Elop to lead Nokia into glorious Flop!😖 Before that some local “experts” -prime minister included -were preaching the glorious future with M$ Windoze, but the only thing they achieved was high employment in M$ technical support personnel because they really were essential for daily operation…🙁

Money doesn't make you happy, but it makes life easier
Having an extremely robust social security and healthcare system means less stress, more happiness.
Many people are poor here in Finland. Healthcare costs for everyone, it is not free.

love the time without the noise
trust is a big factor. think about it.
Opinion of Russia. "Enemy comes from east, if it comes from west it has flanked" unknown finnish military officer

Trusting is the nr1. You have your own space but if you really need help - you will got it.

Well, if you are "The happiest country In The World" for The 6th time on a row, In 2022 and always on top 5, you must be doing something right, right😂
Generally full working time is 37.5 hours per week or 40 depending on some political bs about how lunch break is calculated in it or not.
If I remember correctly the reparations were one of the main factors why Finland industrialized fast after the war.

Dont forget that we have trees, They are her when people are not..
And you seem to know 188,988 lakes!!!

Stability is a really Nordic thing something Russia never had.
40 hourrs and safe
We have the strongest medication for depression.

The only good thing that comes from the east is the sun
And the Sun can cause skin cancer so you should be careful even with that, too.
That 35 hour week is rubbish. The most common is 40 hours of work in a week.

I have lived here all my life and I hate it ! The weather is cold, it is dark in the winter and people are angry and negative.
Poor you. Change of attitude might help you find more positive people around you.
Why do you watch these videos ?
tarkista faktat, ennen kuin kommentoit. muuten KIITOS
you should not believe all the lies the TV tell you
That energy part is just utter bs
