The number of cities in the US coming back to the surface as drought and climate change set in is a little upsetting. For example, St Thomas which was once buried under Lake Mead.

It was neat hearing you reference the Egyptian god, Hapi, or which there were two. I presume this is not the one who was a son of Horus.

The village of Derwent is underneath Ladybower reservoir in Derbyshire, England. When the water levels get low, the clock tower of the church rises up out of the water. The area is also famous for being the area where the Dambusters tested their flying and bouncing bombs during WWII

You should look into the Pick-Sloan Missouri Basin Program. Many Native American towns, like Elbowoods ND, were flooded.

Underwater exploration is the next frontier!
o Thinking about my experience working in an underwater sea connector factory (now named Subconn), there are certainly huge fans of underwater exploration that have the resources to do significant things!
o Director James Cameron does deep sea research and is now a real-life deep sea adventurer (related to why he named the Avatar sequel Avatar: The Way of Water?).
Prepare yourself for a string of references and outrageous ideas!
    For Atlantis:
x Jason Mamoa, who plays Aquaman, was born in 1979.
x A video about Atlantis was a request of mine on the YT channel Decoding The Unknown and the video "The Real Atlantis: Finally Found?" was later made.
x In the original animated series Ducktales, Scrooge McDuck pulls a place that appears to be Atlantis out of the sea with floatation devices to win the contest against Flintheart Glumgold for who is the richest Duck in the World.
x The tv series Stargate Atlantis involves the city of Atlantis.
x When I was younger and first heard about Atlantis I immediately images an ancient city separating from the mainland by a type of crack and slowly sinking into the ocean.
x I think an underwater city called Atlantis should be built so it can used it for underwater vehicles tours and scuba tours.
x I think an island named Atlantis, which is designed like a paradise, should be built.
o If it sinks it can be an underwater city...no way to lose, right? (That is a half joke)
    For underwater cities:
x Creating ancient-looking underwater cities could provide amazing tour and scuba diving spots that would provide an Indiana Jones experience!
x How amazing would it be to see classic statues underwater!
x Imagine seeing ancient columns underwater!
x To see all the ancient artifacts sit on the ocean/sea floor like that would be so awesome!
    For the stele:
x Those should be all steles everywhere, that is the coolest stone public record!
x Should Brandy (Aubrey Plaza) have used a stele for her goals in the movie The To Do List? lol
x For underwater cities, they could have steles all over that have images and texts to read...how cool would that be to read while scuba diving in an underwater city!
x Mental Floss should get a stele, it could have all the video titles on it!
    In reference to garum:
x I refence fish sauce as an example of how value is highly subjective and has the potential to cause massive fluctuations in price.
o For example, buying fish sauce at one point was a status symbol and would cost most to more than all of one's income.
† Now you cannot pay certain people enough to eat it!
† Even if one does want to eat it, it can be bought for a little more than a dollar and lasts forever!
In reference to the underwater structure:
x In the film Jaws 3-D, there are underwater tunnels that tourists use as to see all the underwater life.
† That would be so cool to be able to hang out in an underwater structure like that, would be like something from a science-fiction/fantasty movie!
About flooding cities to make them underwater cities:
x If the place isn't useful for dry land, maybe it would be more useful for a scuba site!
x That would be pretty cool to go boating on an intentionally flooded city!
x It could be used as a place for scuba diving scavenger hunts!
About structures that are put underwater then drained:
x How cool would that be to stay in one of those places for a weekend after it was drained!
x How funny would that be to give one's address as one of those houses when it was underwater...then to ask why the package wasn't delived when the area was drained!
x Imagine living in one of those places before it was flooded then moving back in when it was drained!
o I suppose if one didn't like their neighbors they could ask to have the area flooded again lol.
Bayocean reminds me of this song we used to sing for Vacation Bible Song and Sunday School:
The wise man built his house upon the Rock,
The wise man built his house upon the Rock,
The wise man built his house upon the Rock,
And the rains came tumbling down.
The rains came down and the floods came up,
The rains came down and the floods came up,
The rains came down and the floods came up,
But the house on the Rock stood firm.
The foolish man built his house upon the sand,
The foolish man built his house upon the sand,
The foolish man built his house upon the sand,
And the rains came tumbling down.
The rains came down and the floods came up,
The rains came down and the floods came up,
The rains came down and the floods came up,
And the house on the sand fell flat.
    In relation to urban planning:
x In Nebraska a common historical point for the start of a settlement is when it is platted (when a map is made for the settlement).
x My hometown of Burwell had to be moved across the Loup River because the area was in was too low and was prone to water damage.
x Most people would plan their settlement to avoid things like floods, volcano eruptions, avalances etc. though for whatever reason some people do not consider those things to be important enough to consider.
o Apparently the foundation of their settlement is not their top priority.
† Being a Nebraskan and living in Nebraska (which I call The Foundation State), I find it hard to imagine any circumstance that could instantly compromise a settlement to be a reasonable choice to live or even to build anything on.
In relation to dramatic elimination of settlements:
x Though there is a lot of impressive geo-engineering today, being highly skeptical of whether an area can be modified to sustain a stable settlement should be a concern for anyone.
x Reminds me of the Led Zeppelin song "When The Levee Breaks"!
x In the bible, Sodom and Gomorrah were the two cities that were destroyed by God because they were wicked.
    Warning: Outrageous ideas ahead!
x What if...some of those underwater cities had people dressed as mermaids underwater!
o I don't know how they could breathe underwater that long, but it would be really cool if they could and it would be like the Mermaid scene in the movie Hook!
x Wouldn't a mermaid like Ariel be an excellent mascot for an underwater city!
x How amazing would it be to have an underwater vehicle that is like a submarine hardly larger than the body!
x Imagine if they could make all type of mechnical animals that could be driven as underwater vehicles, like a mechanical shark, whale, or something like a plesiosaurus!
x How fun would it be if actual treasure chests were hidden in underwater cities and scuba teams could try to find them!
x In a James Bond movie the car becomes a submarine...how cool would that be to be able to do that!
x If one spends enough time underwater they can potentially become friends with dolphins...
I think I know what goals will be on the Mental Floss Stele:
x Go on the maiden voyage of Titanic II
x Figure out what is on Oak Island.
x Join the Bastet Cat Society
o JK, though it is one of the group names and ideas I came up with, it is a need, and can easily be a sure superwinner!
