    From Vanishing Inc:
Game Changer is a sensational collection of magic and gambling effects with cards. This book picks up right where his critically-acclaimed debut Confident Deceptions left off. Jason has once again raised the bar with 18 new, powerful effects, gorgeously illustrated with 225 stunning high-quality, full-color photographs.
Jason makes his living with a deck of cards, and the routines in this book come directly from his close-up act. These effects have been performed over and over for years in front of lay audiences. You’ll find nothing but strong, polished routines that amaze and entertain.
Along with technical ability and presentational skill, Jason’s strengths also include his creativity. He creates new card plots and completely reinvents the classics.
The effects are constructed so as to baffle the sharpest audience. Although some routines in this book will require focused practice, any difficult sleights are taught in explicit detail, and the reward is well worth the work.

I saw Jason at the Session this year, and he done the big ones from the book there ( Game Changer, Catch me if you can, and Nick of time). The book sold out immediately after his lecture ( gutted). I am going to say that this was the best lecture for me at the session, the time just flew by. That is testament to the quality of the routines Jason was showing. And just how personable and funny he came across.

Paul Berry wasn’t it great. I don’t usually like card lectures in big rooms, but enjoyed every minute of this 😊😊

Darwin Ortiz' books are great... however, I've never seen Darwin be able to pull off anything he published. Every time I've seen Darwin perform, he's flashing and making mistakes. I've attended two of his lectures in the years past and in both lectures he had to restart several of his effects due to him making a mistake. He restarted one effect 5 times before he got it right! I thought he was kidding at first. I was disappointed when I found out he was just making mistakes over and over. It was such a disappointment after reading so much great stuff from his books.

I've heard better things about Jason, however... so I'm looking forward to delving into his material. Thank you for this review. :)

@@jamesmarshall9742 That's a shame. I don't really get into lectures that much as I find that the format isn't great for learning. Card's in hand with a book or record material or 1:1 coaching is really the only way I can learn. Unless the lecture is very entertaining, which is pretty rare. As you say though, the books are great and I still get loads from them. Have a great Christmas James. 😊

Yeah that’s the difference between putting out stuff like this for magicians and actually performing in the real world. Most of the people who release books and products aren’t pros, and those that are typically do the classics when they actually gig not faro work and ACAAN. Eugene Burger released all that beautiful work on meaning and scripting and bizarre magick etc, but in the real world he did sponge balls. There’s nothing wrong with that.

That’s a shame you had that experience with Darwin bc he is the real real deal. But even Michael Jordan had a bad game. And lecturing material is much different than preforming for lay ppl you’re so much less focused in when performing for magicians bc you know you are going to explain it after regardless. And I think it’s on a subconscious level more than a conscious level. I’m one of Jason’s students and hearing him talk about how good Darwin really is and was is pretty cool

"Fannickity Faff"?I agree a bit with The Fonz, Jason is a bit of a showoff. You don't need all the cardistry before presenting a routine. It would put at a level of inadequacy, if that makes sense. Great review though.

I agree with the thing about too much Cardistry, but there really is very little of that in this book and, for me, these routines are all very strong. Thanks loads and have a great Christmas. 😊

That book cover is cringe though, the whole cigar smoking at the card table with girls is played out and corny as fuck. Lmao.
