They vote the party line and buy votes from members of the other party by adding pork spending on non-vital projects just because that congressperson wants a bridge built over some railroad tracks on a road they take to get to the family's cottage just because that person doesn't like waiting for the train to pass. There was one bill that also had 4,983 earmarks added. They vote without reading it because they've made the promise to vote a certain way to get their project paid for.
I believe any item added to a bill, must have the author/originator name.

@@loriwidener1935 pork spending or pork bills are things that are usually introduced into bills trying to be passed that have 0 to do with what is needed. Say a budget needs to be passed. Someone in Congress decides that their district needs a new golf course, museum funding, or any other project that has little to nothing to do with what needs to pass. Usually somewhere down in the latter 800 pages of that bill. It happened with Covid, it happened with the defense bills, and also happened during funding for the border...
Sad fact is that money for defense is not being applied to the defense. If it was we wouldn't be so far behind Russia and China on our defense systems. So where is the money actually being spent?

On Sept, 10 2001, the day before 9/11 happened, Donald Rumsfeld said on TV that the treasury dept. cannot account for 2.6 TRILLION dollars and are conducting an audit to see where the money went. When the pentagon got hit with the plane, the next day, the room that was doing the audit, with all the receipts and records, was destroyed in the crash.
