The government assists Dangote for their own gain. Dangote is paying and will be paying them every penny back. Nigerians are blinded by envy, jealousy and stupidity. If monopolizing the business sector will give us cheaper fuels, better naira rate and so on, let him monopolize it. It's better than having a crazy government ruling over us.
Rejoicing over his pain makes us no better than the government we complain about

I usually agree with a lot of things Seun and Verydarkblackman but this one they are 90% wrong, every billionaire in the world enjoys some benefits from their governments either in terms of tax cuts or favorable policies because of the benefit they bring to the economy as a whole. there are many factors that go into valuations( to Seun Kuti's point) the refinery that was sold in the US; how old was it, what is the Technology used, what is the cost of developing it, if he spent $100million on just the land alone, you can image the other cost inquired, so paying $2billion for 20% shouldn't be far from the valuation. the Nigerian government will cripple this country.

"Guys, you don’t understand the game. The price of cement was around 1000 naira before Dangote built his Kogi cement plant. Given his substantial production volume, a bag of cement should ideally be sold for 700 - 800 naira, considering that the cost of production per bag is not up to 500 naira. However, the current market price is significantly higher.
Regarding fuel prices: Some people believe that when Dangote’s refinery commences full operation, fuel prices may not necessarily decrease; instead, there could be an increase in pump prices after running the plant for about a year. The powerful individuals who have previously taken actions against average capacity investors are now facing similar challenges themselves. In a recent interview, Dangote mentioned that some marketers are importing fake fuel. It’s interesting that he has raised this concern now, as it hasn’t been a prominent topic before.

Monopoly is the fault of your bad government policy, not the fault of the business man. Channel your energy to your government officials taking bribe to allow monopolistic behavior by businesses. Regarding Seun comment on the amount invested by the Federal government in comparison to Sinclair Refinery recently sold for $2.6 billion. That refinery is over 100 years old, so is that a fair comparison? How would that compare to a newly build refinery with the latest technology and new regulations and so on. This does not make any sense. Nigerians are not ready.

If he Dangote is not in the loop of of him being a monopoly, what makes him think that his refinery will succeed when state owned refinery could not succed, he started and built a refinery in 4yrs when Nigeria cannot rven complete any in more than 30yrs.
