- Welcome back to series 2 of my POV project!
This time I took to the streets as a night owl shooting a favourite of mine, Cinestill800T. I drive past this area almost everyday and thought of how isolated the subjects feel in the darkness. It inspired me to talk a walk along these streets to document the silence of it all. This was the first time I ever shot with long exposure using a cable release with film. And let me tell you, there definitely will be more of that in the near future. Super enjoyable!
Also, highlight: I didn't get murdered :)

haha always trust photographers to make the sketchiest choices - first going out alone at night and then skipping out on moon cake. I can relate to both lol. Great photo walk! Love cinestill
We do what we gotta do for those shots 😆 ! Thank you. I'm glad that you can relate :))
Let's Goooooo🔥
incredible photos!
Thank you so much! 😁
hey! I just bought that camera. What's the name of the thingy you screwed to the "take photo button".
Hello! Do you mean the long wire-like thingy? It's a cable release that helps with controlling shutter times. You can buy them on Amazon for about $12CAD.
How do you meter the light? These are great photos
Thank you! I used my digital camera to meter and you can also try an app called Light Meter on your phone :)
@@MayShi Great photos!
Which is better? The app or the camera itself? Thanks!
@@jonx76 camera is definitely better and more accurate but takes more time. With the app you could start to learn more about settings if you pay attention to it.
What did you place your aperture at?
It ranged from 5.6-8 :)
Why does this look like someplace I pass by in the Bay Area…?
Ohh interesting whereabouts in SF?
@@MayShi I swear this looks like a neighborhood I have been through off of 101….
Who doesn't go home for cake?!
Technically, it's not cake. I'd be sprinting back if it was. 🤣
@@MayShi What is it?
@@Alec_Collins78 we eat every Lunar year day in Chinese culture. It's a small thick pastry usually filled with egg yolk, red bean, or/and combination of sesame seeds.
@@MayShi Thanks. Sounds good.
