So much of the weird spec issues are hardware limitations. Does it have a faster sensor read-out speed, or greater dynamic range and low-light? (Canon R5/R6 vs Sony a7rv/a7iv) More pixels, or faster readout? (a7rv vs a7siii) Does it push the limits in several areas, but struggle with heat management or battery life? (Canon R5/R5c) Does it fit more of these features into the sensor at a lower price by being a smaller sensor? (Canon C70/Sony FX30) or by limiting third party options and charging more for lenses (Canon R series) or memory cards (Sony) or by having slower R&D (Nikon, Panasonic)?

My perfect hybrid camera would be R5 with some little changes, clog 2, stacked sensor, and full hdmi, plus same video compressions like c70, and the same screen as the sony a7rV r5 is all-ready great for photo so I dont need much there. And for video, I would just like C70 with a full frame sensor and a evf, at least the one r5 has, , the form factor is fine for me. So I guess I'm really close to my perfect camera and maybe the nest gen will fill my needs. I do like the ergo of the fx6 but I do prefer the compactness of c70. Keep up the great work!

I'm shooting on my iPhone for our channel about life in Iceland and I have been looking at reviews and learning about gear, camera basics and lighting, etc. I didn't even know what ISO was 2 months ago haha. Anyways, the question still remains, why is it so hard? I can see all these great TH-cam channels talking about similar things. I want to go with Canon because I just like the video quality better for whatever reason, its creamy, if that makes sense but less lenses. Sony seems to be the hip option with more options ... I will keep learning by listening to you guys so keep up the good work.
I have a 3.5k budget. I'm eyeing the XH2S or the S5 ii. I really want to start shooting professionally both videos and photos. Mostly youtube videos though. I also want to travel with the camera. What do you guys think I should do? Or should I wait for the ZV-E100?
Idk if you would consider the FX30 or not but I have had a great deal of fun with mine. Good lens ecosystem, all the codecs you want. The channel I am posting from now uses it and the big brother FX3. I also have another shorts channel that primarily uses the 30. Will vouch

I’m a Fuji XT20 user, but use the iPhone for my channel. I want a camera which does video better, but Fuji’s new cameras are as expensive as full frame models of Sony, Canon, LUMIX. So I’m really tempted to switch - but Sony APSC models are old (except for the FX30, which I don’t want to buy because it’s best for video and I want a hybrid one) and Canon’s R7 has no lens. So I may just go full frame even if I wouldn’t mind staying in APSC because of cheaper lenses.
The Canon ecosystem is still the best. (and cooler, because everyone is getting the same dull sharp Sony look) I Earn a lot of money with combining photo and video at events with my R5. This is something Sony just can't compete with.

For me is switching in a split second to video to photo really handy for me with the R5 because of its digital settings knob. Other wise I would love to dance with Sony. One day haha.
I would be very happy with an A 7iv with the rolling shutter under 10.ms, external recording to an ssd, a built in fan, and the ability to keep the photo and video settings saved so that you only need to switch the dial in the middle of a shoot and not have to set shutter & exposure. Not the perfect camera, but as someone who has to ‘do it all’ in terms of content creation, it would make things just that much easier.

Shooting on the FX3. Beyond annoyed that Sony won’t put in shutter angle or option to turn off noise reduction. You can do it on the FX6 which is the same sensor. It’s just pure cripple hammer bs from Sony. They’re almost as bad as Canon.

The A74 4K60 crop is a slow sensor readout byproduct. Same reason it has so much rolling shutter artifacting. So yeah, impossible via firmware.
I wish the R6 mk2 had pixel shift. Good recap on the new camera and related accessory market. Learned about the new Rode. Cool.
