Jennifer & Richard decided to sell everything they own to live in their self-converted skoolie named Burli. After being hired to work as the camp hosts at a KOA in Michigan, they listed their home & took a giant leap into the unknown. Their house sold just two days after being listed while their bus was still only a shell. This rerouted Jennifer & Richard to move into Jennifer's parents' house with their teenage son as they finished building the rest of their bus. Even though the beginning stages of buslife were challenging, they both agree that it's a decision they would make over & over again.
Burli the bus features a full-size stove/oven, a double-door refrigerator & freezer, a deep sink, poured epoxy countertops, & pre-built cabinets in their kitchen. Although the kitchen is beautiful, Burli's magic doesn't stop there. The rig also features a spacious living room with a pullout couch & removable hammock chair that's perfect for hosting cozy movie nights. Last but not least, this one-of-a-kind skoolie features a hallway that leads to a full-sized bathroom, a large closet, & the main bedroom, making it the perfect home on wheels for this family of three.

They are wonderful people I had the privilege of meeting them in Michigan before they set sail. My daughter and I got to do a quick walk thru tour of their bus then :) So glad they are loving their journey.

Very interesting to see all those differences! We are from Germany and living in our Volkswagen LT28. As we are traveling through North America at the moment we love to see all the different types of camping cars.

Beautiful bus, well designed space, only thing I would add some kind of table to have meals.
They have a table, there is a lagoon mount by the sofa. They usually eat outdoors but use the table if they can't eat outside.
Love the colors inside and just neatness! Love the private bunk for the tall 14yr old. But for me my Favorite 🤩 thing is the front grill!!! 🥰🥰😂

That kitchen is absolutely beautiful !! The color, cabinets, pull out drawers, pantry, countertops. It's so refreshing to see something different than the usual butcher block countertops in rigs. Your countertops looks so much like a kitchen, to me. Tfs

Beautiful build. But considering I am by myself and have absolutely no knowledge of solar (a must) or anything else I think I’ll keep my dream where it is. For now!
You can start small, as solar goes, and you will gradually get the hang of it. That's how my husband and I did it. At first we were just using solar as a small auxiliary source but as we learned more and grew more comfortable with it, we increased our equipment as we were able to and now we are totally off-grid! It does require regular observation- checking voltage and such- especially during overcast times- but it becomes a habit and a regular part of life. It is VERY LIBERATING, to be free of utility companies!
