I like roller coasters and have ridden this many times. if your GP, it's not that bad. when you're going straight down, there are no positive or negative g's, so it feels like you're getting launched forward. the ride is also over fairly quick.
@Maira Fahad When you go down a normal hill on a roller coaster, you get some lateral g's from moving forward, and some negative g's from the downward movement which cause you to somtimes rise out of your seat. When your going straight down, the negative g's become lateral g's because they are putting the same force on you as the lateral g's from forward movement, so you are just pressed into your seat as if you are launching forward. Griffin looks way more intimidating than it actually is. The biggest thrill you get is from the fact it's a floorless coaster so if you are lucky enough to end up in the front row seat farthest to the right, you get the sense that your flying because there's nothing but air around you(if you don't pay attention to the seats to your left). The ride is also very short considering that you spend about as much time going around the track as you do on the lift hill. I know some BGW regulars may disagree with me, but I would go on to say that Verbolten and Invadr are both more intense than Griffin and they are family coasters, but I do enjoy a ride on this gem.

@squillz8310 You get mostly lateral G's because the drop is 90°, so you're going forward, towards the ground. You do get a little bit of negative G's at the beginning of the drop and enough positive G's at the bottom to staple your harness, but for the majority of the drop, it's lateral.
The back seats are the most exhilarating because they are further back on the arc, when starting the back goes horizontally for a short 2-3’ then drops straight down with a whip as it rounds the arch.
that's actually the anti-rollback pins flapping up and down due to the G-forces at the bottom of the drop. those pins engage with the track on the lift hill, so if the chain lift stops, the train is held in place.
Don't be fooled by the visuals. It's one of the smoothest roller coasters due to its flying wing design. The front row is not scary at all if you like coasters. you see your feet dangling in front of you the whole ride, like you're flying. No other type of coaster is like that.
