We had a Lakeview room in Moorea, 3rd floor for our 40th anniversary August 2021. It was magical. Saw the fireworks from our balcony and when they had test midnight fireworks. It was definitely worth the extra points. Going to stay at Tokelau this August. Great information. Thanks.
Great video, thanks so much! We are going to be staying in a Lake View room and I will definitely request the 3rd floor. I wasn’t aware of this website, normally I just call DVC for my room requests, thanks again! Now I’m going to see if you’ve done a video on Animal Kingdom Villas because we are staying there too.
Thank you so much for this video! We've just learned of DVC and just booked our trip for Oct. If we are unable to get Tokelau 3914 or 3915 is there a next best view in general to request? Or are those two rooms the only chance to view anything other than the gardens? We do not have kiddos and will open/close the parks but I'd love to have an extra magical view none the less. Thank you!
We are staying for 2 nights before our disney cruise in May. Do you know are the rooms are remodeled now? Thinking of requesting in the Tokelau building. There is 5 of us (1 kid, 2 babies and 2 adults)
For the Bungalos, I recommend staying towards the left side because then you will not hear the large Magic Kingdom boat every few minutes. I stayed two nights and it was incredible.
@@ShannonFord Because of all the extra points I had banked from last year because I could not travel, I figured that I might as well enjoy 2 nights in comfort. We did not even go to the parks. The speakers on the deck with the fireworks audio is amazing. The pool is kind of a novelty, but cool.
i stayed here this past september and i requested tokelau as well, we ended up on the 2nd floor, but after walking around the resort in the future i would request the first floor as well like you. Also i wouldn't spend the extra points on lake view if you end up on the first floor of Moorea all you can see is the walkway to the bungalows mostly lol
Hi there - great video! I have a question, maybe a stupid one, but We don’t have DVC but are hoping to rent one of the DVC studios. Can this be done through touring plans or are they only for DVC owners?
This video was SO HELPFUL!! It’s going to be our first trip to WDW. We’re trying to decide between a tower room in the Contemporary and one of these Villa rooms. They’re around the same price, surprisingly. Can you (or anyone happening to read this comment) give me an estimate of how long it would take to walk to the Great Hall or the TTC from these villas? Just approximately. We like the feel of the Poly so much more, but also want easy MK access.😁
Are you referring to a Studio at Bay Lake Tower? If so, hands down go with Poly unless there is no more than 2 people in the room. BLT has the smallest studios and Poly has the largest. As far as the walk, it's maybe 5 minutes. Poly will also give you easier access to Epcot, as you can walk to TTC and take 1 monorail, rather than 2.
I agree; the rooms in the DVC Poly are very large, larger than any other studio in the park. Also, while it is maybe a 5-10 minute walk to the Great Hall, the TTC is next door to most of the Villas--so you have boat and monorail access to the Magic Kingdom, and monorail access to EPCOT as well.
Hi! Watching from the U.K.! Can I please ask, how far in advance would you make your room request? I don’t want to do it too early and it be missed, or too late and someone else beat us to it! Thank you :)
@@ShannonFord it’s our first time flying over, first time renting DVC (first time everything!) your videos have been so helpful thank you so much! We’re in lake view at Poly and savannah view at Kidani - both studios 💗 your videos helped us choose which rooms to request 🤞🏽✨
The pictures and explanations were very helpful, thank you.
You are welcome!

That must have been amazing!!!
Have fun in August!
This is so helpful!

Wow this is excellent. Thank you for such an informative video. We are planning our first trip next year and that’s has been more than enlightening:)

Thanks. I have a whole series on every Disney resort. Just look in my playlists. There are 3 videos on AKL depending on which part you are staying
@@ShannonFord Thanks I found it, I’m watching it right now, such great info!
Great video thanks
Thanks

Those are the most requested room. They are hard to get. After that, I think it’s more about location rather than view.

I know it when through a refurb recently. I think it’s done, but I’m not great at keeping track of all the refurbishments and when they are completed.
Great video! Do you recall if there was a lot of noise from people entering/exiting the outside stairs?
We never heard anything. Most people don’t use them
@@ShannonFord awesome thanks! we just requested a room near the stairs on the third floor
Can you speak about the pullout sofas... Are they comfortable?
They are typical pullout sofas. Comfortable enough, but not ideal. The Murphy beds are great though
@@ShannonFord do the standard view rooms now have murphy beds?
@@carriecook5489 most do. They are being renovated. However, I know there has been supply chain issues, so some may be delayed
Why do you like ground floor the best? Thanks
We find them easier. No worries about where the elevator is.
That’s very true, especially with my 3 crazies it might be easier. Thanks:)

Thanks for that information. I'm sure it was incredible. Definitely a bucket list item for me

They definitely learned from that one and put a hot tub in the Cabins at Copper Creek.

Not a stupid question at all. Yes it can. All you need is your reservation number. The resort won’t know if you are the owner or not.

Using TouringPlans, it needs to be done at least 31 days before your check-in date. They email them to Disney at 30 days before.
@@ShannonFord thanks for replying! We don’t go until November but I’ve just made a request :)
