  • Devgad was a beautiful stop on our Road Trip along the Konkan Coast.
Our previous location on this road trip was Dapoli in Maharashtra.
This episode portrays one of the most beautiful locations on trip, a village in Maharashtra known as Devgad
If you are new here, do check out the road trip trailer video and previous episodes of this series.
We did a stop on the way to devgad at Ratnagiri, it is 123 km from dapoli, if you go along the coastal line and dabhol port falls on the way.
When we reached the port, the Google Map started showing us a ferry symbol instead of road ahead , and we became topsy-turvy , trying to find out what's going on here.
Turned out Dabhol port has a ferry service , which helps you cross the vashishtha river alongwith your car for a very cheap price even when compared to road transport taxes.
    That was fun and scenic!
We reached Ratnagiri around 1 pm and went to bhatye beach which falls on the way to devgad
This beach has a very very soft brownish sand is flat, and seems quite clean,
There seems to be a huge resort on the beach called ratnagiri beach resort, and it seems it was closed due to covid and never opened up.
We liked it so much here, we spend more time than anticipated and we reached devgad later than expected.
We found this Diamond Hotel in Devgad city area, it was decent and confortable, we stayed there for two nights
Driving through this beautiful town to get to devgad beach. Quoting one of the articles I read about it says: "
More than anything, though, it's a visual spectacle."
Breakfast subtitle: The breakfast place was very friendly, cheap , clean and quality was good
Up there near the windmill farm is a garden to enjoy view from top and there is the start point for the zipline, and food stalls in the evening.
For lunch we went to a good vegetarian restaurant - Prapanch which is located in Devgad market area, It was clean, cheap and food was good.
There are two more beached on the outskirts of devgad , first one on our stop is mithmumbri beach,
We are stopping for a quick bite of vadapau on the way, while our snack is getting prepared, we're visit the shore on the opposite side of road from the food stall. The sand is very soft and creamish in color.
This beach is a textbook definition of serene, you can swim here but beware of those little camouflaughed monsters.
There are a few benches along the beach , we sunset time was nearing, we saw people occupying those benches to enjoy the view.
Next stop , is the Taramumbri beach, which is a small rocky beach , you can see mithmumbri standing there.
For dinner we tried maharashtrian veg thali, the taste of the curries was lipsmacking.
Stay tuned for more on this road trip.
