I have a similar narrow patch of lawn which we just put drip irrigation hose under the surface. After close to 3 years, I've had no issues. Of course this means digging up what's already there which may not be ideal.

Perfect mate, glad it's worked out for you! I had considered trenching and running something underneath, but I have Phone and Power running under there for the houses behind mine, so wasn't super keen on that plan. Would have been my best option had that not been an issue though 🤙

MP rotators will be your friend. They even have some designed for narrow strips

Yeah, I looked at those a lot. I didn't want to trench down the middle of that section though. Found a solution though 👍

It was worth doing the experiment. I haven't seen one of those in years 👍

Really you need side strip popups, just use above ground hose on spikes against the fence if you want a easy fix. or put them underground for a neat finish. Hunter make the best rotator nozzles.

Do you guys in Australia have to maintain the pavement Area same as they do in the USA?. Shame the tractor didn't work. 😢

I suppose we technically don't "have to" ... but no one else will, so if we don't, it ends up looking like a jungle.

If pop ups are a potential option could they just not be in multiple zones?

    • @thelionlawn

Unfortunately it's the length of the area vs the diameter of the pop ups required to get even coverage. To avoid watering the road, each pop-up can only have a 1.8m radius, which means they need to be set about 3m apart from each other. So it would mean 14 or so pop ups, which just isn't feasible. Frustrating for sure!

@@thelionlawn Ah i see. I think the the side strip nozzles are 1.5 x 9.0m as well so just not wide enough. Annoying.

@@craigmonty still better than nothing and you could just add double the heads on gutter and fence line for full coverage.

@@thelionlawnas Craigmonty said , the side strip nozzles are pretty good,
It’s hard to say with out knowing your water pressure and flow , but with hood pressure and flow , mine would spray a little over 2 meters wide by 10 meters in a rectangular shape as designed by hunter.
The other solution would be to pull the diff out of the tractor and re build it with some high way gears , 3:55 ratio maybe 🤣

@@WOODZY_ 🤣 I've probably got an old 3.55 set kicking around the shed somewhere, why didn't I think of that?! 🤣🤙

Get rid of the grass mate, replace it with crushed granite 👍

If I get rid of any more grass I'll have to swap to making videos about something else! Haha. I like the grass there, it's a nice long strip so it looks good when it's in good nick 👌

I want to see the tractor sprinkler in use at the other property with a driver in the drivers seat please (aka a Barbie) 😂
