My brother and I were at this game. Most of the Clemson fans that hadn’t gotten back to their seats after halftime, missed the Bennett to Richardson lateral on the second half kick. A lot of them never came back.
Steve Taneyhill would later go on to coach high school football in the town where I grew up and would lead them to a state championship or two (I don't rightly recall). Great to see him in his playing days.
Lamont Pegues RB Clemson. I saw him in a couple high school games. His Thomasville Bulldogs beat my Forest Hills Yellow Jackets in the regional finals in North Carolina to win the 2A State Championship. Tough RB with a low center of gravity. Hard to tackle. I think he got in some trouble while at Clemson.
