I think that they should go to a morgue and read about what happened to that person from speeding or drinking or show them videos of accidents from kids their age what happened to them or what they have done. I know when I went to school they did show a video that was pretty rough about what could happen when you make stupid choices. I still have that picture in my head at one of the things that I saw and I will for the rest of my life.
We had the "scared straight" film back in the 60s, a movie that was shown to HS students taking driver's ed. Whether it had an impact is unknown, for the time it was pretty gruesome. In reality, kids generally have short-term memories and many have raging chemistry going on. Put some of them behind the wheel, especially after drinking and you now have a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. I know, I've been with many schoolmates on those nights and I consider myself lucky that I escaped getting injured or killed during drag races and other stupid driving stunts. I worked for a year after HS and I also had to take care of my military reserve obligation. I wanted to save up for a car and to start college. I loved muscle cars and made a dumb move by putting a deposit on a new Plymouth Roadrunner. Fortunately, I came to my senses over the fact college was a 50-mile commute each way so I canceled my order and bought a new VW instead.
People who like to do high speed pursuits and run from the police need a good close-up dose of reality and seeing what happens when they do stupid things.
They don't give a s***. Probably think it's cool. And then you have people like the moron upthread blaming the cops for pursuing a violent felon instead of just letting him go. This is why California is such a s***hole and they're all coming to my state and ruining it, too.

"2 Killed In Horrific Pursuit Crash" Should be called, "2 Killed in Horrific Push Crash." Most officers PUSH the runner with no plan on how to stop them so, after the chase/push starts, everything that happens was initiated by the cops.

Neither of the deceased victims, according to Gloria Huerta, Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, were the kidnapping victims."
This is why I'm against these high speed pursuits. Usually, it's innocent people that get killed. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for an alternative to these. Prayers for these victims/families.
They were kidnappers escaping with their victim. Would you rather them get away with the female kidnapping victim who could a suffer unimaginable fate at thier hands, or stop them....?
Doesn’t look like the home wasn’t damaged only the wall, why was it deemed unsafe to inhabit? Let the owners decide if they want to stay there…probably more inhabitable than any homeless encampment.
My guess would be from all the noise and potential of detectives and biohazard/csi cleanup crews going in and out of the property invading the homeowners literal privacy and its not like the homeowner would be like. Photographers, media, and families possibly visiting the site. It's just deemed unsafe as to protect the homeowner and their family if they have kids too. Sharp objects and glass that would be scattered through the property is massively unsafe as well. I could also be 100% wrong but it's a plausible response
@@usingwolfram1352 you’re probably correct…it protects the city from a lawsuit from the homeowner if they injure themselves, and sue because the house wasn’t red tagged. Ridiculous people can’t take responsibility for themselves, lawyers run everything …also, the house being red tagged, the owner will expedite clean up so not to be an eyesore.
billyrayband. Even though I agree with you, and it's just my opion, with a crash like this, I think they remove the people first so in case of gasoline and hot spots like the motor and electrical, that the people get removed in case of a fire breaks out. I'm just assuming, but it makes sense.
So many youngsters end this way and it's not only tragic but so preventable as well! I wish we had speed limiters on cars at 55 mph! To hell with speed!
You're right Harry, police shouldn't be involved in pursuits, especially if the person they are chasing just raped and murdered one of your loved ones. Also, most pursuits are the results of trying to enforce traffic laws, cops should not be enforcing such laws to avoid pursuits.
"The two other occupants of the truck, a 49-year-old Yucaipa man and a 32-year-old Highland woman, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were not victims of the kidnapping incident, Sheriff’s spokeswoman Gloria Huerta said, but their relationship to the suspect wasn’t immediately known."
There should be the strictest criteria possible for high speed pursuit by law enforcement. This is not to say that every effort should not be made to bring suspects to justice, only that aerial observation has them in view at all times. They have to stop eventually. Or can be surrounded at a location where the public is not so much at risk. Chasing any vehicle puts too many innocent lives in danger. It's not fair. It's the same as being responsible for the innocent people who are killed. It's the same because the officers know people are likely to die yet they make that choice to freely and willingly put those innocent lives in danger.
Vehicles always took extreme damage in crashes like this, but these vehicles these days are shredded into metal and plastic hell. No strength to handle even a much less extreme crash but horrific in this type.
It's a good thing we have cops pursuing people at high speed so that when they crash the cars will crumple up like a squashed beer can and take care of the occupants in quick fashion
This is why high speed police pursuits are rarely performed in other developed countries. They are done only when required, in exceptional circumstances, but rarely necessary, and often get called off for safety reasons. And in most cases police actually know who the driver is. When someone is being pursued, as wrong as they are by not stopping ,they often drive in a panic and outside of their ability as a driver and they usually crash. Some may be criminals but not all are, and the law also states that a pursuit must not put the general public, or even passengers in the offending vehicle, or indeed even the police, in danger. We could argue all day on that one. These innocent residents could have easily been injured or killed due to the pursuit. I recall one pusruit some time ago where the car being chased lost control on a corner in a residential area and went through the front fence of a house. This was during the day. The police vehicle pursuing the car also lost control, (it was found later that the police driver was driving beyond his capability, losing control), he also went through another part of the house front fence across a huge lawn and crashed into the front verandah of the house where a baby in a pram was, killing the baby. Great bit of pursuit driving that was. Not. And the driver of the vehicle being pursued was being chased for simply not being able to produce a licence at a traffic stop, he took off in a panic, was the owner of the car, and had no recorded convictions. and police knew where he lived from licence plate check. Old fashioned police work could have been done later where police could have visited the driver's address. And someone's baby had to die because of an unnecessary pursuit that involved unsafe driving by police? I am not anti police either, in fact the opposite, however, like some truck drivers who are "cowboys", there are some "cowboy" police drivers as well sadly.
You are so right that it boggles my mind! It is so maddening that some of the so called professionals of law enforcement don’t want to understand the simple observations that any humble person could see. Which is why unfortunately, that so many people have such a negative attitude about the important job that most police are involved in.
Nothing is more important than somebody’s life. Luckily this time no law-abiding drivers stopped the pursuit with their lives and the home owners also escaped injury. Hope the police got the result that they wanted. Permanently freed the woman from the kidnappers. Well done.
@@ShivREdits pretty sure one of the passengers was the victim of the kidnapping... so lets not say such shitty things when theres innocent people dead.
This is why you dont run from the police . There's no victims here. I'm glad no one in the house was injured. These people asked for this . As the saying goes " you get what you ask for ". The driver should be charged with two counts of Murder. This would be the perfect video to show at every school across America. To show the youth , that these are the end results when you commit a crime and try and out run the Police .
Why are the cops allowed to create a bigger safety problem chasing a speeder or 30 cops throwing spike strips then chasing them for another 500 miles around town until they decide it's supper time. SO BASICALLY WOULD ANYONE WANT CARS GOING 150 MPH THROUGH TOWN JEOPARDIZING CHILDREN PLAYING IN THERE FRONT YARDS.

Fortunately, I came to my senses over the fact college was a 50-mile commute each way so I canceled my order and bought a new VW instead.
yes.
During hoe coming week, we had a wrecked car placed at the school entrance with don’t drink and drive messaging
No kidnapping victims were killed. The truck matched the description for one used in a kidnapping.

TRAGIC? How the fuck is this tragic? These two were kidnapping suspects fleeing police. This is bloody awesome! Save the taxpayers a shit load of time and money.
Now the police department will be sued by the family’s and get millions even though they ran away from the police.
What!? The cops don't tell or ask criminal drivers to drive recklessly. It was a decision those drivers made that caused death and injury.
@@PanameraTurboSEHybrid True, don't think the family can sue since it happened in commission of a crime, and as long as the police department stayed within their pursuit policy.

Survivor guilt for the driver.
Oh well.

He's clearly not the type to feel any guilt, just entitlement. Hopefully he'll never fully recover.

"2 Killed In Horrific Pursuit Crash" Should be called, "2 Killed in Horrific Push Crash." Most officers PUSH the runner with no plan on how to stop them so, after the chase/push starts, everything that happens was initiated by the cops.
I feel bad for the first responders having to cut the remains out of the wreckage. When you see this as a result of what can happen if you don't pull over when instructed by an officer vs. a ticket or going to jail, it cannot make it any clearer. Glad no one else died and they didn't run into the house...

According to accident data center "2 Dead After Pursuit Suspect Crashes Into Home(link is external)
A 49-year-old male and a 32-year-old female who had been in the vehicle with Lara were both killed in the crash and declared dead at the scene. Neither of the deceased victims, according to Gloria Huerta, Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, were the kidnapping victims."
Abolish police immunity and demilitarize them.
This is why I'm against these high speed pursuits. Usually, it's innocent people that get killed. Unfortunately, I don't have an answer for an alternative to these. Prayers for these victims/families.
And yet if these people know there will be no repercussions, things will be even worse.
They were kidnappers escaping with their victim. Would you rather them get away with the female kidnapping victim who could a suffer unimaginable fate at thier hands, or stop them....?
They show pictures but don’t say what happened to cause the crash. Just show a very wrecked car.

The driver was clearly a danger to all of us.
Good ending ! Consequences need to happen a LOT more. Sick of idiots yet ?
Great ending.
Yes!
fun fact: both occupants respawned at the hospital

Lmao. Yes
seems kind of pointless to do all this on scene. Throw a sheet on the truck and hall it away. You don't even need to write any tickets.
billyrayband. Even though I agree with you, and it's just my opion, with a crash like this, I think they remove the people first so in case of gasoline and hot spots like the motor and electrical, that the people get removed in case of a fire breaks out. I'm just assuming, but it makes sense.

Two obvious reasons, #1. Out of respect to the deceased individuals.
And #2. TH-cam doesn't allow graphic content to be shown on the platform.

Drive like hell and you'll get there.
Why do the police keep chasing suspects? They risk the possibility of hurting others on the street.
You're right Harry, police shouldn't be involved in pursuits, especially if the person they are chasing just raped and murdered one of your loved ones. Also, most pursuits are the results of trying to enforce traffic laws, cops should not be enforcing such laws to avoid pursuits.

thats because their wasnt one
I don't see how the second man/kidnapper even survived the crash. Not much left of the pickup. May he never again see the light of day.
Why is the house red tagged - the PU hit the corner of a wall around the yard?
sorry to be a hard ass, but I hope that it was only the people in the car that died. They won't be trying anymore high speed escapes...
Being stupid never ends well. You live by the sword, eventually you die by it.
What kind of speed would you have to be going for that car to fold up like that?
My guess just from seeing car/pickup vs bridges other cars is over 80 mph but I can’t tell what the vehicle is.
No strength to handle even a much less extreme crash but horrific in this type.
also in combination with the decline of society and faster vehicles

Taking advantage of science and physics.
The driver's eyes were blue, one blew fifty feet away.
Expect more insanity. The border is wide open.
I couldn't tell what that was until reading the text. Running always ends up worse.
Too many power trip minded👮♂indeed!
