Well said, I fully agree. Every artist had their prime time, but Skrillex has proven that he can still be relevant with or without dubstep. I love what he’s doing now and I really enjoy his old as well as his new work 🔥

My opinion: I like both old and new Skrillex. Seeing an artist grow into something new over the years has been pretty cool. Sure new Skrillex doesn’t “hit as hard” as old Skrillex, but that’s because of the genre. Most of the time, house music doesn’t hit as hard as dubstep. My opinion is somewhat controversial but it is what it is haha

Skrillex already said that he isn't just focused towards single genre, but he completely stopped making Dubstep and most of his new songs has started to sound like piece of shit to me, despite the fact that most of the trap and house music fans would freak out after listening to his new songs. On the other hand some artists like Kill The Noise Excision etc. are still trying to keep the genre alive somehow.
New skrillex is far more musically mature and focussed. Imho quest for fire is his best work yet. It’s full of the iconic skrillex sound design we’ve come to expect but it feels much more deliberate and focussed, with more of a specific identity and musical profile for each track. Very pared back, drawing lots from the original dubstep from the UK of the 2000s whilst still retaining the Americanised EDM flavour. Great stuf

well written, new Skrillex is a producer's producer, the sound design in his works is always so impressive me and my friends started breaking down his new releases after he finished his commercial bullshit with pop music
If we think about it, Skrillex is kind of like us. His younger (Older) Style of music focused on aggressive beats and Bone crunching bass which we enjoyed as teens but as he grew older just like us, His New style developed which focused heavily on more of a house music genre rather then aggressive dubstep which we are now starting to understand the deeper meaning as we are growing up from energetic adrenaline filled teens to laid back adults who enjoy the simpler side of life.
