That's awesome! I was playing and touring at the same time as MXPX (Like, exact same age lol), but they still influenced my style of writing after listening to them. I think I learned a lot about how to write choruses from them and Jimmy Eat World. Two totally different bands, especially Jimmy Eat World early albums, but both knew/know how to grab you with their delivery.
Used to tape Triple J radio back in the days when it didn't suck and this was one of the tracks I had on my walkman while I rode the trails on my bmx. We grew up through a special time and I refuse to let go of it.
I saw them at 328 and Exit In when I was 14 in 98. Mike stopped and talked to me and my 2 friends after the Exit In show. One of my friends was a Japanese exchange student and she was so excited to meet him. We talked about touring and thrifting in random cities. Lol. He was a sweetheart. I may still have the suspenders that he signed somewhere. I have the 328 show recorded on VHS. It's still a banger. LOL
