    The costs that you are paying for a property (properties) are very cheap in Sweden! Fiber installed in the home is excellent!

      it depends a lot where you are looking and what standard you want. If you want a house in Lidingö a suburb to Stockholm the prices for a house will be 1.2 million for a small basic house to 6.5 million euro if you want a realy nice house.

    The cost to connect fiber is about 20 000 SEK if there are already fiber pretty much direct outside your property so they just need to connect it to your house. If it is further away it can be much more expensive, but 4G/5G solutions work decently well in almost all of Sweden.

    I liked your video, soon I will go to Sweden and I would like to see what possibilities exist to have a call to discuss some topics that I have doubts and maybe we can talk. Let me know if we can talk. Regards.

    In the big city regions, houses can be very expensive, but in the country side, especially in areas where there aren't a lot of jobs, and not just in northern Sweden. If you have some type of online job, or maybe you are a writer, artist or something like that, then it can be a very good idea to buy a house in one of those locations.

    Great video busting the myth that Sweden is hilariously expensive. Well done, Sophie! I wonder whether your guesthouse will be available for short-term visitors next summer. Looking forward to some autumn videos showing the foliage in their brightest colours!

      Regarding the guest house - not sure yet tbh if it’ll be done by summer. Getting an examiner in to check what needs to be done and then depending on this I can see how long it’ll take 🙈

    Are you going to install your own solar panels or are you going to build 🔨 your own solar panels and install them? That would make some interesting videos. Who knows? Maybe there’s a government program that will help you with a purchase and professional installation. They have such programs in the States but I live in a condo with bylaws. Beware of scammers as you figure it out.

    • @KristoferOlsson
      @KristoferOlsson 8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      In Sweden you have to have professionals to install solar. its Illegal to install it yourself. Then no insurance will cover it. Yes there are goverment grants that cover some parts still. But the right wing goverment is starting to cut incentive from 2026. Then in Sweden there will be no sun from Mid november to february so you will not get almost no electricity from solar. (even if the sun techicaly is up a couple of hours its very low and often clouds.) Then you will get lots of electricity from May to early september.

      @@KristoferOlsson@KristoferOlsson, it could be that way in the States, too. I have never looked into it that thoroughly. I live in a condo, and the condo process involves a lot of red tape. Over here, they advertised it as free solar, but I needed clarification on what they meant by that. Was it in time that it would pay for itself? Was it a free government program? Like the lady told the window replacement company when they called to find out why no payment had yet been received. She said the salesman told her when she bought them "that these windows will pay for themselves." It's a joke, but kind of not.

      @@KristoferOlsson No Sun in Winter; I completely forgot about that. That seriously slows down getting your money back out of a solar product. I bet solar will be slow to catch on in that part of the world.

      I live in a smaller city in sweden prices on houses in the city is 250 000 euro-1 million euro and that is not even close to the more expensive citys. If you live 40-50 km outside the city you could prob go down to 100 000 euro for an old house. (summer house can be cheaper, with no water electric or septic)

    Maybe you can get fibre if you live in the centre of a town for 20 000 kronor however I doubt it, the cheapest I have heard was 25 000 and in my town, they want to charge me 35 000 if I said yes when they contacted me if I want it now it's 38 000, NO THANK YOU. I have mobile internet and that works great for me.

      If you dont have fiber close to your house it can be even more expensive then that. I have heared quotes above 100 000 sek to dig fiber to a summer house.

    Thanks for your update and interesting information on owning a house in Sweden! Do you have a daily mail service? Your smile, chuckle and enthusiasm is very contagious, wish you the best as you dream and then make the dream come true! ~ S. Carolina - USA

      Nobody in Sweden has daily mail service anymore, because most people get their invoices and pay all the monthly costs online. I honestly don't remember when I received a private letter or postcard but it was many years ago. I got a sticker at my mailbox saying that I don't want to get any advertising leaflets. When I receive a parcel they put it sometimes in the mailbox when it's a smaller package leave it on the porch or I have to collect it at a service point. There are some people (mainly older) who still get some appointments for example health checks by mail.
