I argue with myself on whether this is best verse ever. But there is definitely an argument to be made. The whole syllable clip part is so goose bumps!
Yes this Em verse is definitely top 3. But to me his best verse overall has to be the last verse on the song "Bad Guy"! That verse won verse if the decade 🔥
This is very often regarded as the best verse Em has ever spit and I would have to agree. Yelawolf has a lot of non-rapping content out there. He's just a dope artist overall. The jabs at Post Malone for appropriating Yelawolf's whole style and type of content are serious and arguably valid claims. Yelawolf is one of the most underrated rappers and music artists in general in my opinion.
Yelawolf is talking about God. "if you wish me hell, then Imma wish you well and send you straight up to my best friend"..Em is actually talking about Proof and God. Great reaction bro!
This is kinda right, Yelawolf is talking about his best friend who died while he was on tour and went up to heaven " im gonna send you straight up to see my best friend" if im not mistaken this song was released after he had a meltdown on stage over thr call he got telling him.his best friend had died.
@@MrLboydReacts one example is the football scheme. You caught the 'tak e a hike' line, but the rest is pretty crazy. This has to be one of Eminem's most iconic verses to me, just on the structure, cadence, and lyrical technical ability, with Punch lines, doubles, triples, in all honesty just amazing, the way his mind works.
You are the first reactor that I’ve seen catch that Em was rapping about Proof like, right off the bat! Congrats! Most don’t pick that up until the last 3 bars or so.
Yelawolf sounds amazing and then Em drops this verse that blows 99.9% of most who have watched away because when you listen he is speaking direct from his heart and soul talking about PROOF being in Heaven and how he is look down on Em saying I got your back Homie up here pull strings for you down there so be the greatest you can be and send yo enemies to me and I will deal with them up here!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
"I put my love over pulling all nighters, cuz I got beat with my momma's belt" Yelawolf focused on his career instead of going out and getting fucked up, because his Mother disciplined him. Love your videos brother
That line “I put my love for a woman on idle because I got beat with my mama’s belt” is so good: it’s the literal meaning that it’s hard to love a woman (love on “idle” like a car out of gear) but also plays into the whole religious framework of the song because it sounds like a homophone for “over idol” as in the first commandment: you shall have no other God before me so it sounds like he was beat by his mom so he’s afraid to love a woman as that could be forming an idol before God 🤯🤯🤯
It isn't just that, my mother was pretty much the same way. It's about the fact that Christian mothers take dating and pre marital sex seriously and never allow their children to learn how to develop healthy relationships because of it. My mother said you date for marriage and since I'm not old enough to marry, I'm not old enough to date. That seriously effected my ability to develop relationships in my adult life and severely inhibited my ability even ask women out because of the shit ingrained in me and I was never allowed to grow up until I was already an adult.
I don't know if you've listened to Medicine Man from Dr Dre ft Anderson Paak and Eminem but to me that's Eminem his best verse if we talk this newer Eminem. I still overall like his old stuff the best. But his Medicine Man verse is absolutely amazing.
I came here solely to see how this reaction was only 10 minutes long and how many bars were missed, because the first half of Eminem's verse alone should be 10 minutes
love your reactions! this is one i highly anticipated and its normal for you to miss how insanely intricate and bar-heavy this verse was (doubles and triple entendres all over the place), its easily one of Eminem’s greatest. Do a 2.0 reaction, trust me, this one needs it.
I guarantee you are missing doubles/triples. Hopefully you get a chance to revisit to appreciate the lyricism more. Good reaction. Love your reactions bro. Can’t wait for the next one.
First of all when he says God arm me as in army wordplay with the armor to come me, right there that whole scheme is insane, because when you think of the army or armor it's used for protection for you, M&Ms using it the office that way asking God to give him armor to protect other people from him to keep him calm, insane best verse ever plus the cadences wow is all I have to say
Iggy Pop was 1 of the best musicians of the previous century. And produced one of my personal favorites, “Passenger” even though I have a Hip-Hop/Rap pallet.
"You're never over" by Em is another song with so much passion and energy like this one, and it's about proof and his own career. I would love to hear your thoughts on this one!
This is actually one of his most bar heavy verses if you go back and listen shits wild. That minister (menace to) bar was ill. But the “Might wanna act just like quarterbacks and take a fucking (hike) when I (snap) cause I’m a (center)” football scheme cause the center hikes the ball to the qb after the snap. But also take a fucking (hike) when I (snap) cause I’m a (sinner) he’s a sinner when he raps so you better run when he snaps on the track. It’s a whole double Em is untouchable.
Lots of respect for your reactions - I love how you just get into it. A lot of reactors posting 30 min videos, 25 minutes of talking and 5 min of the actual reaction. You get to it right off the top. Love it
"if someone walks up and taps your shoulder like this, you will hit them with a truck. Respect." hahahaha love the reactions man, keep up the great work!
Listen to Eminem "Difficult" it was a track he made about proof very shortly after he was shot and killed. But he never ended up finishing it. Apparently he had a hard time doing it just in general with his current state of mind, and because he said he could never find the right words. And whenever he would go back and listen to him he thought they weren't good enough for proof
This song gives me chills....especially when Em says "still got a Best Friend!" That's said, it's actually way more bar heavy and complex than you realize. Unabashedly Reggie has an excellent breakdown of it.
Bro...what? This is absolutely one of his most densely packed with bars verses he’s ever written, the verse structure is one of his best ever and the cadences and flows he uses to hop in and out of different pockets are masterful. This is one of his best verses ever and arguably one of the best rap verses of all time from a technical standpoint. I have watched maybe 30 of your reactions and I’m not sure how or why but I had a high opinion of your hip hop knowledge, appreciation and credibility early on. But I thought your last few videos were weak and this is your worst yet. So many bars went right over your head and you seem to have almost no comprehension of the complexity of some of these verses and bars, you don’t seem to see anything past surface level. I went back and rewatched a couple of your reactions I had already seen and thought I had liked and realized that you likewise struggled with those and I must have been giving you the benefit of the doubt early on. I’m not sure you are cut out for lyrical rap reactions. I look for reactors to occasionally bring something unique to the table and point out things I may have missed. Not only are you not providing that insight but you are missing a lot of the stuff I was able to catch on my own. I find myself skipping through the parts with you talking just to get back to the song I’ve heard 50 times, so I might as well be listening to the song by itself. Also, you should modulate your voice every now and then, it is very monotone and sounds a little smug to me, which is double frustrating because you are missing a whole lot and sounding smug about it, which I find extremely obnoxious. I know that I am ranting a bit and it may sound like I’m being a hater, which is anathema to me, but it stems from the fact that I thought I was enjoying your reactions early on, only to be disappointed upon realizing how little you are actually picking up on. Again, I am sorry if I am coming off as a jerk and you do seem like a pretty decent guy and for that reason I am letting you know that this will be the last reaction of yours I watch and I will be unsubscribing so that you can do your thing in peace without me feeling compelled to interject any negativity into your comments. I wish you all the best and hope there are no hard feelings, your content just isn’t for me.
