Brilliant man, what he says about his observations of kids playing without personality and only to what they have been taught, this is a very key point and a sign of transition from 90s football into the 00s. Despite rigid tactics 80s and 90s football generations were full of players who showed great personality on the pitch and I think of the younger players he inspired like Del Piero, Pirlo and more recently Messi (who has named Baggio as an influence), carried on this principle after him. I wish he'd be remembered widely for what he gave football and the battles of injuries he overcame rather than a penalty miss in a final and shootout (which Italy had already lost because they had missed 2 pens already). He was one of the greatest footballers of all time no doubt
He certainly was! Personality is a huge thing, especially the type of player he was. Can you teach someone to be a '10' in an academy etc? I don't think so...
me too Suleiman. Interestingly, despite what media though of him before the98 WC, he had a better WC98 than Del Piero th-cam.com/video/pZEO5mS82Xw/w-d-xo.html
before the WC98 they thought he was not important, but when Italy was losing to Chile in the opening, the coach kept only one attacker without substitution : Baggio. In this game during the second half Italy had 3 attackers including Baggio. th-cam.com/video/pZEO5mS82Xw/w-d-xo.html
I didn’t know he had that haircut-Ronaldo had it in 2002 he got it from Baggio hmmmm Baggio my hero I had his poster on my wall at age13 in 94 time fly!!
That has got to be the worst penalty miss feeling ever! Over all penalty shootouts! The best player arguably in USA 94 in a Penalty Shootout in the final of the World Cup! England bang on about Waddle and Pearce in 1990 who wern't the best in the tournament, this guy was and in the final too. I don't think there where ever be a situation to mirror how bad that was in football.
If he had played well with Zola as the last chance of other creative footballer, Italy may have a chance like Chelsea got.. out of Zola.. for the world cup 1994
Agree with you, in the 94 final Sacchi should have played Baggio behind Signori and Zola....instead he played Baggio (injured) with Donnadoni (injured) and Massaro and Berti who were both on poor form and lacking pace and creative ideas)...Sacchi lost Italy the WC in 1994, Brazil deserved it but Italy with Zola and Signori upfront and Baggio just behind and a defense of 4 with a midfielder 3 of Dino Baggio, Albertini, Conte etc would have been still strong and would have created far more problems for Brazil on that final.
No. Zola is a club player. He cannot be trusted for the National Team in the Finals. He almost cost Italy the game against Nigeria with the red card and then missed the penalty against Germany in Euro'96 that would have taken Italy to the knockout stages. Zola has been decent in qualifiers for Italy ( the Wembley goal against England) but very poor during the actual tournament. Nowhere NEAR the Divine Ponytail.
Roberto Baggio was awesome for the Azzuri. One of my hero's from my childhood
My too :)

Thanks Ahmad
Roberto Baggio number one in the world 🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀.
Thanks so much for uploading this, I don't think I ever saw it at the time when I was an avid viewer of the show.
Glad you enjoyed it. The show was the greatest - just wish I'd recorded even more!
Everyone’s watching because of Baggio. I’m watching for the GOAT AC Jimbo
thank you for charging this video, Baggio is what football should be today.
You're welcome - we wish we had even more to share on Baggio. Hopefully we will find more in the future!

Quả bóng hỏng này làm nhức nhối bao con tim yêu Baggio nhưng chính nó đã khắc tên Anh vào huyền thoại trong lòng người hâm mộ !
"it's better to have loved and lost.. than to have never loved at all"
8:57 WOW, such a wise take!!! True pearls of wisdom!

Baggio the greatest.
so handsome
great interview and did get a place at wc 1998 to redeem himself and make history (joint top Italian scorer at wc and only one to score in 3 cups)...
Какая вина? Не будь его, не видать бы Италии финала
One of the best during the 90's
Love his performance forever...
Class act.

Noi abbiamo un giocatore che gioca a calcio meglio di pelé.. Baggio Roberto baggio Roberto baggio ♥️
idolo
Roberto you were better than Messi and especially better than the Arab Penaldo.
What language was Richardson speaking? It sounds like he was speaking Italian with an English accent. Too funny.
This dude only looks like Baggio...
