Days 13 and 14 of my Cape Wrath Trail hike plus the escape from the cape day (15). Moving on from GlenDhu, through Kinlochbervie and Sandwood Bay to Cape Wrath. Then the journey onwards to Durness..
Excellent series of videos - building up to tackling this trail in a couple of years so really informative and will help with motivation. Also a scarp user and wouldn’t change it! Thanks for sharing. Excellent.
Well done Grant on finishing the trail. I started a week after you, made it through Knoydart then got a bug which ended my trip. Restart in 2025. Great set of videos, very informative, I’ll look forward to seeing your kit review video and your next adventure.
Superb series Grant - i really enjoyed watching all of them. You made it look easy which we all know it isnt. It was great to see all the fantasic scenery made even better with the weather you had. Ive been to Sandwood Bay and Kearvaig Bothy so your final episode brought back all the memories. Thanks for filming and taking us along.
Congratulations mate, I knew you would do it. Some fantastic memories made there. I look forward to seeing where you end up on your next adventure. All the best Mick
Fantastic set of videos thoroughly enjoyed them all. Great commentary throughout and an honest opinion of each section. A highlight for me was waving goodbye to one area as you entered the next stage, like saying goodbye to an old friend 😀. Thanks for the effort in videoing the journey and the very useful gear review and thoughts at the end. All the best. Mick.
Hi there Grant. I knew you were fibbing about reaching that light house! 🤣 Congratulations mate, some achievement that and your were so blessed with the weather for the vast majority of the time. I know what you mean about those Forclaz trousers. I have the exact same ones, in the same colour too and they are superb. I actually prefer them to the two Rab pairs I have which were three times the price. I’m doing the West Highland Way next May, really looking forward to that. All the best mate Dave 😀🥾⛰🏴🏴
Knew you would do it after Ullapool. Great entertainment as always and an inspiration for others. Would boots have given you blisters ??? Still not convinced by the shoes fad 😀
Hi Grant, great series of videos, really enjoyed you’re commentary and dry sense of humour. Thanks for doing a kit review, can I ask what socks you used? I’m sold on trail runners for long hikes but i’m starting to think of pairing them with waterproof socks might be good? Also how many pairs did you take? I find wet socks leads to blisters if I end up walking on hard ground/tarmac and maybe having dry socks to change into during the day would be good.
I had 3 pairs of liner socks and 3 pairs of outer socks. Key is to hang them on outside of your rucksack if they are wet (and the sky is dry) using safety pins. Alternating between them means 3 of each was possibly even a pair too many
Excellent videos. Great watch and informative. Well done on completing it.
Congratulations on your completion of the Cape Wrath Trail. Well done.!

I said the hike doesn't end at the lighthouse... LOL
Have a great trip on the WHW! If you want any pointers let me know!
@@grantmac1874 haha, you did very true. It’s good to see the bit between the Cape and Durness. No one ever really shows that.😀👍
@@grantmac1874 Thank you mate, I certainly will! Appreciate that. 👍

Yes, boots would have been soaked, never to dry out like the trail runners did.
