I did the exact same thing.. Was doing a last minute assignment the night before it was due.. Ended up watching paintball for 8 hrs so yup.. I was obviously too sick to goto school the next day
It's crazy seeing Alex, Yosh, and Ryan still playing. It's been at least 5 years since I've played a PSP and NPPL event. It was crazy being able to chill with them and watch them play back then. I miss those days.
I still can't get over that first game. A perfect run through for Dynasty in 36 seconds.....against one of the top teams in the world no less. That's inhuman level paintball, like not even fun at that point. 36 seconds to clean house holy cow.
Often they feel playing tighter to the bunker is more important than giving away their position. It generally means they are worried about being shot in the side from the other side of the field. Great question!
+PbNation Paintball how close are you allowed to be when shooting?, in the montage at the beginning i saw a few i thought would be barrel taps at my local club.
I think it should be mandatory to have go-pros attached to the front of their hoppers. It wouldn't impede them in any way, and it would add SO SO much for the viewing experience. They could edit replays to show who got the best kills and what not. Such a cool sport, but it suffers so much from not being easy to watch. Or should I say nearly impossible.
Let's settle this right now: Airsoft Pros: Realism Accuracy Highly Upgrade-able Many systems to choose from (Gbb, aeg, hpa, spring etc) 1:1 sale weapons (In America) No brightly colored guns. You should see my field that I play at. It's called Ballbusters Paintball, located in South Carolina. I got behind a "dorito" and looked down to grab my dropped muzzle cover. I saw at least 100 unbusted paintballs right there around me. I crushed a pile of them with my foot.
Yep. At this level they're more concerned about the speed of the reload than actually getting every ball. Not to mention the camera people probably liked seeing the paintballs flying everywhere and gave precedence to spots with that happening :)
Why all the hate between pballers and airsoft? Why not both? In the question of "Paintball, or Airsoft" the answer is "Yes" Guys. These are marginalized, non-mainstream extreme sports. In-fighting will push people away from both sports. It establishes a negative atmosphere that turns people off. There is plenty of stuff people can spend their time doing that is less controversial and expensive than these games. Stop being a bunch of children and work together to build both sports. Thank you.
I personally think paintball is better than airsoft because the tournament play is a sport that is not simulating war, but it is a totally different game
Neither airsoft or paintball is better. They are their own sports. I'm an airsoft player and I just enjoy it more. I wish I could do both, but that would be WAY to expensive. Even though I'm an airsofter I say this is some awesome stuff! lol I'm being reminded of when I first played paintball (I had never played airsoft prior to this too so no practice with this style of sport at all). I was 10 years old and everyone else (about 10 other players) were anywhere from 16-60, but I was the youngest. I actually performed fantastic. I really surprised myself. The funny thing though is I was wearing flip flops the whole time, and I could barely see half the time because frankly rental goggles always fog. But ya FLIP FLOPS! lol Like as a airsoft player the idea of using flip flops is just like ".....are you high on something?" I'm sure with paintball it's the same way lol because in airsoft we use combat boots and you guys use cleats I think. But ya. What was everyone else's first experience? That could be in airsoft or paintball.
Airsoft has higher fps so it stings alittle more, but paintballs are much larger in size so they do hurt a good amount too. Both are pretty similar I'd say.
I've played both. Airsoft for about 7 years and Paintball for about 2 months (just getting into the sport). Paintball doesn't hurt much more than airsoft, but you can definitely feel the difference
I was there it was intense! Ollie almost had that one! The whole crowd went nuts! On top of that dynasty used our entire teams pods! I will never forget it, thank you Dynasty! Go Apex!
OneTrickPony I agree! I'm just surprised there are no players wearing any, I would think it would boost their rep, to newer community members, to be able to see what they see, and show it periodically on the screen...
+TackStash779 at this level these guys live and breath low profile.... They cant implement a Go-Pro into their gear w/o it making it easier to tag them
so if that 15 sec round everyone got out so fast, how come that doesn't happen during regular rounds? is it because ppl are playing more reserved? i haven't watched paintball in like 12 years. i'm 26 now and haven't played in a long long time. But i remember dynasty used to always wipe the floor really fast
There are dozens of tournaments, many different leagues, 5 minor league divisions, semi-pro division, open division and then two professional divisions (challengers and then champions) It's been a sport in this sense for two decades.
Need to get more air time a recognition for paintball in order for it to really take off....it would help a lot of people are bored sitting at home a flipping through channels and come across a paintball tournament and see how fast paced and action packed it is and be more apt to want to get out there and try it
how do they determine a dirty hang especially if they didn't see the hit? Like 34:21...big paint marks on his knees but they don't even take a second look.
Vaughn Dawn Gaming! both are great paintball is in a feild, with blow up things some are in woods but at the same time airsoft is more realistic but both are good fun sports
That's splatter. A good ref can tell the difference between splatter and a break. Splatter is usually a larger area while a break is much smaller. As for a smear of paint, you can tell by the shape.
Airsoft, slow paced game. Paintball, fast up to extremely fast gameplay. Both games have there pros and cons, i enjoy playing both, it depends on my mood.
Dang you little kids doing this "paintball vs airsoft" trash. It doesn't matter about what's better or not. Its about having fun. Its your choice. You guys can't just change the minds of others. Seriously now stop being kids and grow up
Paintball arenas are just so boring. I would love to play in a more urban environment rather than a bunch of inflatable barricades on a flat piece of land.
I've always wondered why a lot of paintball fields have inflatable barricades where as airsoft have a more urban environment and as a personal opinion I prefer airsoft.
Looks lame and boring. They should use guns with low fire rate, look at this shit, they're sitting on one place, jerk the trigger and waste tons of ammo, look at all that wasted stuff on the ground.
+tulio dessoy personally i prefer paintball but i can see why some people would prefer airsoft as it hurts less and is safer but airsoft doesnt quite have the same feeling as paintball just my opinion.
+EH Shap invert mini gs, dye roto hopper, ninja400psi air tank, and any pod pack that holds 5 pods should do. speed ball is expensive pro markers like they go up too $1500 alone
+Benji Garlinghouse It really depends on you're accuracy some people like sacrificing them self too bring down people on the enemy really aggressively. But if you like too be accurate like a marksman and snipe I'd recommend spools or urban I suppose woods ball too.
I'm *very* thankful that they explained the phrase "He's got the ball.".. Just in case aliens are watching and have figured out how to speak english, but not fluently, just having problems with some idioms and analogies, so they take things literally
Tommy Myers Okay thanks. I am just starting to learn all the rules of pro paintball after being out of it for 10 years. Just bought a Dye I4 black and gold mask. Gonna get a marker soon after. I dont plan to play pro obviously but still want to watch and know whats going on.
nope.. its like 70% skill based... training and experience will get you there, good marker will only ensure the you have very little malfunction when playing in tournaments. Sometimes the marker will have a little bit effect on accuracy but most of the time its the skill of the player.
So, i have a question. Im not super familiar with paintball. My question is: Why such small playing fields? I mean, not like I've ever been on one, but it seems so small? It's as if you'd get shot almost instantly. Which clearly isn't the case. But it makes me wonder, why not in the forests? Or like any other terrain type, is it supposed to look very arcade like? It's really a stupid question which some simple googling will answer, but I'd like to know what you guys think of this? Regards
There is speedball, woodsball, and indoor. Speedball is what you see here. Fast paced, quick reaction/thinking, high adrenaline. Woodsball is slow, very tactical, and very flank dependant. Indoor is just speedballers ramping you from 10 feet. It's definetly the worst of the three. Personally, I play woodsball and speedball.
what i dont understand ( and prob is impossible) is: how can you know if someone is out, after he shot some one? I mean if you run and shoot someone, and he shoots you but misses but after you hit him he hits you, then you are both out right? i mean when are you out and when not?
Its cool. Its not like i have to study for exams or anything..... Ill just watch this
Haha that's exactly my thought process too bro!
Its amazing how stuff you would never watch when you have free time becomes an engrossing masterpiece when you have exams to study for.
Hahahahahhahahah same
I did the exact same thing.. Was doing a last minute assignment the night before it was due.. Ended up watching paintball for 8 hrs so yup.. I was obviously too sick to goto school the next day
Dude, it's been 5 years. How was the exam?
this sport won't take off until it's easier to watch, cant ever tell what's going on and even the anouncers don't know
+nick peterson Agree completely with this statement.
+nick peterson its not even sport.
+nick peterson It's one of those hobbies that are fun to play, but the more that people take it too seriously, the less fun it is
+nick peterson I would like to see some "goal post" footage of the field, one camera for each side
+nick peterson Its not a sport
It's crazy seeing Alex, Yosh, and Ryan still playing. It's been at least 5 years since I've played a PSP and NPPL event. It was crazy being able to chill with them and watch them play back then. I miss those days.
I still can't get over that first game. A perfect run through for Dynasty in 36 seconds.....against one of the top teams in the world no less.
That's inhuman level paintball, like not even fun at that point. 36 seconds to clean house holy cow.
A game between Dynasty and Infamous will never disappoint.
why not paintballers and airsofters go together and go against nerf?
THAT WOULD BE AMAZING
Bruh nerf pussies would get hurt and cry
This needs to be televised again Matty Marshall has the best commentating voice and with drones and everything they've mastered filming
New to the sport question..why do they make their barrier move when hiding behind it? Looks like an easy tip to the other team
+Jacob Melanson In tournaments there's no minimum distance you have to be. Since barrel taps aren't allowed, you have to shoot the other team.
+PbNation Paintball Having the referee stand close to the player, wouldn't that give away the player's position to the other team?
+Elie Maalouf Most of the time the guys in the back are yelling out positions. Generally people know where everyone kinda is.
It's so fun to play, so fucking boring to watch.
Let's settle this right now:
Airsoft Pros:
Realism
Accuracy
Highly Upgrade-able
Many systems to choose from (Gbb, aeg, hpa, spring etc)
1:1 sale weapons
(In America) No brightly colored guns. (Like in the UK)
Orange tip is removable
Cheap ammo (BBs)
Cheap guns. ($200 for a very good beginner gun that would be worth more)
A lot of DIY mods. (R-Hop etc)
Range
No need for rail risers to compensate for BB drop. (What hop-up is used for)
Mostly full metal
Real steel Ris, grips, etc fit with Airsoft.
Adrenaline
Airsoft Cons:
Cheaters !
(Sorry, I have been a Airsofter for a long time, can't hate on it. So I can't think of anything else)
Paintball Pros:
Many different play styles
Upgrade-able
No orange tip
Cheap guns for beginners
Full metal, Aluminum etc
Real steel components fit for Paintball
Many different playstyles (Mil-Sim, RecBall, ReBall, XBall, Woodsball, Speedball Etc)
More difficult to cheat (Not saying people don't cheat.)
Adrenaline
Paintball Cons:
Expensive paint
Cheaters !
Bright colored guns (Pro and Con)
So tell me if I missed anything.
Please tell me which is the better sport.
For cons on paintball, you forgot Hurts worst
Well that can be easily bypassed with padding.
AirsoftGhillie well, yes but not everyone uses like 1.5 inch thick padding but I know what you mean
Ya, if it hurts sooo much that you need padding then airsoft is the way to go
AirsoftGhillie And then there is your body after a game of paintball without pads...
I miss Paintball Access. Loved their event coverage and all the extras they used to include.
They drop more paintballs on the floor than they actually shoot lol
^^^ Dis guy Knows
You should see my field that I play at. It's called Ballbusters Paintball, located in South Carolina. I got behind a "dorito" and looked down to grab my dropped muzzle cover. I saw at least 100 unbusted paintballs right there around me. I crushed a pile of them with my foot.

Pegasi Pegasi 2016
Pegasi well said and why dont both sports go against nerf??
13Bbeetle
Because nerf isn't an actual threat lol.
hahhaha true
TrainLe Choo 2015* lol
man, I like paintball but I really can't figure out whats happening in this vid,,
The camera work is terrible, but this is a very standard tournament layout.
I personally think paintball is better than airsoft because the tournament play is a sport that is not simulating war, but it is a totally different game
a Birds eye view camera angle would help people know whats happening by alot
Air-soft or Paint Ball?
why cant the commentator pronounce San Diego, I spent 45 minutes trying to figure out what "Santigo" was
+James Olszewski SANDIGO DIENTY
Maybe it'd be easier to watch if they had a map on he corner or something that like shows where the players are...
Neither airsoft or paintball is better. They are their own sports. I'm an airsoft player and I just enjoy it more. I wish I could do both, but that would be WAY to expensive. Does it hurt when you get hit by a paintball? Or is it just like airsoft?
Depends on if you wear gear or play t-shirts.
Like a real moose.
No matter what you wear it matters on distance Point Blank Hurts like hell
Good Distance Nah

14:57 Damien Ryan wristt shot?
A sport IS a hobby
Technically not if you're doing it or attempting to do it professionally.
NHL/nba/nfl etc. Are playing as a hobby then?
I'm an airsofter, and I found this video very enjoyable
Jesus Christ it's Jason Bournestine

what do these top paintball players make a year, or if they win tournaments like this? thanks
Why don't they have First person Go-Pros?
TackStash779 they have to fast n' stuff .... unnecessary ballast, they're pro players, they have to be comfortable

No death msgs. Hard to follow :P
39:28 what is that one #3 head ??
Damn i didnt think paintball was that important that they made a tournament
Tournament play has been around for a long time. It's been broadcast on ESPN in previous years as well. You should check it out!
antonjeu When was it on ESPN(no longer a real sports channel) but still..
There are dozens of tournaments, many different leagues, 5 minor league divisions, semi-pro division, open division and then two professional divisions (challengers and then champions)
It's been a sport in this sense for two decades.
What's your favorite barrel length? Mine is 14" iv had my best gun fights, close and far with 14" but what do you guys think?
Watching them fill their paintball guns and wasting 20-30 paintballs every time -shudder-
ahh dude i know it gives me a head ache
zakizdaman this is late, but they get sponsored so it's not like they're too concerned about wasting paint like the rest of us haha :P
its just i hope they dont leave them it bugs me seing all the paintballs Jason Chien
zakizdaman because they dont have to pay for anything, its all sponcered
This may sound like a dumb question but why not use more heavy artillery weapons? Like the X7 phenom.
+Rajat Patel to bulky for speedball

I'm glad Infamous took it. Great game.

Im just kidding man, dont sweat it :p
VANDEE Im not man its all in good communication
AxeBaller66 I always see comments from you, team kcballers, ilovehellokitty85, and striker in paintball videos :P

Awesome but wish dynasty won
Don't understand the penalty plz explain
Kind of stupid how the refs give away the position of the players by having to look at them for paintball marks...
TheLionheartist I know I think they should tint visors or get some computers to register hits
Something like that. A lot of strategy of the game is thrown out the window when all you have to do is look at refs.
TheLionheartist you really can't do a computer to register hits because it would count a hit even if the shot doesn't break.
23:09 Chromer from Hustle Paintball is in San Diego Dynasty's pits
Rush b
hey do you play on any of these teams?
only if this shit was on espn
They used to show paintball in the late 90's on ESPN2
It won't ever happen not enough people care to watch if nor are their any sports analysts who care to cover it.
its available for streaming though
how do they determine a dirty hang especially if they didn't see the hit? Like 34:21...big paint marks on his knees but they don't even take a second look.
head shots will alway get them out lol
AIRSOFT xD
Too many cheaters
White ClayZ to many cheaters in PaintBall too its called wipe it off xD
Vaughn Dawn Gaming! both are great paintball is in a feild, with blow up things some are in woods but at the same time airsoft is more realistic but both are good fun sports
Benito Binuya true
People that play airsoft also have to shave their pussy hair, airsoft is for bitchmade little pussies.
Is there a way to have fun easier than paintball ?
I wish airsoft got this much attention :(
*****
Nope they wouldn't.
***** That's is completely true
Ive only just started watching paint ball. I was just thinking couldnt smeared paint of the blow ups get on there gear and get them ruled out?
That's splatter. A good ref can tell the difference between splatter and a break. Splatter is usually a larger area while a break is much smaller. As for a smear of paint, you can tell by the shape.
airsoft> paintball
You're funny.
I play both... Idk how people not calling hits and a game lasting 30 minutes is better....
Airsoft, slow paced game.
Paintball, fast up to extremely fast gameplay.
Both games have there pros and cons, i enjoy playing both, it depends on my mood.
+Jonathan Zacharia Carlo
Idiot Paintball is better than airsoft bitch
Are cleats allowed. Seeing how muddy it can get I wonder if it's allowed. Although now that I think about it I don't think the would.
Ssssw
this vid quality is crap. cant tell where everyone is and what the heck is going on
is paintball on tv? i'm new to this. is it at xgames or some shit
Dang you little kids doing this "paintball vs airsoft" trash. It doesn't matter about what's better or not. Its about having fun. Its your choice. You guys can't just change the minds of others. Seriously now stop being kids and grow up
Just like Xbox vs Play Station
+Ian Lopez I like paintball but I haven't played alot of airsoft before so theres that.
i agree but this won't stop never(i just saying my opinion in another comment because i prefer airsoft)
how did they see what player get shot to match from match?
Paintball arenas are just so boring. I would love to play in a more urban environment rather than a bunch of inflatable barricades on a flat piece of land.
There are many different types not just this kind there are wood and urban environments as well as many other kinds too.
we have that in Scotland :)
Believe or not we even have them in michigan
I've always wondered why a lot of paintball fields have inflatable barricades where as airsoft have a more urban environment and as a personal opinion I prefer airsoft.
***** I do. Just no arenas around me that play it. *cries*
Going for my birthday this weekend... I noticed one of the dates at the beginning were on March 14. That's my birthday. Was this 2014?
Looks lame and boring. They should use guns with low fire rate, look at this shit, they're sitting on one place, jerk the trigger and waste tons of ammo, look at all that wasted stuff on the ground.
BlackVirtue The high fire rate is one of the things that makes it so intense and fast paced
Shut up
RageXskullz ! scram, you little bitch.
BlackVirtue
Zachary Maneja sure
They need a small mini map on the side. That way you can follow the game better; what positions people are holding and who gets hit.
Airsoft is way better than paintball. Lol.
😂😂😂😂
It's for 10 year olds
+tulio dessoy please be joking XS
+tulio dessoy personally i prefer paintball but i can see why some people would prefer airsoft as it hurts less and is safer but airsoft doesnt quite have the same feeling as paintball
just my opinion.
+musicalvlogginggamer and you don't have to wash guns
I am considering getting a speedball gun. What should I get my budget is $580
+EH Shap invert mini gs, dye roto hopper, ninja400psi air tank, and any pod pack that holds 5 pods should do. speed ball is expensive pro markers like they go up too $1500 alone
is there a channel on tv for this
You know, what channel is this on? i cannot find it.
When was the last time a pro game did go into 1v1s?
I dont think so. I cant wait for the day it does though.
Infamous won but Dynasty bringing out the entertainment again luv watching em play more than any other
This is like the 10th time I've watched this I love this video dynasty is one of the best teams in paintball no question about it
I'd like to deploy my paintball sentry, is this legal?

what was that penalty about
what jersey does dynasty wear? im buying the HK army hardline soon and they look similar
Yep. They are using the hardline jerseys. They might be sponsored by HK but I'm not sure.
"I am so excited right noe"
dose anybody know what the length is of there barrels i have a 6 or maybe 8 im pretty sure 6 but im looking to make my gun more accurate

what was the penalty for? I don't really know what he did wrong? 10 foot rule?
He got shot and kept shooting causing a major penalty
Tommy Myers Okay thanks. I am just starting to learn all the rules of pro paintball after being out of it for 10 years. Just bought a Dye I4 black and gold mask. Gonna get a marker soon after. I dont plan to play pro obviously but still want to watch and know whats going on.
Cool, no problem
I have a question do you have to have a good marker to be good at paintball
nope.. its like 70% skill based... training and experience will get you there, good marker will only ensure the you have very little malfunction when playing in tournaments. Sometimes the marker will have a little bit effect on accuracy but most of the time its the skill of the player.
What is the guy in yellow doing laying in the middle with a walkietalkie ? judge?
+ZekeMagnum He sees if some one has been shot or not, he will call the others to get a closer inspection of the player called out by him.
+ZekeMagnum That's a ref checking paint.

If someone shoots you after they've been shot it doesn't count
