I love playing support an defender. I feel so useful. The problem is when i want to play one or two games as a carry and no one goes a tank or whatever and i feel obligated to change 🙃.
You're one of the good ones. I would rather have you do it than someone who has no clue what they're doing. May your future games be ones where you carry. ❤
I think thats the the problem with the game. I suspect (dont know for sure) thag matchmaking looks at your role history where possible and assumes since you played those roles more than others you're likely to pick the tank or support for the team. So when you don't, you picked wrong. It feels that way at least as a fellow support/defender main.
I play defender almost exclusively and support when I’m not defender. I think the reason people focus on kos instead of good plays is because when you have that one guy who wants to do everything and be the “best guy” even if it means throwing the match to rack up points or kills - the game marks them as MVP and confirms to them that they only lost because the rest of the team couldn’t keep up with their awesomeness
people tend to gravitate towards the flashy players/numbers over the players/plays that facilitate it in all aspects of competition. i think its easier to quantify "big number means big things" over trying to explain the nuance of a perfectly timed heal or body block.
There's nothing in the game that incentivizes being a good teammate/knowing the macro of the game. So in turn it's easier for players to get their numbers and then blame the rest of the team if they lose
i hope spragels does videos about disruptor supports like mr mime and sableye that don’t even get the spotlight in battle data, great pokemon that people sometimes deem as just an useless meatshield the whole game
People like to play KO pokemon more because you get to shine more and look good. For example in the NFL everyone wants to be anything but offensive or defensive line because you don't get as much attention and shine.
Me playing literally any pokemon: Tries to think up new good strategies to secure the win. Me as Blissey: EGG! People probably care about the big KO numbers because it means that they were winning most fights and were a huge factor in their team's win. Either that or they just want to be able to use their high kill count to avoid taking the blame for a loss.
I still prefer the shield and helping hand. I never feel like the eggs healing does enough in games vs the unstoppable and attack speed and movement speed buffs.
5:22 i think it is from people and how we perceive the world, its like the flower and the seed/nut, everyone points out how the flower is beautifull and all, but have you ever stopped to consider how incredible it is that a seed can hold all the information necessary so that it can grow into a flower later? it knows what it should feed from, what substances are bad and even how tall it should be. And yet, everyone just looks at the flower. the same applies for unite, everyone is worried about showing off their damage and flourishing their moves as if the nut has become less than the flower but tbh this is not bad, imagine if we dint have this "test" to know who is mature and who isnt? just by looking at what people prioritize we can confidently say they are or not mature enough for that, without it we would have a bit more of trouble actually finding people to chat with on a high level
I know they wouldnt but they should add custom class or atleqst let you swap moves within the same class/type blissey, wiggleytuff, clefary have always had similar and used the same moves. Or maybe they coukd let you teach diff moves with pokemon specific tms/hms to make custom classes. The game is fun but in its curremt state its not worth 10 bucks a month no mobile game is really worth 10 bucks a mlnth tho.
The reason why people like the big ko numbers and miss the things that make it happen is because it's hard to tell how impactful they are really being. Before the classic dps, tank, and support class triangle, there used to also be a class called the mezzer. Mezzer used abilities like stun, knockback, status, etc, which didnt have a number like damage dealt, damage taken, or damage healed. Players couldnt tell how well they were doing with the mezzer and it was replaced by just spreading out the mezzer's abilities to other classes. Without being able to tell how well a mezzer did, despite having an important role, it eventually faded so that players can understand how well they did in a simple way.
Im just starting so idk if im playing wrong but i prefer to use helpinghand/soft boiled. I seem to do ok slowly going up. Get alot of thimb ups. But people seem to not get that they cant leave me abandoned and they need to stay between me and them and keep attacking. Then i have to waste my heals and stuff on myself trying to run away. Ill heal people and have an attack boost ready to pop and they keep running away. Sometimes it seems i stay 2 steps behind 1 person and they keep winning 3 on 1s as long as i keep topping them up and boosting them. I like playing supporter this way. I dont like having basicly no attacks and the items to boost youre regukar attack dont seem to do much. I orefer to play attack/speed but havent figured out which character to pick. Is there a better supoort i shoukd go for? Right now the only pokemon i jave that arent starting ones(i chose talonflame) and i have the electric guy that i think is free. And chansey. And i only have enough to buy 1 top tier character(15k) or maybe 2 other ones. Not sure what to soend my stuff on, and im probably not spending money, definitely not spending 10 dollars a month. So which pokemon should i buy w my little 15 k. Are there cheap ones that can fill out my line up(bal, def, and id like to have an good attacker or speed. But not sure) not sure what woukd be tye most rewarding to play as as far as success. On diablo i play a monk, damage dash, explode, damage dash back through them explode, heal, repeat. Also im old and dont really know half of these pokemon. I want snorlax and stuff just because. What has a high potential for an oddball set up that no one uses. Something like spamming basic attack and doing damage and special moves just buff and heal? Is there a healer/support/buffer that is a good attacker that can rely on just the rwgular attack as damage output probably ranged. Maybe wigglytuff? Or clefable? I just spent mkney on blissey because internet said it was good and the price was ok and then i saw how much the payout of currency slows down where it will take a week or more to afford another one. And i rambled. Just want to know what to spend on if i only have 1 choice and or what i should play/if there are any deals where i coukd get 2 and fill out my line up and be competitive
The real answer isnt even fully that people want to see big numbers and be the star of the show. Yes, thats a huge part of it, maybe about 70% or so, but id say the remaining 30% is really because this playerbase is soo unaware of how to play this game. This game is over 3 years old, and i know everyone in this comment section still has a decidueye, greninja, cinder, or charizard or w/e that never leaves their lane. It's not even about not rotating anymore, they really just stay in their lane the whole game, lose that lane, and then proceed to use their unites at 3 min mark, not go to ray, and then go afk for the rest of the game. Then they just que in again and not change a single thing about their gameplay. So while on the one hand, yes im sure we all love to have our own pop-off moments, everyone in this playerbase is forced to have main character syndrom and think THEY are the only reason they can win. And the sad thing is, we cant always blame them for thinking that way. However, wayy too many of those people view the game in an unhealthy way. I cannot count the amount of times people think their teammates intentionally try to screw them over in the first 30 seconds of a game because they didnt get a last hit. Tldr: the playerbase has an unhealthy outlook on how to play the game, but it isnt entirely their fault. Unite as a game needs to communicate with their players better. Honor of Kings surprises me with how upfront it is with its info and mechanics
Pfff, when I ran wiggly, I was the star of the show. MVP almost every single match I ran it, lol. Pulled off some rather crazy Ray steals and some crazy secures.
The problem is the ranking system. Masters is a participation award. They need to stop catering to children as children are not why the game is successful. If your win rate is in the 40's, you should not even be close to ultra. It's okay if someone is bad. It's okay if players want to play casually. It's not okay that they are in Masters. That's the game's fault, though. Need to fix the matchmaking system.
I don't think it's about caring about big ko numbers, of course is the easiest thing to flex, but it's more about having faith in your teammates, imagine starting the game and on your lane you find the "I'm gonna stack at every cost"guy, not ideal. Personally I find very boring to play the healer role, maybe I'd like to play hoopa but it feels hard to master it and I don't even know which lane to go during the game, how am I supposed to open portals (returning player)
yeah beeing the healer in a bad team is very frustrating, if you want to get better at Hoopa there are a lot of videos on youtube and im sure you can learn a lot and improve by watching spragels or cris playing.
@@kuroginava8498 I've watched a lot of those but I'm not used to commands on switch and I feel like it's more essential for hoopa, I'll buy him when I'll be more confident
In my opinion, all supporters would need to get picked more often would be a faster attack speed so that players feel like they are still fighting while waiting for their moves to come back
I think most people want to get KOs to vent and feel good about themselves. It could be real life frustration, or it could be Unite or other PvP games not going their way, or they just like the feeling they get. There are many other possible reasons, but I think feeling of being "the best" is the main reason.
Answering the question: because they prefer being the heroes. But in this games someones success is everyones success. They just don’t understand it “being the very best like no one ever was” got into their heads
the best role is to be a moral supporter. pinging keep pressure on while going to the objective where most team mates are even with two goals down, really boost the team's morale . This is what i do to bad players who become trolls when the team is behind : i follow that player wherever it goes lol , and they somehow snapback out of guilt 🤣
Answer to midway question: Because they want to feel like they're the big boys of the game, which is why most people play carries, even if it causes the comp to be unbalanced. There's just something about having a lot of KOs that makes a player feel good. #GamePsychology
Since I am a hoopa main, I can say from personal experience that the reason nobody picks support over a carry is because your never gonna be the center of a game. Everyone want to go on a killing spree but nobody want to help others carry because the job is boring to most. Your never Frontline and you have to really rely on your team which a lot of players don't want to do. Yet scream at there teammate when they charged head first into a group of enemies without any allies near.
My team sold a match today because they wanted to take rayquaza because a cramorant broke our first goal on the top side. And we took out all of there goal zones except one. So Iam thinking to my self “it’s fine even if this cram scores we will win as long as we just defend.” Then I see that our a9 is pinging retreat. So I go to the center to see what’s up since I was already knocked out, and I see our ceruledge and two other teammates who probably just got pressured from ceruledge attacking ray, almost get him with out a secure. I emediatly ping retreat but they don’t listen and at this point the enemy pikachu got ray. And all of our progress got lost through out the match because my team was to cocky.
I think people get caught up thinking that KOs mean youre a great player and therefore your team is failing you if you lose when in reality, the KOs don't really mean anything if you get to a fight near 2 mins or at ray, you get over confident and they KO you. You can easily lose a game in the last too minutes if you get over confident.
I care about the things that make the big KO numbers happen. I also care about the fact that your Cinder got 6 KO’s in a row and was getting away and dove back in a got KO’ed and gave all the XP back. 😅 5:20
What really sucks is that the item that *looks* like it should be your healing multiplier actually doesn't do the job. Feels wrong being forced to build for the highest possible SpA on a Support lol.
For the same reasons no one uses buffs in games you don't really see the buff numbers because you just do big numbers then when the supports isn't there they notice a massive drop is life expectancy. Saddly it's the subtle things people find the most useless I play support even though it means less numbers on my end
We have 3 more eeveelutions to go. Vaporeon will be a defender or supporter; it has the largest canonical hp stat and has a great defensive toolkit. Flareon is either an attacker or all rounder, though probably the former. And Jolteon is most likely to be a speedster, making it the only special speedster other than gengar iirc.
A lot of support pkmn are boring to play and if you have bad teammates you have to follow their mistakes because most supports cant stand alone, but im still glad whenever i have a support on my team, its such a gamechanger except for bad Sableye and Hoopa players with terrible teleports. I wish there was an option to see my teams winrate before the game starts so i dont have to regret having picked support for the entire game.
as a support main (bliss and clef) and a captain of our 5stack, i cannot disagree with your remarks and opinions. Love your content as always Jake edit: i wanted to see your heal battle data. Highly disappointing brother
im not spragels but i’d say that a bad thing is pocketing one single dude the whole game. guess it did work as a zacian comfey back then, but even if your pocket is overleveled the enemy team will get fed by your teammates in late game. by the end everyone is gonna have your same level except your teammates that desperately needed heals
I’m always back and forth with liking Blissey or Clef more for that generic support, I feel like Blissey has more interaction especially with its Unite and Egg Bomb plays over Clef just running around with Moonlight, but I just absolutely love the wild card Clefs Unite is, randomly getting a Hyper Beam off in a team fights so satisfying
eldegoss and blissey actually have very similiar playstyles, healing and damaging a lot at the same time, so you should find a build that looks more fun for you
Please can blissey get a new skin comfey and chefable got a good one (by good one i mean one with effects) roght when they came out she came out in TWENTY TWENTY ONE GARDAVOIR GOT A SECOND BP SKIN BEFORE BLISSEY GOT ONE 😢😢😢😢
They care about the KO's more because it's the only source of validation and confirmation of success in their life. They didn't get praised and loved enough to strive for cooperation, unfamiliar with teamwork, and carried the burden of the world on their shoulders alone. If they can just prove to everyone and themselves that they are, in fact, the best - then the pain was all worth it. Hence the extreme reaction towards losses and differing actions of teammates to their own. "They don't understand" our protagonist says, "I could've carried, they just needed to listen to ME" A canon event, I'm afraid. We may only hope that our KO-focused teammates wake up and learn the power of friendship... Sooner than later.

Maybe because the reason y supports don't get recognition is because unite is a stage! And the actors are the main attention, the stars of the show! The supports are merely just backstage people and props🫠

Supports are the best. I've been a Mine main since the beginning of the game
It’s scary to play support in this game. You really have to rely on your teammates to be competent.
everyone loves to be heroic but wouldn't take responsibility of a hero
waiting for long awaited Blissey buff in next patch
Does she really need it?
Maybe a minor buff to Safeguard or Helping Hand, but Blissey is in a good spot tbh.
Hello sir pls make a vid on greedent covet , belch build, pleaseee❤
What really sucks is that the item that *looks* like it should be your healing multiplier actually doesn't do the job. Feels wrong being forced to build for the highest possible SpA on a Support lol.
Supporters win games (meanwhile defenders are crying in a corner)
Safeguard and helping hand is the best 😍😍
Second guy, love the content big dog, keep doin what you’re doin!
For the same reasons no one uses buffs in games you don't really see the buff numbers because you just do big numbers then when the supports isn't there they notice a massive drop is life expectancy. Saddly it's the subtle things people find the most useless I play support even though it means less numbers on my end
Unpopular opinion but if they add Vaporeon, make it a supporter. They missed out on Sylveon and a supporter eevee evolution would be nice
As a Cinder fan I’m SO glad he didn’t throw lol
A lot of support pkmn are boring to play and if you have bad teammates you have to follow their mistakes because most supports cant stand alone, but im still glad whenever i have a support on my team, its such a gamechanger except for bad Sableye and Hoopa players with terrible teleports.
I wish there was an option to see my teams winrate before the game starts so i dont have to regret having picked support for the entire game.
I have a lot of fashion tickets but I can't exchange them anymore because I already have them all, is there an update to exchange these tickets?
as a support main (bliss and clef) and a captain of our 5stack, i cannot disagree with your remarks and opinions. Love your content as always Jake
edit: i wanted to see your heal battle data. Highly disappointing brother
Whats your held items?
Yes finally my main blissey stronger then you think i promise
Im bad at being a carry so I rather like to support those that instead can play it and just always heal 😭
ADC and jungles win mathes, but supports and tanks win championships
people care more abt the carry bc its very satisfying when someone kicks ass
Love the vid Jake! Blissey wins games.
what makes you say that people arent good at playing support/defenders and what could they do differently?
im not spragels but i’d say that a bad thing is pocketing one single dude the whole game. guess it did work as a zacian comfey back then, but even if your pocket is overleveled the enemy team will get fed by your teammates in late game. by the end everyone is gonna have your same level except your teammates that desperately needed heals
When you play support you also need to have atleast 1 good player on team cause if you don't then it's waste of time
Support and defender are definitely my favorite classes
Can someone tell me the best held items for blissey?
Can someone explain like I’m 5 why energy amp is good on Blissey? Want to understand so I can bring to my blissey build
Your unite hits harder, charges faster and you get a little cdr
@@spragels huh would have never thought to throw it on blissey but will definitely do it next game.
Does anyone know how to get the Gold band etc for one Pokémon
You need 165.000 or more trainer points on that pokemon.
Which Pokemon should I buy ? Blissey or eldegoss
Watch some videos or try them and choose which ones playstyle you like better both are good supporter.
eldegoss and blissey actually have very similiar playstyles, healing and damaging a lot at the same time, so you should find a build that looks more fun for you
Thx I got eldegoss
What’s the secret to getting teammates like these lol
Playing supporter sucks sometimes because they rely on teammates in a game famous for bot matches...
I always heal 100k+ with clef still win rate is 45% 😢 randumbs op
Lol cinder wouldve been the mvp if he got the 100 score at last
My best ko game was 37 ko
yes blissey is good, but many times, I can't solo lane with Blissey
Yee
I used to only play supports on league and also on unite, but I just feel like in solo queue I lose games because my team can’t carry
Can you explain how the punishment system works? #RespondSystem
My name is JDagon and im gonna ask, “Can you explain how the punishment system works? #RespondSystem”
I agree I see a lot of trash defenders and supports. Especially defenders
Support is the best but we get damn psyduck😒
how dare you offend our pokemon and savior, prepare to be castrated
Please can blissey get a new skin comfey and chefable got a good one (by good one i mean one with effects) roght when they came out she came out in TWENTY TWENTY ONE GARDAVOIR GOT A SECOND BP SKIN BEFORE BLISSEY GOT ONE 😢😢😢😢
🎉❤
They care about the KO's more because it's the only source of validation and confirmation of success in their life. They didn't get praised and loved enough to strive for cooperation, unfamiliar with teamwork, and carried the burden of the world on their shoulders alone.
If they can just prove to everyone and themselves that they are, in fact, the best - then the pain was all worth it.
Hence the extreme reaction towards losses and differing actions of teammates to their own.
"They don't understand" our protagonist says, "I could've carried, they just needed to listen to ME"
A canon event, I'm afraid.
We may only hope that our KO-focused teammates wake up and learn the power of friendship... Sooner than later.
Solo support players don’t use exp share, they would just take all your farm, feed the enemy, then check it out
midway answer: Number go up, dopamine injection
That team has absolutely no chance against yours.
Haw!
Yiooo
This is very misleading. I help support the channel and I still lose games...do I need to give MORE money?
You're also required to give Pokemon Unite $50000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 It is their game after all.
🤧
Maybe because the reason y supports don't get recognition is because unite is a stage! And the actors are the main attention, the stars of the show! The supports are merely just backstage people and props🫠
